  1. On p.30 of Tosaw's book, he claims the first thing Cooper did was remove the packing card from the parachute pocket. Tina interview.. She also commented that he appeared to be completely familiar with the parachutes which had been furnished to him.
  2. Cossey never acknowledged Hayden and denied it.. He would have known soon after because it would have been obvious his chutes weren't used. Nobody would have to tell him, it would have been self evident.
  3. Yes, very likely. He wouldn't know. They never communicated. IMO, Cossey initially assumed his back chutes were used and gave the description of his NB6 back chute because all the chutes were initially to come from Issaquah, but when Hayden's chutes were acquired only the fronts were needed from Issaquah. Initially, Cossey was unaware that the back chutes came from Hayden. He must have learned of his error soon after but never corrected the record.. instead he spun lies over the years to maintain it. That included not giving the FBI his packing records because it would expose his error and lies.
  4. Welcome back Jerry, been a while.
  5. Ulis is claiming the bag was too small to tie the top with all the money in it and had to remove some.. to then put it in the dummy chute and secure to himself. Of course he is just making it up... Tina said when she returned with 2nd back chute, Cooper was cutting open one of the chest packs for the nylon cords, (good front chute). Cooper tied around the top of the bag and made a handle. So, Tina saw Cooper secure the money in the bag, she never mentioned the money being divided or separated to be placed in any other container... IMO, based on the fact that no parts of the dummy were found on the plane and it had no seal, was "soft" and appeared tampered with,, Cooper probably tossed it.
  6. It is unbelievable to me that the FBI could not read the packing card and did not get any parachutist to read it for them.. The chute left on the plane returned to Hayden. The data is above the line and above the corresponding label, The FBI thought the corresponding data was below the label.. example type was 226 according to the FBI,, it was the Serial No. not the type. Returned to Hayden in 1975. So, the card for SN 60-9707 must have belonged to the chute Cooper used.. Remember, the FBI could not get the chute packing records from Cossey (he knew he got the chute wrong) and did not figure out that they actually had the packing cards for both of Hayden's chutes packed same date May 21, 1971.
  7. Yes, they injected Cossey's (incorrect) description into that file.. This is Cossey's Cooper replica, a 28' Reliance..
  8. The chute #226 that Hayden got back, the one left on the plane is a 26'.. The 28' description for the chute Cooper used came from one unreliable source,, Cossey. There a few places where the #60-9707, 1960 back chute is called a 24' chute. It could be a typo that got repeated or it could be that the chute Cooper used was actually a 24' chute. Here, FBI doc describes property in evidence from the plane in Reno.. Back chute NB6 sage green/sage green was the one Cossey claimed Cooper used. (This description is wrong, how can they have the back chute Cooper used per Cossey.) Then it states a Pioneer #226, 26ft, 1957 etc,, that was the one returned to Hayden. It is tan cotton/sage harness. (Accurate) Then it states the 24ft #60-9707, 1960 Steinthal,,, (it says ID "cards" plural, in pocket) We don't know for sure, but if we just eliminate everything Cossey said about the chutes then the chute Cooper used was probably the 24' #60-9707, July, 1960 Steinthal. It is hard to separate Cossey's lies and errors within the FBI files.... Always keep in mind that the FBI 302's/files are investigative notes, not conclusions.
  9. Ckret actually stated the chute Cooper left was #60-9707, Steinthal. 60-9707 is the SN not the model, the labels for the data on the card can be misunderstood.. data above the line vs below the label. Now,, the chute left on the plane that went back to Hayden was #226, 1957, not #60-9707, 1960. Cooper used one of those Hayden chutes. #60-9707 was the packing card found in the pocket of the back chute left on the plane, but #226 was returned to Hayden. Two cards, two back chutes both packed by Cossey May 21, 1971, one back chute missing, #226 returned to Hayden. #60-9707 had to be the chute Cooper used. So, why didn't anybody figure this out. They just accepted Cossey's error and subsequent lies to cover it up..
  10. I can't tell what is in the bag or the writing on it but the plastic cases are money frags if you check a high res image.. the material in the bag looks smaller than the frags in the cases. Could be sand or tiny money frags. and the case on the left says -1 mm, the right case looks to say 1 mm +,, so they were divided by size.. the sand was screened and sifted,, here there are four screens.. I assume they were different sizes.. It makes sense that frags could have been moved to the three foot level during the excavation process as Palmer stated. It was sloppy. Q58 was the money packets.. Q60 was one of the Bills the Ingrams kept then quickly returned. Q59 could not be later debris from envelops.. Hayden's chute was returned to him in the mid 70's and it was repacked so it was never checked for DNA... Is it possible there might be some recoverable DNA now, from the container or the packing card??
  11. Pioneer Steinthal is not any nomenclature,, It is just a shorthand description of the #60-9707 container and chute... The FBI docs say #60-9707 was a Pioneer and the chute was a Steinthal. It is possible for a Pioneer container to be an NB6.. Cossey described the chute Cooper took after being told the Pioneer was left on the plane.. so, Cossey never believed both were Pioneer's. He then described it as a modified NB6/8 Sage green nylon/Sage green nylon harness. He never referred to it as being a Pioneer and previously the chute was described as olive drab with a tan cotton harness. Plus, Hayden said his chutes were the same while Cossey claimed the two HE supplied were completely different. Cossey's description stuck but was never corroborated by any evidence. It is clear Cossey never claimed or believed Cooper's chute was also a Pioneer, it would have been noted as a Pioneer NB6/8.. At 32:00 Cossey discusses the chutes.. He didn't provide the chutes,, Hayden did.. Cossey is a liar. Cossey made a replica.. it was a Reliance.. not a Pioneer. This is most certainly the one in the video.
  12. There were thousands of fragments..
  13. So, they are speculating and probably wrong. The pieces are divided by size and Q59 labelling is consistent with collection at TBAR, NOT debris from later.. If later it wouldn't have Q59 and it was tested March, 1980.. Anymore questions..
  14. I hear you but this subject is far more complex than I have laid out... yes, a Pioneer can be an NB6 but Cooper's chute was never referred to as a Pioneer. Only the chute left behind was referred to as a Pioneer. The #60-9707 was described in FBI files as a Pioneer Steinthal.. The chute left behind was called the Pioneer. It was, they both were. Cossey was told a Pioneer back chute was found on the plane,, he then said an NB6/8 was used by Cooper based on the Pioneer being found.. Cossey's description of "Cooper's" chute did not match the prior description. It wasn't just the NB6/8 claim that Cossey got different. The colour and material was also different. Cossey claimed the back chute left on the plane was returned to him. It was returned to Hayden. Cossey claimed he modified the handle. Hayden claimed the chutes were the same but Cossey claimed they were completely different. Cossey later claimed the chutes came from his house. Cossey claimed he had the packing records but when pressed never produced them. Cossey correctly believed the back chutes were going to be collected from Issaquah with the chest chutes.. but before that happened they secured the two back chutes from Hayden.. So, when Cossey was first contacted he assumed they were his from Issaquah. He was told the Pioneer was left and assumed the other was his custom NB6/8. He must have figured out his error but never corrected it. Cossey was completely unreliable..
  15. Sort of,, two packing cards are listed but it states that the #60-9707 one was found in the pocket of the back chute left on the plane. It also lists the #226 packing card but doesn't say where it was found. The 302's state one packing card was found in the back chute left behind S/N 60-9707 July, 1960 packed by Cossey May 21, 1971, but it doesn't match the packing card in the chute returned to Hayden S/N 226 Sept, 1957 also packed by Cossey May 21, 1971. Clearly these two packing cards (packed by Cossey same date) match Haydens two back chutes.. since #226 was returned to Hayden then the #60-9707 must be the one Cooper used. Cooper probably pulled the two cards to check them and put the #60-9707 card back in the chute (#226) he left behind.. that chute was returned to Hayden with the correct #226 card. The #60-9707 was a Pioneer Steinthal so Hayden's chutes were basically the same, as he told Bruce Smith. Cooper simply chose the newer one. Cossey was either guessing about the chute or lying.. his description was wrong. Finally, that means that the FBI based on Cossey was looking for the wrong chute and may have rejected a found chute that belonged to Cooper. Are we having fun yet???
  16. Those are not hypotheticals.. LC said that.. meaning those are the small plastic boxes with fragments he saw in evidence. The fragments are labelled/coded and divided by size and Q59 was tested for sand/soil.. Those things are not consistent with debris/pieces separating from the bills later.. and there are probably a thousand tiny bits there,, consistent with DS..
  17. I don't think so.. Carr stated.. "LC – I never saw those shards. There were plenty of smaller pieces, and they were stored in small plastic boxes." The pieces are divided up by size and coded.. that wouldn't happen if it was debris from the bills already in evidence. It indicates the results of collection. Q59 was submitted for sand/soil analysis.. that would be done on collected evidence not debris from later..
  18. Hair sample last mention in FBI docs puts it in Seattle. (2002) 1998 - Cigarette butts were destroyed.. "years earlier in Las Vegas"
  19. Not necessarily, lots of tiny fragments are probably from the erosion or missing bills.. Palmer was asked about the bills at 3 ft depth, he said no, they were probably moved from the excavation process. It is easy to see how many tiny frags could be left behind and moved during excavation. There might be a thousands frags here.. could be from 1 or 2 bills.. but the volume isn't greater than the 3 packets. I don't see it as evidence of a deposit by a dredge. Some bigger..
  20. Google.. "negotiable American currency" How many hits.. How many non DB Cooper hits...
  21. I found a report that in 1977 material was dredged from the Willamette right under the 305 flightpath where it crossed the Willamette (mile 10), barged and dumped in the East side of the Columbia R. about 3 miles upstream of TBAR...
  22. Found this interesting,,, A Portland annexation map. The Northern section of Portland with the Airport was annexed '71-'80 In 1971 Portland proper was much smaller. Take out the pinks/purple and darkest blue.
  23. Ulis is correct,, Cooper ordered a Bourbon and Seven Up.. I think the media incorrectly used "soda".. This is a Northwest menu from a few years earlier but is probably accurate to the hijacking. You have six different Bourbon's and also Coke, 7 UP and Ginger Ale.. no "Soda" listed. In the early 70's Bourbon was the #2 hard liquor in the US.. not rare or unique. The takeaway is that Cooper may have just picked something from the menu, not that it was necessarily his preferred drink.. "no tipping please"
  24. Gene probably misremembered the front chutes.. We were told that an experienced jumper could attach a front without D-Rings.. Cooper tied the money to his waist. IMO, most likely Cooper tossed the dummy front because it had no seal and was soft, appearing to be tampered with. Plus, no pieces were left in the plane. I still think Cameron's story is BS or greatly embellished.. he touches on the key Cooper points in the FBI description and media with zero corroboration. Cameron was a publisher, it would be great publicity.. The FBI checked out all the registrants from the time period outlined and nothing. Cameron Dec 1 and Dec 3 interviews.. Claimed spoke to man July/August 71 Saw Raleigh cigarette coupons in his possession Asked about PNW jump zones near Columbia River Jumping from jet Questions about the stairwell opening inward or rear stairwell raised or lowered Air speed and flaps Older guy Then on Dec 14 '71 Cameron walks it back.. He claims he can narrow it down to late August. He claims there was an article in Look magazine that showed a parachutist jumping from a jet and maybe the guy got the idea from that.. but he still thinks the guy looks like the artist sketch.. First, that was sketch A, the bad one.. garbage. Second, this is a classic walk back, he was BS'ing and had to cover himself.. after he had the FBI chasing his BS lead. Finally, it was obvious BS or greatly embellished.. some guy probably asked about jumping from a jet and Cameron added the stuff he thought matched Cooper. The FBI took him seriously and he had to walk it back. A classic CYA move..
