Reading all this stuff really makes me realize how little I know about canopy control(26 jumps),I am definately going to remember and practice the things you guys are posting and do some experimenting,with plenty of altitude.I have been concentrating on the freefall mostly but hearing the importance of knowing how many different ways there are to control that thing above me saving my life really catches my attention. Im like Chili in respect to not having a problem bein around the shit .As a matter of fact,I work for a band,workin the door,settin up,and I can sit in a bar and Im o.k.The band even played a gig at the dz the same day I busted my leg.It does look fun,drinkin and whoopin it up but I dont romanticize it .I dont judge others that choose to use stuff that I dont,it aint my business.I personally cant handle life and alcohol together.I cant forget that.One thing though,if Im in a bar,at a dz,whatever,and Im not comfortable,Im oughta there. Your wife simply wants to see how she "measures-up" to your former squeeze. Men are more insecure when it's the other way around. Your in a public place with your wife and you run into an old girlfriend.What do you do???I was at a hockey game last night with the wife and kids and I ran into an ex.We talked a little bit(I was alone).When I got back to the wife I told her "remember I told you about...".Im honest with my wife and just in case we were to run into her in the future,well,you know.Man,next thing I know,she HAS to see her.WTF ?Im thinkin I should have kept my mouth shut but bein as she just moved back in town we may just run into each other again I thought I was playin it safe. Alcoholic ? yeah, that would be me.I can honestly say that skydiving helps keep me sober.I've been clean and sober almost 4 years . I am NOT the type to limit my drinking to after Im done jumping.It took me forever doing 1 aff jump a month and I knew that if I was drinking that skydiving would not be a possibility for me.I still buy my beer when required. Any hockey fans out there?Got a local team?Tonight is the season opener for our local team,the Bakersfield Condors of the west coast hockey league.Bakersfield?Hockey? Yep, we kicked ass last season.They got this remote control helium filled blimp that drops tickets for free shit and my buddy is flyin it tonight,this oughta be interesting,he had an hour to practice yesterday and a couple hours this morning.The usual "pilot" cant be there.
