  1. Spoken like a true database guy, Bill! marc
  2. I don't think this one has been posted yet.... WHITE HOUSE BREAKFAST Dick Cheney and George W. Bush were having breakfast at the White House. The attractive waitress asks Mr. Cheney what he would like, and he replies, "I'd like a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit." "And what can I get for you, Mr. President?" George W. replies with his trademark wink and slight grin, "How about a quickie this morning?" "Why, Mr. President!" the waitress exclaims "How rude! You're starting to act like Mr. Clinton, and you've only been in your second term of office for a year! '' As the waitress storms away, Cheney leans over to Bush and whispers..."It's pronounced 'quiche'." "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  3. Parabens pra voce! Tudo de bom! Felicidades! Abracos do Marc (ainda em sao paulo)
  4. A decent muff brothers magic carpet ride will hold steady until breakoff.....but you never know, especially when there are people of different sizes, strengths, experiences etc. It can be a real roller coaster type ride too...but 5-10 seconds aint much of a ride... Be safe everyone! Horny Gorillas, magic carpet rides, and the like can be great. But they can be a mess too. Marc EDITED: Just found out that a certain 'giraffe' was the organizer.....hmmmm.........
  5. John gets some great shots! Last carpet ride we did, he was hanging onto me as the tail end of a 10way, and we could see him whipping around the front of the carpet! Is that the carpet ride that had a premie opening? Usually at zhills with the otter we only get 9-12 people, but with the casa, WOW! I recognize a few of the zhills bombsquad in that foto! Thanks for posting it! Marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  6. hey bill, you are the only zhills regular (bomb squad) in all those photos....although I do see Keith Russel in the background of one..... come on post more photos....I miss all you guys! marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton

  8. Appleton Gold Dark is such a good rum that I don't mix it with anything....I have found it in most Florida stores, including supermarkets... Try it with orange juice, or with tonic water instead of the cola... marc
  9. Oh yeah, well I just realized that I passed the 1000th post last nite! Virtual Beer for everyone! Virtual pie in face for me! Marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton

  12. sheesh....they are just handpuppets! they have no sexual parts! no testosterone! I vote they are just good friends with absolutely no sex drive.... marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  13. How intelligent was the design for fireants, mosquitos, and the like? Why would any sane designer create avian flu and other pestilences? It is simpler to blame them on random mutations and evolution..... Oh yeah, I remember reading (in the original hebrew by the way) about the wrath of god and the plagues visited on the Egyptians etc etc....I just don't buy it! That is not to say I do not or do believe in a Supreme Being......but why would he bother to design mad cow disease??? marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  14. Vinny my brother! Of course, you didn't tell the half of it, from your amazing time in Rio.....but then you'd have to label your post NSFW!! hehehheheh.... miss you and our 4 ways... marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  15. Check my posts the last few weeks, we have been in the area between sao paulo and rio for the last month. Wendy's tips, as always, are excellent! The view from corcovado, the cable car up pao de acucar, the bonde de Santa Teresa (a classic open air san francisco type cablecar) are all lots of fun! We had a great weekend in Rio recently. We did tandem paraglides off Pedra de Gavea, everyone can tell you how to get there, just look up in the sky towards the west. Praia de Pepino is where they all land and you can get a ride up the mtn with any of the tandem masters. Hang gliding would have been more exciting. I wanted to stay high altitude for the views rather than bleed off altitude by playing alot. Alysse voted for playing under canopy and her paraglide ended much sooner than my 40 minutes at 1000meters at sunset. We went to a fantastic bar in Lapa. Lapa is the new place to barhop, many historic buildings are being renovated for restaurants and bars. We went to Rio Scenarium http://www.samba-choro.com.br/casas/rio/236 , the joint was hopping! Highly recommended for everyone, locals and tourists alike! Have fun, and PM me if you want some more ideas. If you can get away from the big city, we highly recommend a few days in colonial Parati beach, stay in a historic house, take a schooner ride to different islands and beaches around Parati Bay....and barefoot surf a waterfall (see my 'hey asshole' thread). Parati is easily reached by very nice bus ride with beaches and hidden coves on southside, rainforest mountains on the northside....one of the most beautiful rides in the world!! regards from marc and alysse "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  16. There are plenty of great waterfalls in the parks between sao paulo and rio. This one is in sao bento de sapucai, near campos de jordan (a popular resort town for rich paulistas). Another great one for sliding and 'barefoot surfing' is near the spectacular historic colonial town of Parati beach, on the road to cunha between rio and santos/saopaulo. Check your guidebook and friends in Sao Paulo, they can steer you in the right direction. Other famous waterfalls are in Parque Itatiaia and Maua, both reached from the Dutra highway between Rio and Sao Paulo.... All these places are around 3-4 hours from sao paulo city, 2-3 hours from rio.... PM me for more info....... marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  17. your shitty weather explains all the views of my 'hey asshole' thread this afternoon! just pw'ing till my 1000 post...heheheheh marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  18. Here's one of Alysse's younger brother riding a waterfall two days ago.....there is an annual 'barefoot surfing' contest on this rock, but he chose to ride it out on his ass. Did it twice in the ice cold mountain river....! Also that day, we spotted Santa riding a canopy through the trees at a local restaurant....see attached. I always thought the Brazilian version of santa would be afro, wearing a thong, and surfing... marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  19. JRAF, When it comes to diapers, I will defer to your expertise with all things excremental, and pass on the invitation! abraços do marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  20. Hi Tami, Just looked at weather.com for ZHills, and appears that the PMS weekend may get rained out....we have been getting caught in lots of rain too, but hey we have been hanging out in Rain Forests after all.... We certainly miss all our neighbors and pals at ZHills, so all of you keep posting the news on dz.com, and send us a PM or email once in a while! marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  21. Hey Asshole! Count Off! We are in a mountain town called São Bento de Sapucaí, a couple hundred KM from São Paulo Brasil. This is a picture of Pedra de Bau taken from atop Pedra de Bauzinho next to it. From this angle, we couldn't help but notice the resemblance to the sacred Muff Brother Handsign. Next to these tall rock formations is a hang glide/paraglide ramp, but being a weekday and somewhat cloudy, there wasn't anyone else around. I plan on contacting them...We would like to do a tandem hang glide here! Also included is a photo of the two formations seen from the valley. We took the photo from the edge of the left side formation. Happy Holidays from Marc and Alysse, Brasil "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
  22. I AM NOT A BUDDHIST.....pride has nothing to do with the buddha way..... well, the buddha didn't want to have a religion created around him as a diety. in fact, he urged us to question all our beliefs and find the meaning to our lives by searching within ourselves and living an ethical life, not by chanting or lighting candles in front of an altar and expecting some kind of 'grace'. he also said that the troubles in life are caused by desire, certainly not encouraging chanting for desirable outcomes. those aspects of buddhist sects evolved after the contact with christian monks who had made it to china in the tang dynasty and afterwards (around 800AD). in fact there was no notion of heaven and hell until the christian and other middle eastern influences affected the mahayanists who wrote the Lotus Sutra. Honen, Shinran (Jodo sects) and Nicheren (Lotus sects and variations like SGI) were a result of that, and obviously met a need during terrible times in japanese history....shinran and nicheren were really hard-assed too! to them it was 'my way or the highway(--to hell)' the buddha way is originally more of a psychology and morality/ethics that goes beyond any religious belief. So, I am NOT a Buddhist.....but the buddha sure was a cool guy!!!! your friend in dharma, marc
