Well the way I've noticed my CC works is this. My statement has two numbers, one is my actual Balance. This doesn't update until the invoice is processed. Then there's "Available Credit". It seems that when my card is swiped, it automatically deducts the money from my "Available Credit" on the spot. I've noticed this over the past year since I got the card. Then 1-4 days after the actual purchase, the information appears on my statement, and my Account Balance increases. It seems that the charge at the diner was never even sent to Cap1 until recently, as if the machine never made the call to Cap1.

I wish I could say that my parents only had sex, for me. But no, they were fairly audible on Mondays and Wednsdays...ugh *shudder*

Yeah, it's not cool to rip people off. It's the people that do such things, that cause my car insurance to be sky high, medical insurance to be sky high...pretty much everything is ruined by these people "Using the system in their favor", more like abusing the system...grrrr Yeah, it's not a big deal, wow $9. But when I have them reinstate that, they better not reinstate the $30 overcharge. I monitor my credit balance regularly, last time I looked, I only had $1.67 credit available...out of $500...hehe. If I had known that they were going to take an entire friggin month just to notify Cap1 that a charge had been made, then it would be a different story. I won't pay Cap1 for that diner's mistake. The $9 should have been deducted from my available credit immediatly...I don't understand why it wasn't, but oh well.

Ok, well it turns out that the charge may have been legit. I was up in WA LAST month, over a month ago...when my van broke down. I ate at a truckers diner while waiting for a ride. I did charge with a card. The thing is, it wasn't in Olympia where I ate, and even if it was just processed in Olympia, the amount of the charge should have been deducted from my available credit at the time of the swipe, like ALWAYS. Anyway, I may call them up to verify this and have then reinstate the charge, but leave the overlimit fee off.

I have my card right infront of my face....grrr. What is up with these peoples, use your own friggin CC!

Hope BoobieCootie doesn't check his credit history for a while... .... J/K brotha! Anyway, so yeah someone somehow charged a meal on my credit card up in Olympia on Sunday. My CC was basically maxed so that put it over the limit. I went to make a payment and I see that my account went over the limit and had a $30 overlimit fee tacked on to that. I was like...WTF! Not cool! I may have a habit of keeping my card maxed, but I am VERY careful about knowing where my balance stands. So anyway I called up Cap1 and talked to a really cool chick and she fixed the problem. The meal and the overlimit fee will be removed by my next statement. WHOHOOO! I thought I would have to go through a whole bunch of legal mumbo jumbo to fix it. Cap1 isn't as bad as I thought...

You are right of course. I would probably not take advantage of the situation, but it's fun to joke about it. You're right, some people's livelyhoods rely on vending machines and such. One while returning cans, the machine would spit out the can and say it couldn't read it, but it gave my 5 cents anyway. After a few times through, I noticed what was going on and I cashed in my ticket and let the manager know. I only made an extra 10 cents though so I didn't feel bad

Not if the machine gives him a refund out of it's own free will! Now if he had purposely broken the machine, that's a whole 'nother story

There have been a few threads on this subject, if you do a search or two I bet you'd find a lot of info. Here's what I got out of reading it. From what I read, it's best to store your main unpacked in a couple black garbage bags. Make sure they're heavy duty, and then seal them with duct tape to protect them from any moisture etc. and store it in your closet. The black bags will keep any UV rays out, and since it's left unpacked, it's not retaining any specific shape. Although I don't think it's hurting your main to be stored for a few months at a time packed up in the container. Like your rigger said, open high on the first jump just in case.

My mom and I both started skydiving at the same time. I don't know how far she has gone, I don't think she's on to freefall yet...anyway...even though she is probably the COOLEST mom in the world, it really drives me nutz when she sticks to me like a fly when at the DZ. I like to wander around and talk to different people, get on some good loads etc. But I feel so weird when she follows me around, smoking, and trying to be in all the conversations I'm trying to have with other people....it's like, "Oh and by the way, if you didn't think I was strange enough...meet my mom!"...I dunno...It's probably just me. I also have one of the lewdest moms...she's constantly sending me raunchy jokes via e-mail. When we go to restraunts she enjoys telling more raunchy jokes fairly loudly, we often get looks from the other people in the building...hehe. That doesn't bother me though, I enjoy BS'ing with my mom, there aren't many moms like that around. I like having that open communication, it makes it easier to talk about other things. I doubt many guys here went up to their mom and ask what she thought about you having sex with your girlfriend! One of my Ex's and I had been talking about taking that next step, and I felt it was important to get my mom's take on the subject. Her exact, or near exact words were "If you love her, then go ahead. Do what feels good. But don't have sex just to have sex." We never did go to the next step, but I felt better knowing that I wouldn't have totally creeped out my mom if she had found out on her own. It's important to have that open communication I think. And it sounds like you've done a great job
