Can I bump this back to the top, and wish all the best for Team Synchronicity as they prepare to leave for the world competition in France this weekend

So there we were again this last Sunday, in the windtunnel. Just did our first round of solos getting limbered up...After coaching someone in the second round, Boxman came out.... 'Wow Boxman, you are really working up a sweat!' I said to him seeing how he had sweated right through his nylon jumpsuit... 'Its raining like a mother------ in there!' he shouted back, and I looked and realized that the visors of the 2 inside the tunnel were dripping water like a car's windshield in a storm! Then it was MY turn! It was raining really hard outside, and the fans were pulling in the rain, straight upwards at 120 MPH!. WOW! It was like thousands of pinpricks against my exposed neck! The rest of me was quickly soaked! Two of the others didn't have visored helmets on ...Needless to say, it was pretty hard to relax and concentrate on our training maneuvers. No RainChecks in the tunnel! We finished the hour and walked out totally soaked through everything...Luckily Alysse and I had a change of clothes, it would have been a wet ride 2 hours back to Sarasota. Last December we shared a couple hours in the tunnel when it was only 40 degrees inside there, and that was tough...but you can always dress warmer. This rain was another story....and we got to pay $600 for the experience! But hey, don't get me wrong...WE LOVE Skyventure and Everybody that works there! We have been putting in alot of time there these last weeks, and improving our skills really quickly. We will get in another half hour this weekend before it closes for a couple of weeks. For those of you who have never been coached in the tunnel, not only is it a great way to learn techniques and train, it is also a great way to meet new friends and share quality time together. We cheer each other on, laugh alot and high-five each other and....I am addicted!

actually billvon, methinks he protests too much...its starting to look like a gag...(you guys call it trolling?? is that the term?') So True, playing with wind/air dynamics is a skill and a sport, and whatever someone does afterwards, pray or play....that's a personal choice that does not have to be advertised....

Remember us from our visit to Deland, we sat next to each other by the door on a load when I was doing low hopnpops for the canopy class. We will be there, as always sitting by the bombsquad table.... Bring your raincoat to wear over the wingsuit!!! Just like in everyday life.....your boss is probably firing up one now.....and he seems such a buttoned down dweeb at work..... sex and drugs??? hmmm never heard of that before....

I thought you were kidding, and then I heard Bush say it on the radio on the way home When he says 'we are all sinners' I wonder how he can include me and millions of others in that. I ain't a christian, I have no notion of original sin. The worst I can say is that we are like mirrors that need some dust cleaned off.. But I did like the part about "welcome those with good hearts" that is my philosophy all the way! I have met some pretty crude charactors, but sometimes am lucky enough to see the good hearts they carry within.... marc

The idea is to train the arm and leg movements and work on muscle memory....the buoyancy of the floats provides the 'pressure' factor with both hands and legs so it feels like pushing air, you can't get that on the floor. The floats also keep you level and stable in the water. Other earlier threads refer to doing this on an ottoman or similar, but comments mentioned that didn't train muscle memory for the same positions as being in tunnel or in the air...this is closer to that. BTW, no whuffos in our pool in the back yard!

For those of you far away from the windtunnel, here's a cool way to train your turning motions...if you are near a swimming pool! Alysse got some of those kiddie arm band floats, there are the air filled kind she put on wrists and ankles, and a type that wraps around with a velcro belt that fit around her knees. She is in the pool now practicing mantis position moves. You don't turn, of course, but the pressure is similar to that of pushing air in the tunnel! Great practice and builds up the right muscle sets! Cool idea, Alysse! Marc
