hans you bumped this back up, hohoo, Vlad, the reason some of our grandparents ended up over here (USofA) was because of 'russian forums' in the old country.... My tribe is now the tribe of skydivers, brotherhood of muff, don't need religion unless ya like it, just have to be an asshole! Greenie, that post should be deleted! I find it offensive and racist to hear a comment about 'jews haggling'.....Most Jews I have met are the most generous people I know.... SHAME ON YOU Skydivejersey! Not Funny! Try thinking abit more and come up with something humorous that doesn't insult an entire religion... marc

nothing matches the description of the cadillac that hunter thompson rented in 'fear and loathing in las vegas'....the description of what the car looked like when he got through with it!! Check it out sometime, it got me rolling on the floor

It's the job of the people who work at the dz to make the greetings and give the talk. The rest of us, friendly as we may be, see so many people showing up and soon disappearing. When it is a quiet day, and we see someone sitting around for awhile, they usually get noticed and acknowledged. We have a lot of older folks stopping in for a look around at zhills. Signs post the 'spectator areas' but they are curious to watch the packers and all the activity and walk around everywhere. When I go past them, I like to give a big smile and ask "Have you jumped yet today?", that gets a nervous laugh out of them.... As for the emotional aspect, we were coming to the dz every weekend for awhile before people opened up to us. They wanted to see if we were serious in the sport, and serious about being with them. Makes sense. In a risky sport, you can invest alot of Trust, energy and emotions in your fellow jumpers. Its fun to see all the seasonal jumpers come back, but they aren't the ones that are there for you emotionally/spiritually/mentoring all the time....Friendliness should be immediate, but opening up takes time together to build... marc

What happen to Packing Cathy @ z-hills?
marcandalysse replied to mirage62's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
hmmmm......and the angry dragon's friendly crackorican??? I trust my life to the zhills packers (or at least a soft opening), and they have come through every jump. I hope all the best for Cathy, her family, and for all my packers past present and future at zhills! marc -
Worse yet is coors light 3.2%, in colorado it was usually all you could find on sundays... 18-20 year olds in colorado could only drink 3.2 beer, which was even more watery, and we spent more time 'recycling' it than drinking pitchers of it! I figure the bars just hooked up the urinal drain to the taps and cooled it back down and served it up again! besides, the coors family was the most right wing SOBs around....gave lots of $ to John Birch Society and other such reactionary groups, and its influence on univesity of colorado was negative....

yeah that's a favorite of mine...the crystal ship.... you youngbloods have to recognize that the power of much of the music of those times had a cultural kick. jim was part of our attempt at social revolution, no one had tried to write music like he did, be outrageous in the ways he was (as did hendrix etal), so he had some successful musical attempts (lots really), some fell flat, but at least he tried to stretch the known limits of american middle class life back then.... morrison blew us away, we wanted to be like him, wanted to party like him, etc definitely a different time and reality. welcome to the 21rst century version of consumer entertainment! your ole hippie friend, marc

I DO NOT recommend the Riande Continental in front of skyventure. We didn't like it much. There is a Best Western right next to it that was nicer and maybe even a bit cheaper. It would be fun to meet you, but most of the zhills dz.commers are only there weekends... Marc

all these posts about nite life afterwards....zhills always fun on most weekends, and I am totally spoiled by Pauls $2 bottles of Stella Artois (and most other imports), orlando has some good music on occasion at hard rock cafe or house of blues, but tampa Ybor City (30 min from zhills) rocks for blocks! my only experience at deland was that manifest closed so early that even with a rockin' bbq afterwards, we could still get back to ze hills for sunset load!!! and hang out and blow off some fireworks in front of the swoop pond...

y'all should drop by zhills if you can still stand up after vibrating inside the wind tunnel for 3 days...that's a lot of sitting in there...how many slots do you actually fly a day? all these posts about nite life afterwards....zhills always fun on most weekends, orlando has some good music on occasion, but tampa Ybor City rocks for blocks! Ring Question... Name that stone... (Got picture attached)
marcandalysse replied to Atlas's topic in The Bonfire
Almost all of the red stones you get in Southwest Indian jewelry are RED CORAL....but I can't tell from the photo, looks like there's some yellow color running through it....
