  1. I lied, there is a 'one size fits all' solution and it's guaranteed to lose weight almost instantly. cut off a limb ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  2. I read the book and if you read the book, what you said is exactly the point. He just goes overboard on other stuff and those that don't have matching metabolisms are bitter that this diet doesn't work for them so they are rather vocal. And the 'synopsis' are usually written by people who didn't read the book either and think it's just a eat all the cheese you can 'diet'. same comment This diet plan works for some and not others, just like everything else - (there is no 'one size fits all' approach to metabolism people, just good rules that may apply - you have to find the ones that work for you)? I'm back to my french fries. ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

  5. Mmmm - I'm eating trail mix right now - lots of carbs mmmmm (munch, chomp, munch) (however, I like Atkins for some reasons - good things: 1 - knowing your carb intake and choosing your diet is ok, 2 - natural fats and cholesteral are fine the processed stuff is not, 3 - meat and cheese snacks are more effective than crackers for curbing appetite, 4 - the insulin affect on appetite is good to be aware of. All these things can be done or allowed for without formally doing Atkins. I don't like Atkins because I'm active enough that the diet makes me tired - I need more carbs. That said, I'll use induction once in a while anyway, but don't expect me to give up pasta for more than a couple weeks - I can kick start my metabolism any number of ways and combining that with exercise and portion control is still best and doesn't force me to any extreme measures. I'm skeptical of people bad mouthing it because of wacko veggie types......) Mmmm more trail mix ... 7. Different story here. After Kerry beat Bush, the Fed tax "roll back" and the lack of the rollback for the state, local and sales tax increases immediately cut my take home pay and that of many friends. So all of us and many friends had to quit skydiving - putting the DZ out of business and those families out of work. The steady rape of my savings and earnings was short lived since most of us at work had to be laid off due to outrageous requirements forced on my company. But that's ok, since there was plenty of work in the military and guard as terrorists immediately started attacking us the day after Kerry's Oath. On the third big attack that year we were waiting in line for cheese. REAL big moments I remember? Daughter's birth, daughter climbing the wall at the gym - her skiing the moguls first time - her making gifts for everyone and anyone. I remember my wife's first skydive and the first that I took her on a jump. First competition moments, first time scoring a double digit round..... ... 8. You know, if you can shoot off their belt so their pants fall down, they'll trip and fall. Then you could throw a butter knife or three to pin down their shirt to the floor. That'll work and give you plenty of time to take the golden idle and escape with the girl. They'll not get loose until its too late and the ravenous beetles will kill them for you. ... 10. You shoot someone in the groin and they bleed to death in a very messy and agonizing way. It's torture of the worst kind. If they live, a shattered pelvic and pubic area is completely crippling. Nice choice. But the response to always 'hit em in the nads' is usually a flip response or just a junior high mentality/posturing in action. I'm surprised how often I see this on these forums. However, I think Jason, in this case, is likely just being flip here as he's not one of the childish posers here. ... 12. I see two different assumptions here: 1 - The robber is a poor downtrodden type, but actually good of heart, just trying to quietly take enough to feed his 17 kids and he wouldn't hurt a fly except that lifes been tough - oh please don't hurt him! it's your fault you have stuff and made him jealous. DON'T SHOOT 2 - The robber has the poor morals and total disrepect of others to break into your house - and you have no idea whether he will or will not kill or hurt you and your family. So you have to assume the worst because he's already given evidence of the worst by breaking in in the first place. SHOOT. And shooting is not an exact science, so if he dies or not, it's his fault. I'd go with the second assumption. And not give the opportunity for him to touch my little girl. And if I didn't have a gun, I'd use a sword, and if I didn't have a sword I'd stick him with a fork, and if I didn't have a fork I'd use a board with a nail in it, and so on and so forth. I'd like to see how people with families answered compared to singles. It's completely different when you are responsible for others. ... 23. you minx - Still hoping for nationals this year and we have a friend moving out there tomorrow so room and board is already covered. Going away party is in 6 hours Dre's shoulders will heal eventually, it's a shame. For gosh sakes, he's only 29 He did get to jump in Australia with my other old teammate (on the team she got on doing high teens right now - but I'm not jealous) good news - I was called today by one of my first choices for the slot and he's in. So only one day to fill the slot and we are up to 4 people a camera commit and one alternate for team and one for camera - And our new point is coming to tunnel in April. He's new (less than 1000), but wants to jump and has the money to really commit. So 3 of 4 to skyventure..... other good news - and we have our first sponsor. More good news - Sarah might have a real job (good interview yesterday), so if I give her some frequent flyer mileage - maybe we can have the entire 4-way in for tunnel training..... Still, I think any meet average over 10 is still out of reach with having a new lineup, but we'll work it. Also, my IC and his wife are expecting in August and I'm thinking that that might affect attending the regional meet and nationals. But maybe not bad news - cloudy and raining all weekend - can I come out to jump the helicoptor? I promise to do a little dance and jig also. This is the worst winter ever, 4 jumps total. I'm stopping as this has moved to talkback material. I'm plan on posting questions about our problem blocks soon once we get our first few practices in. That'll be better for this forum. ... 24. I'm not sure why you think that. If USPA's rule was along the lines I stated, Ron's objections would, I suspect, go away. It would still allow for a training or amateur class of competition, and allow someone who'd been out of competition for a while to get back in again. Sorry, J - I was originally replying to Darkwing saying we shouldn't have but a single class and the heck with the benefits of having junior classes. You were speaking to Ron's issues but quoted me from that other, short line of discussion. Thus "nice point" in reference to your discussion concerning Ron's position but, "doesn't relate to the quote" in reference to what you'd actually quoted. That's all. (from what I can see we all think you're point is a valid method - and I think if we define a PRO as someone who's placed in OPEN, then that makes it pretty clear.)
