  1. doh... how do you get the rat to go to the tiles after you have them lined up? I have the tiles laid out but the rat thing won't go to them.... use the empty diskette case to trap the rat ... 4. Either foot in the V is good. Great comment, though. I like Cessna's, especially when it's a 4-way in a 206 (normally we put 5) - old home week. It's very personal and comfortable provided nobody is a big mutant giant. Longer ride if you're feeling social. Or it's a narrow body Cessna - that's just too small. The Otter is gone and the Porter is gone soon too. Then back to Cessnas for the winter..... ... 5. Reference frames can also be moving as long as they aren't accelerating. So this also applies and the physics still works. (i.e., you moving relative to the earth is -120 MPH, the earth moving towards you is +120 MPH = the effect is the same.) I don't remember who was being anal, but in contemporary reference frames, we fall 'DOWN' so the deceleration would be from -120 to 0 mph in a 'very short time'. Do I win a prize? ... 7. I find for new people on Cessnas that if the guy sitting in the V (crotch, strut, etc) gives the count (instead of the person across from him - the 'student position'), it goes smoother. That way he's pushing off and isn't late and thus pulled off. Everyone else has a pretty easy exit. Also, a Stair Step diamond or a meeker is very clean out of a Cessna. ... 8. PM'd you, but here is my list and it helps. Sitting in the back is also good so you get on early and avoid the crush of fighting for overhead space. 1 - TSA policy - you have that 2 - USPA Membership card - you have that 3 - Delta policy on carryon - you have that 4 - Most recent cypres card content - attached here I got this last from another DZ.commer, very helpful here isn't it? that should do it good luck ... 12. nice - here's one from my Colorado trip three weeks ago if you like that sort of thing. Pretty easy for 5.10, lots of "texture". Are you wearing just sneakers (for sneaking)? If so, you'd really like climbing shoes. I don't have them, but a climbing instructor friend of mine in Estes Park says Mad Rock shoes are very good for the money. 13. RW at 3500 (unless it's a group bigger than 10) FF at 4500 However, when we get new people that want to break early, I just tell them to break at what they are comfortable. They have to take care of themselves. What else do we do? Hold them in the formation for another thousand? We've done a couple three way points after the newbie breaks - then track. It's all good. But here, you need to make sure that all understand what the newbie is doing - is he moving away and dumping in plain sight? or is he tracking and dumping? It's important that we don't get under him. I don't care, so long as everyone knows ahead of time. I'll still watch him out of the corner if you know what I mean. The 4-way team is pretty experienced and we break between 3500 and 3000. Usually sitting in the harness at just around 2000 sometimes slightly lower. But I learned under static line and am very comfortable there. With the otter students, their first hop n pop is at 3000, maybe the first time they have ever exited below 10000 ft. I can see the concern and expect them to get comfortable with their new hard deck as they advance. But some never do - it follows the same people as are uncomfortable with spotting for some reason. ... 15. Yes, and I'm very enthusiastic towards anyone who asks. It is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Afterwords, though, watch out just walking around - it's amazing how much you get used to having glasses protecting your eyes. I know a guy who walked his eye right into a branch after the surgery - messy. I almost did several times after mine. The shield is gone. ... 16. Sorry Arlo, my first paragraph was in response to Liffy's note that you took exception to. Liffy - I would fork over 2K for that experience provided each of my teammates participates. Definitely a team experience as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't want to show up and do the pick-up thing. In that case, I'd just go tunnel time. But right now, I need more tunnel time so I'm your page there. The in-air stuff is for later when we get a bigger team commit ($$$). ... 17. It's been about 5 years since the Lasik (fantastic procedure). I have no issues with forgetting the goggles - with the frap hat a lot of wind gets to the eyes. They do dry out. I'm sure at first, it would be a huge deal as the recovery curve left me with very dry eyes for a few months. So go cautious while the eyes feel dry. What did the doctor say? ... 18. I think the Perris site was just featuring that SP (super coach, world class) was participating as a coach. I doubt it implied that the other coaches already on staff were any less capable. I understand Liffy's perspective, it's hard to 'unlearn' old habits generated over thousands of jumps. A lot of tunnel time = a lot of muscle memory exercises and helps the basics. Maybe people with a lot of jumps need to hit more tunnel and then these refresher days are more effective when tied to the 4-way in-air coaching. I'm still trying to keep from falling into old body positions, especially when a dive is going fast. It still sounds great. I wish I had the vacation time and the $$$$. ...
