    Today's irony

This was not posted to say that I disagree with X event or I agree with Y event. It was only meant to give a world perspective of the US and some of the events that lead to a large chunk of the world not particularily liking the US. I will stand up and agree with the particular attack that you used. We have all been touched by that including my own family. ~Chachi

I don't believe you need a Navy to deploy on land which is the first place China would move. Asia, into Europe. Not like it will happen but just trying to point out a Navy does not determine a super power in the miliatary sense. ~Chachi

    Today's irony

I put this in here to answer your question of why these people hate America. If you are still shaken by the horrifying scenes of September 11, please observe a moment of silence for the 3,000 civilian lives lost in the New York, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania attacks. While we're at it, let's have 13 minutes of silence for the 130,000 Iraqi civilians killed in 1991 by order of President Bush Sr. Take another moment to remember how Americans celebrated and cheered in the streets. Now another 20 minutes of silence for the 200,000 Iranians killed by Iraqi soldiers using weapons and money provided to young Saddam Hussein by the American government before the great eagle turned all its power against Iraq. Another 15 minutes of silence for the Russians and 150,000 Afghans killed by the Taliban troops who were supported and trained by the CIA. Plus 10 minutes of silence for 100,000 Japanese killed in Hiroshimaand. Nagasakiby the Atomic bombs dropped by the USA. We've just kept quiet for one hour: one minute for the Americans killed in NY, DC, and Pennsylvania, 59 minutes for their victims throughout the world. If you are still in awe, let's have another hour of silence for all those killed in Vietnam, which is not something Americans like to admit. Or for the massacre in Panamain 1989, where Americans troops attacked poor villagers, leaving 20,000 Panamanians homeless and thousands more dead. Or for the millions of children who have died because of the USA embargoes on Iraq and Cuba. Or the hundreds of thousands brutally murdered throughout the world by USA-sponsored civil wars and coups d'etat (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Guatemala, El Salvadorto name a few). Maybe, and although the memory of Americans claims otherwise, someone may remember the USA attack on Baghdad where 18,000 civilians were killed. Did someone see it on CNN? Was justice ever served? Or was there even any retaliation? We hope that Americans finally begin to understand their vulnerability and the cowardly attacks and other tragedies that they have been caused around the world.

    Today's irony

China is and has been a super power for a long time. They have nuclear capability, chemical and biological weapons, a small but potent Navy, a large air force, the largest ground and tank force in the world. And it is all run by a bunch of people who don't care about the average person. Russia has been the US and worlds ally for a long time by keeping China from doing anything stupid. ~Chachi

    Today's irony

(and yes...almost all other countries are third world countries with the exception of a few original NATO states). Are you kidding me? What makes you think that most of the countries in the world are third world. This is such a silly statement I don't even know what to do with it. You think that you don't have any freedom in the U.S. because the gov't might read your email concerning how your loins are burning for Brooke Burke or some other DZ hottie?!?!? Unless you are planning on doing an attack on the gov't / citizens / interests of the United States...why should you worry? You should worry becasue once they start impeaching on your privacy in one way it will never stop. Meaning then why can't they tape your conversations? or video you? or any other form of surveillance they want. We have 1000 times more freedom here in the U.S. than any other country. Ask any military man....or woman...just how great the U.S. is. They will tell you the same thing, that the U.S. is the most free gov't in the world. The US is not the authority of freedom in the world. Most European countries are the way more relaxed than North American countries. Why do you think all other countries hate us???? Because they are jealous ! They are jealous of our freedom that we have. If you think that everybody loves America, you are dead wrong. Actually the rest of the world is not necesarily jealous of your freedoms, they do however hate the fact that the mighty US sticks its nose in everyones business and tries to determine how things should be everywhere. Why is there less terrorist threat for Canada even though we live basically the same lifestyle, only I would say better. I do support the US in many ways, they are the leaders in helping third world nations, helping with international cleanup disasters, and so many other things. But the US gov't could keep its nose where it belongs about half the time to avoid crap like this. How many Central American gov't fuck ups had to happen before they realized over throwing and putting in there own gov'ts doesn't work. The only true allies we have is our gov't. This statement is absolutely insulting to the rest of the coalition of forces that stood behind the USA in the war on terrorism in Afghanistan including the fact that by doing so these countries opened themselves up to potential terrorist attacks by being involved. I am sure the mothers and fathers of the 8 Canadian soldier that lost there lives there would love to here that you think we are not your allies and do not stand behind our neighbors to the south. I happen to have a huge respect for the American people. A very diversified and world knowledge leading people. But the elitist atitude of the above post bothered me. I hope I did not offend anyone. If I did PM me and I will edit to clarify anything. ~chachi (oops bolded wrong parts, i suck at this.

Vancouver was voted the most beautiful city to live in in the world. Not by us but by people who do this sort of stuff. It is very cultural, a city where most people love the out doors as well as "urbanism." Ummm, it is amazing. We have so much to do from skiing, roller blading, you name it. Temperature will almost never go below freezing in the city, yet you can hit the slopes ten minutes outside of downtown. We have a decent night life, great restaurants (amazing sushi), a place you really have to see for yourself. ~Chachi *note chachi will post later from home, 30 minute drive away.

Some of the mountains do. Whistler / Blackcomb have glaciers that can be skiied all year around, and some of the peaks I have climbed have snow till really late in the season. ~Chachi

I think Vancouver might be a bit more than a 2 hour plane ride, although details like that are not so important. ~Chachi

There is snow ten minutes from Vancouver. We live on the edge of the mountains. There are 3 skiing mountains within 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. We could start with a little skiing / snowboarding. ~Chachi

Vancouver will barely ever get snow. If we do it will be for a day or two. The weather here is very mild, a lot like Seattle. We have so far had so little rain and beautiful days since summer. A real treat. SO are you coming? ~Chachi

  23. Here is an idea, I personally like off centre so here goes. Black/Black/Blackberry/Blackberry/Blackberry/Cobalt Blue/Cobalt Blue/Black/Black. Do this with white cells or something to add some brightness to it if you want. ~Chachi

    Film question?

It is a bit of a long argument but I don't believe there is are many proffesionals out there making money for magazines, books, portraits, poster, stc., etc., not using film. Maybe one day the quality will be comparable for enlargements but that is a long way off from being in the hands of all but the richest. ~Chachi

    Film question?

A pixel will never be as small as a molecule. I think digital is great for snaps and computer images to email, but I will always use film for large print reproduction. ~Chachi
