And I also think that everything she mentioned is a product of one thing, skydiving. Right on Dove,I have decided that a career in the medical field is what I want to do.I was approved for a grant yesterday and I start a course called "Medical Emergency Management" the end of this month.I spend a lot of time at hospitals and in emergency rooms due to my wifes health.She has Lupus and its pretty advanced and it sure helps when the people that work in such places are caring and helpful. I did get the Crew a case of beer- as I tumbled they were right there, and though I've never been one for panicing,... I did have an added sense of security in the knowledge of their being there! __________________________________________________ Yeah, the trust thing with my instructors helped so much.I never expected them to "save" my life,I trusted them to teach me to save my own life.If that trust thing had not been there,I dont think I would have continued the training. 1 more day and they cut this damn thing off.A bit of physical therapy and I am back in the air.I have a buddy that has 3 offices(physical therapy) so I am getting some high quality help for nothing but appreciation.Im so happy I could friggin wet myself.I gotta tell you ,I will NEVER forget the lesson I learned about low turns and my limited(very) knowledge of canopy control. I am still determined to be the first person to take a cat on a tandem. _________________________________________________ A guy told me about a cat makin a jump(I guess thats how I should prase that),and the cat got ahold of someones back and made it through deployment and rode the top of the canopy to a "safe" landing.I dont imagine anyone would admit doing it,I mean it aint the same as ol Brutus by a long shot.My point is,it DOES sound possible but I aint buyin it.(not out loud anyways. dropdeded ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

Got the story in todays local paper(Bakersfield Ca.)from saturdays jump at Vandenberg Air Force Base.Comes with a huge picture of one happy ass dog,Ron's carrying Brutus and a just jumped canopy.Also talks about animal rights activists "condemning"the jump as cruel and exploitive.No comment there. dropdeded ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

I know you´re not all therapists, but I really like your opinions, imagine you were in such an situation. ------------------------------------------------------------ OK,Im gonna do just that.I cant make the choice for you but if it was me,I am pretty sure I would know in my heart what I needed to do,I would make that choice and dude,have COMPLETE faith that things will work out for the best.Fu*k worrying about how its gonna effect your future employment.Take care of YOURSELF and everything will work out how its supposed to. I dont think this qualifies as a control freak but I have had several long periods between jumps and had to take refreshers ,ground and jump.I have very limited experience skydiving,26 jumps, and I completely agree with and understand the recurrency process.I mean shit,I do want to survive EVERY jump.My problem is when an instructor holds on to me during exit.My reaction(in my mind) as soon as we do exit is"let me the fu*k go so I can get stable".Not an issue or a problem here,just a comment. dropdeded ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

Man, you actually gotten a ride up in the C-182? I've requested it several times, but every time it nearly happens, enough people show up to do a load in the King Air. Yesterday, we actually had a six-person load in the King Air. I don't think they'd normally do that, but George was training a new pilot. You better believe we got to altitude in a hurry! ________________________________________________ Yep,a couple of my aff dives were out of the Cessna.Those slow days(not to often) is when Will sends it up.I rode with George piloting on a 182 ride.What a blast."what are you doin George?"."Im lookin for the dz"Well,I guess you had to be there. dropdeded ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
