I haven't really noticed any nervousness since around jumps 10-15 or so. But it wasn't until last weekend at jump 47 that I noticed that I wasnt nervous. On the way to altitude I was talking about how rubbing shaving gel on your paintball mask will keep it from fogging up. After that conversation I realised that I have zero nervousness. I don't have any fear either. Awareness and safety conciousness has replaced both.

No lie! I started about 14 months ago when I was 17, I'm now 18, only have 49 jumps and just got my A license. I won't be able to afford my own gear for another 6 months minimum, and I'll be financing the majority of it, most likely.

From what I've heard, most Balloon jumps require you to have a B license, other than that...a lot of people want to be able to say they had A, B, C and D, but you can skip if you want to save the $$. I just payed for my A license at 49 jumps, but I think I'm gonna also buy a B license within the next month or so, so that I can make a balloon jump if the opportunity arises at Eloy

What size is the canopy? It can be used as a kite, I've seen and done it. It's quite fun actually. If the wind is questionably high and you just HAVE to try it, tie yourself down or something. You can kite it in winds around 10-15 mph without worrying about being dragged about, depending on the canopy. If it's a monster skybarge, you'll probably be dragged around a little, but that's part of the fun right?

Ok so after 2 years of faithfull service to my employer Movie Maddness, it's time to get a real job. I put my resume in at a company called Merix, a circuit board manufacturing company of which my Father serves the IT department. He's been working there for a little over 15 years IIRC, he started in manufacturing, then moved to CAT Tooling where the boards are designed and refined, and is now where he is in IT. I got a call back on Thursday but I was up at KAS until Sunday. I just got off the phone with them and the very cute sounding Kelsey said that they require 1 year of manufacturing experiece, of which I have none. But, she said, since my dad has been working there so long, I have some leverage. He needs to convince a manager on the production floor that they need me, and the only way I can be hired is if that manager requests me through the temp agency. I have already called my pops, and he's got a few friends on the floor. All hope is not lost, but I'm crossing about everything I can cross 'cause I need this job. It comes with full benefits (I have absolutly no health insurance right now), and I need the money to pay for some classes and obviously support my favorite hobby Maybe I'll be able to afford to jump every weekend now Any good vibes are very much welcome and appreciated.

It's probably my fault, but my DZ never really encouraged me to proceed to my A license, I never even got the proficiency sheet thingy until around jump 30 or so. I just got my A this weekend at jump 48

As far as I know, there weren't any changes to the A license requirements, except it looks like you need 25 jumps instead of 20. But I'm pretty confident that the USPA has your app, and is just having a hard time catching up with the flood of applicants

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK there goes the fourth damned power failure of today. The computer I'm on right now is my dads computer, and he's got a ups, I don't have one can't afford it. And the stuff on my computer isn't THAT important. This is really pissing me off though.

It just really pisses me off that their negligence can cost me hundreds of dollars and lost priceless pictures, and important information and I can't do anything about it.

I'm sitting here at home working on some pictures and other things on my computer, and we just had our 3rd effing power failure! I'm getting sick of this shit! Our power company is not a very reliable one it seems, as we are always loosing power during the day. Does anyone know if you can sue a power company for damages to electronics or loss of important files/data?

haha, I have NOTHING in scheduler, NOTHING runs in the background but the necessities. I've always kept my power settings on ALWAYS ON, I do not use hibernate or any other such feature. When my comp was in it's previous case, it would overheat pretty badly, there was only about an inch clearance between the top of the CPU fan and the side of the power supply, the case would heat up pretty bad. Now I've got it in a much better case and I have a 120mm fan blowing at my video card and mobo, but I think there is permanant damage to the mobo...

WAKE ON LAN is off, there is no cable between NIC and mobo, is just in PCI slot. I do have broadband, but my comp will do this whether it is hooked up to the router or not.

Hey I could use an explanation... My computer used to turn itself on after I shut it down, and I thought it stopped... Well I just had power spike/outtage thingie that was just a split second thing but it reboot my computer. I turned my computer off in case it happened again, but a few seconds later my comp turned back on...so I turned it off....and it turned on. The only way to keep it off is to flip the switch on the powersupply. When this was happening before, I flashed the BIOS thinking that might help, but it didn't...I think something on the mobo is fried...

So you've already jumped and they haven't taught you how to PLF??? I recommend changing schools. We're your previous jumps Tandems? If not, you should have had groundschool BEFORE the first jump and they should have taught you PLF there.
