You should see my cat when he plays with Shrews. I can sit out on the back porch and watch him for hours! Once he snatches one out of the field he'll bring it back. Let it crawl around while he stalks it. Then he'll pick it up in his teeth, throw it up in the air and smack it across the yard with his paw, then repeat the process until it's unconcious and no longer entertaining...then...CRUnCH!!! I don't like it though cause he leaves a little ChainSaw Massacre(sp) style blood bath on the front porch the next morning. Little hearts and intestines strung about. I usually give him a kitty treat afterwards. Very impressive

Do you think this is too high for a first time jumper, on a solo jump? Or is anything under 1.0 perfectly safe for students?

Ok, I was a TERRIBLE snoring machine from the time I was born until around a year ago. Anyone that is a chronic snorer knows how annoying it is when someone wakes you up and tells you to stop snoring...LIKE WE CAN HELP IT! Don't tell him to stop snoring, because he can't. Just wake him up, then immediatly try and sleep, and get to sleep before him...like a race. Now, about a year ago I went to a doctor about my snoring, he stuck a fiber-optic camera up my nose to look at my adnoids and they were twice the size as normal. And that was MY normal size, and the cause of my freakin loud snoring problem. I had those removed and now I rarely snore, and if I do, it's very quiet. It scared my dad for a while because he thought I stopped breathing...

I just said Depends on the Mood. I listen to EVERYTHING. Mostly I listen to country, but it just depends on who I'm with. Most of my friends hate country so we listen to Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative etc. I don't often listen to Rap but occasionally I get the urge.

Then again, if your doing this just for fun not competition...jump with your buddies and have a blast! Make sure you are all able to control your selves very well, since all 3 of you are low-timers there is an increased danger.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was beginning to wonder if I was part canine

LOL, if I took off my Brain Waive Conservation Cap (aka aluminum foil hat) they could read my mind instead of tapping into satelites and watching the Playboy Channel

Can anyone here tell if a TV is on, even when the volume is all the way down and your on the other side of the house? I have always been able to tell when the TV is on cause I can hear this really quiet high pitched ringing. I get weird looks sometimes when I notice this...

Naw, and if you guys haven't heard of it, it doesn't exist. She HAD to have been reading about a CYPRES or something. Keep in mind she knows very little about gear other than what she learned in her FJC I just wanted to verify the fact that she doesn't know what she's reading...

Keep drinkin the booze, you'll warm up

Ok, my mom called just to say hi, and she mentioned that she saw a Reserve Rip-Cord in ParaGear catalog that actually cuts the reserve closing loop instead of pulling a pin. I have never heard of such a thing. The only thing I knew of that cut the closing loop was a CYPRES cutter. Now my mom (and I love her dearly) has much less knowlege of skydiving gear, so I'm wondering if maybe she mis-interpreted the ad? Is there such a thing as a closing-loop-cutting reserve rip cord?

I know how you feel. I hate driving up to the DZ (3 hours 15 minutes) all by myself. And my friends have already been up there and they hate it (of course that's cause they couldn't jump). My best friends parents won't let him jump (he turned 17 in september...or october...) yet. He said he'll go up to the DZ again when his parents say yes (or most likely when he turns 18).

I just wanted to actually see a Mr. Bill. There aren't a whole lot of footage out there. The one on skydivingmovies.com wasn't that great, although I can imagine it's not easy catching an up close Mr. Bill 3rd person...

I started learning how to pack between jumps 4 and 6. Although I had already been watching people pack and had a general idea on how to do it. Don't worry, packing gets much much easier. I've got my pack time down to 15 minutes from 45...I still have a ways to go, but I'm sure once I'm packing smaller canopies it will help. I'm jumping a 290 right now. One thing I find that helps me a TON! is to lay down on the canopy before you start S-folding to squeeze every last bit of O2 out of there. I know most people do this already, but if your having trouble getting it in the bag/container, it might be because you have too much air in the pack job.

I saw an episode a couple nights ago and these two chicks had to eat Horse Rectum....I don't think I could ever recover from that... Hey would ya look at that, I'm an Old Hand...when did that happen?

Does anyone have one and can you post the link?
-
Well, while they are accelerating wouldn't they have a "pointy end". When they're at terminal, they are mostly spherical, but when they first form and begin to fall...ok I'm thinking out loud

Hehe a race to the Finish

You won't have any problems flying your canopy. You will actually have a leg up on other First time canopy flyers because you have 3 landings under your belt, others have none! I took the static line course and canopy flight is a synch. Don't even worry about it. You'll have a radio and someone will talk you all the way through it; LEFT...stop....LEFT....stop....LEFT, your on final!, aaannnnnndddd FLARE~! Your gonna have a blast

Hehe, I know that feeling...sort of. It wasn't raining but it was extremely overcast, on the verge of raining. I had been waiting at the DZ all weekend to jump, and sunday evening the clouds got above 4.5K so I made a couple hop n pops. There was apparently a very thin layer of moisture or something cause it felt like I was walking in a hail storm. I pretty much just want to get current again so I can make some jumps with a buddy on the 18th. Thanks for the info!
-
I know you don't wanna be cloud bustin at least if your in the US, but what if the clouds are at 10K and there is light rain? Is it ok to jump if your below the cloud base?
-
Ok if jump tickets are $18 and that is mostly gas money....how much does it cost to fly to vegas? BTW HAVE FUN!!!!

Thanks for all your quick replys, I'm having one of my lazy'er dayz and didn't feel like looking up the info myself...
