  1. Look how close this bill is.. it was submitted to the BEP due to termite damage. L73433712B is a Cooper bill the 12 means it is an L bill This one is an L?3433712(C?) I finally determined this bill was 1988-93.
  2. That suggests that the Cooper money could have been stored someplace until 78 or 79 then deposited at TBAR.. In other words, we still can't determine the year the money was deposited..
  3. Guy finds buried money,, bills dated 1934 sealed in a jar in a spot which was in a house crawlspace.. DRY SPOT wrapped in something like burlap and rubber bands intact.. WHAT.. bills look very good. https://www.nj.com/cape-may-county/2022/07/jersey-shore-buried-cash-enigma-deepens-with-discovery-of-more-money.html
  4. Not exactly, the bill numbers were widely distributed,, there was a reward and they were published in newspapers.. there was some checking. The fact that no bills ever turned up in circulation suggests they were never spent but does not prove it. There is no evidence they ever entered circulation.

  6. That was Brian's cousin Denise who was with Brian when he found the money, her parents wanted a reward. I think there was a riff in the family over the money find.. It was all the same find. Brian's mother kept 4 bills but turned them in a few days later.
  7. They are close, not exact but he may have grabbed postcards for angles he couldn't take photos of.. his daughter explained how he worked and he would take lots of photos, go back to his studio which I think was Switzerland and put together his stories. There are more images of that building including inside in the comic.
  8. Another comic connection to Seattle, Ye Old Curiosity Shop.. Dan Cooper comic on left..
  9. The FBI list was widely distributed but it was re-ordered to be alphanumeric,, so easy to look up a bill. A single bill wouldn't get checked but a large number of bills passed at once may be.. then any bills that got passed would circulate for many years..
  10. The Ingram's may not have known as they had separated into piles.. but the FBI had the bill order from the micro and could reconstruct the packets.
  11. I can't confirm McChord but he often visited military bases on his research trips... The only angle I see as possible would be if he met "Cooper" during his research, that could have been in the PNW or Florida.
  12. I think it is a coincidence, but it is fascinating.. Lake Tipsoo is about 40 miles off the flight path. The image in the comic was pre hijacking. However, I thought that maybe the comic's author had met Cooper somewhere while he was in the US in the 60's.. The comic's author was also in Florida pre hijacking researching a story.. His MO was to travel solo or maybe with his wife to a specific destination do research and take lots of pics to put together a story.. He even visited the Boeing plant.. He had lots of connections in military and aviation and was given special access... Ultimately, it might just be the mother of all rabbit holes...
  13. I recall Tom saying he looked for Rubber band evidence and found nothing.. but, how long is the gooey stage.. say the money landed there in '72 gradually went gooey and passed to the more brittle stage to be found in 1980.. What is the time frame for different environments? The gooey process occurs with time but is sped up by UV and heat. Too many variables to pin down. Also, Cooper could have lost the money in the jump, it was found by somebody as lots of people were searching for it. They didn't turn it in and then it made its way into the River intentionally or unintentionally...
  14. On the left,, is Mount Rainier and Lake Tipsoo in Washington State.. On the right,, is an image from a Dan Cooper comic... The author visited the PNW in the 1960's.. including Seattle, area landmarks and the Boeing factory. Did Cooper cross paths with the author or is it just a coincidence..
  15. Were the bands still gooey or had they passed through the gooey stage.
  16. Here is Palmer pointing to the money spot with a pen in 1980,, look at the shoreline,,
  17. All Cooper bill serial numbers were entered into NCIC..
  18. $20 bills in 1971 would be more like $100's today... not checking $20's today is irrelevant. If bills got past the first point they would still circulate for many years potentially being discovered.. the fact that none were ever found suggests Cooper lost all the money, never passed it in the US or it was stashed. The money was in packets of 100's, evidence supports being strapped, those packets were rubber banded into bundles of random sizes.. so, 3, 4, 5 or ? packets to a rubber banded bundle. That is how it went to Cooper. The FBI said the TBAR money was in the same order and packaging as given to Cooper but they also said they were holding back that information in 1980. Time alone will make a rubber band go gooey.. so how long can a rubber stay gooey? If a rubber band goes gooey in less than a year but remains gooey for another 8 years that doesn't help us.. How gooey were the bands,, were they just essentially glued to the paper but not pliable. Hard to sort out with limited info.. Two things we can assume.. The money arrived when the rubber bands were good. The money arrived in a spring '72 to '79... That suggests the money arrived closer to '72 unless the rubber bands were replaced by somebody.. I have two competing theories,, one has the money arrive in April '72, the other in spring '78 or '79... No, the money was't planted, the TBAR spot was below the high water line and was underwater seasonally... if somebody wanted to plant money that would be the worst place, lots of better places to plant or bury money. The money was either intentionally discarded or unintentionally lost to the River.
  19. My response was addressing the fact that the Ingrams said the rubber bands were brittle and broke apart when touched. If there were some gooey bits also then that means both brittle and gooey parts.. Reading up on this,,, a rubber bands natural state is gooey but exposure to oxygen or substances leach out ingredients which are introduced to keep them stretchy and firm. As they leach out the bands become gooey.. their natural state. The processes that can do this may vary depending on the specific chemistry of a rubber band... So, this is really tough to nail down.. it will simply be time and/or a specific environment can speed the process..
  20. I am working on something big..
  21. Yes, Tom is still on it, his equipment was broken.. I sent him a Penny's clip on tie from the same era and material, Dacron Polyester to test for particles from manufacturing.. some of the particles found on the tie are used in the production, dye process and for retardants..
  22. The sequence from the files.. Cooper hands Flo an envelope with the note inside,, Miss, I have a bomb... MISS is printed, the rest is neatly written.. The envelope is plain white with no writing or markings. Flo writes Cooper's demands on the envelope. Flo takes the first note and envelope to the cockpit. Cooper asks for them back and Tina calls the cockpit. The note and the envelope are returned to Cooper. Effectively both notes.
  23. Found it,, Flo wrote his demands on the envelope, then Cooper demanded the return of the first note and envelope which had his demands on it..
  24. After watching Chaucer's smear video of Rataczak,, passionate wouldn't be first word that comes to mind..
  25. Chaucer removed his insane youtube attack on Ratatczak after I posted it here.. Rataczak is probably the most solid and honest guy whose account never wavered. Chaucer needs to discredit Rataczak for his "theory" to work.. then he attacks me, the messenger from Shutter's site.. I don't think that is an appropriate use of that forum for a moderator.. I knew that forum would suffer with Chaucer as a moderator.. he is unhinged and actually threatened me here on this forum.
