Need Help Setting Up University Skydiving Club
sangiro replied to bigG's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Have you read this article? -
Colon, Why don't you email me and I'll work with you to write an article about what you've been up to and what you're doing. It's a great way to get some publicity on the home page without breaking the "no advertising" rule in the forums. Good to see you on Dropzone.com.

Hehehe! This was posted to the old forums and migrated to these... it was clicky on there. This forum has it's own proprietary language. Thanks anyways dear!

Welcome to the wonderful world of skydiving and Dropzone.com! Now, feel free to go ahead and make an ass out of yourself like everyone else. Safe swoops Sangiro

Heya all, I've added a feature that will allow you to block PMs from individual users. Go to: --> Edit Profile (top left corner of this page) --> User Profile --> find the text are that says: "Block Private Messages from these Users" --> Enter the usernames you wish to block one per line. Be sure "Allow Private Messages" is set to Yes or all PMs will be blocked. When someone on your blocked list tries to send you a PM they will be notified that you are not accepting messages from them when they hit the "Send" button on their PM. Hope this helps. If you are a fluent French or German speaker and preferably live in a country where this is the dominant language and you spend a lot of time on Dropzone.com and have been coming here for a while, please drop me a PM.

That's rather befitting. Damn hippie! Safe swoops Sangiro

Jimbo - that's simply not how this unfolded. As for your previous post complaining about "abuse of power".... Yes, that skymama is such and evil power-monger... jeesh! Safe swoops Sangiro

Having a hard time to know when to let something go are you? Quite frankly, you're 100% right, you can't disagree with a greenie - not on what stays and what gets moved out of a forum anyways. It's their discretion, and they really don't have to explain or debate it with you. Live with it our find yourself another forum to post to. Do you think that by adding "18 year old" to your joke you managed to get "around" the rule? Should have let it go. The message was clear. Safe swoops Sangiro

That is the advanced jump plan! The standard plan is "Jump out, do a little trick, pull our strings." ...you have to be really good to do "a few" tricks!! Safe swoops Sangiro

.....I'll be doing the naming around here monkey! Safe swoops Sangiro

None perceived either. It was a valid question.

Ok - hoping we've fixed the server erros at least for the near future. Replaced the two 1.8 GIG CPUs with two 2.2 GIGs. Will look at 2.6 in the near future.

People were talking about BASE jumping on Dropzone.com long before this forum was created. The only difference is it was dispersed in all the other forums. This was an attempt to at least pull it into one location where those who are knowledgeable can respond and hopefully actually impact some decisions people were making. Whether a BASE forum exists here or not will have very little effect on whether people talk about it here or not. For in-depth BASE discussions I still suggest people go to Blinc. I have a skydiving site. Does that make all other skydiving sites on the web redundant? I hope others will continue to build some great skydiving sites and have as much fun doing so as I am.

I believe the plan as you explained it to me at Rantoul was an excellent one. Proceed!

Update: Looks like the new CPUs will be going in tonight. If so I'm hoping we'll have a more stable environment tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. To everyone who jumped in and made donations: You rock!! Thank you. Safe swoops Sangiro

Most of the sit scripts are running under mod_perl.

A registered user and a "guest" is the same to the server. No difference whether people browse logged in or not. It simply has to do with the number of people asking for pages... The number of people on Dropzone.com, registered or not, has simply grown! That's it.
