Do you think we ever really landed on the moon?
ypelchat replied to freeflychris's topic in The Bonfire
Didn't NASA recently "lost" the recordings? How convenient. It's all just one big hoax. How the hell could anything land on the moon? If one would land on the part we see from earth (the bottom of the moon), they'd be upside down and fall back down into the earth. If they land on the side we can't see, it would be too dark for them to see shit and one would bump into things and probably hurt oneself. It doesn't make sense. I recon it was shot somewhere in the New Mexico desert, and people, being the sheeps they are, bought it as being real... How pathetic. Hey Frenchy! Be good to NASA ummmkay! Since the legs of the LEM, were built in Canada, there's no reason to have any doubts about the lunar landing. EDIT: to add a link, http://www.herouxdevtek.com/aboutus/history.php The first man-made part to ever touch the moon soil, was made right here, in Montreal Canada? Yves. -
First impressions of the Spectre 135 - Interesting Openings
ypelchat replied to Chris-Ottawa's topic in Gear and Rigging
I think you've been watching too much of this Star Trek stuff lately! Anyway, you've been given plenty of good advice here. And I'm sure the instructors you have at your DZ, are competent too, and they sure can give you good guidance in your decision making. Listen to them, as they're the ones who will watch you handle your canopy, and watch your landings. All I know is when we begin in the sport, we all feel this compelling rush to downsize. Downsizing is cool.. right.. Give yourself time. Step by step. Canopies can be sold easily and rapidly. Gear can be sold easily and rapidly. A broken back, or femur don't heal just as fast.. In the end, you're the owner of your "landing gear". It's up to you. You do what you want. -

The laws of physics apply anywhere in the world, even for us canadians! Yves. -

SONY started making those batteries back in 2004.... For the moment, only DELL computers are affected. BUT, since Sony manufactures OEM batteries, for MANY more computer makers...This could only be the tip of the iceberg..... Only for the DELL brand, the estimated cost for SONY to replace the faulty batteries, could reach 430 millions$... Yves.

These "kites" are actually ram-air parachutes! See the attached image for an example. Source: http://v-trips.com/images/personal_images/kap.pdf (This is a Acrobat pdf file which may take several minutes to load.) Looks like an old Strato Cloud! Yves.

The information you have on the Canadian prime minister... is...humm....a little.... let's say.. outdated. Bono got his picture taken, with Canadian prime minister, Jean Chretien. http://radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/Index/nouvelles/200311/11/001-U2-chretien.shtml The current Canadian prime minister is Stephen Harper, and the Canadian prime minister before Stephen Harper was..... Paul Martin. Yves.

Can I vote twice? Yves.

It would have been just another day at the DZ...

Must have been pretty hard on your "landing gear". Yves. -
Welcome to the ever growing, shrinking hairline club. No big deal. Your hairline may be shrinking... no problem... as long as the brain does not shrink too! You should be OK. Yves.

Yup!

Ouch! Adobe reader Update, on a dial up connection! Look no further... The Adobe update is like 10-15Mb or so..... depending on the language you're installing. You should begin this update when you're going to bed.... When you wake up in the morning, it should be OK!!! I mean... Adobe just can't live with a 100K update. They like to transfer the whole thing.... Yves.

I almost peed in my pants reading this! Good story JD. Yves.

For some time, it's been a challenge among the KLM pilots, as to who can land the 744 the shortest..... I'm not sure KLM's management appreciate this, though...

SXM runway is quite short. Want a short landing on St. Maartens beach...... Here's one. http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1078774&size=L&width=1024&height=695&sok=&photo_nr=&prev_id=&next_id= Yves.

Testosterone and epitestosterone are naturally and normally produced by the human body (male), at a ratio of 1/1. 1 part of testosterone, and 1 part of epitestosterone. Apparently, Landis had a 11/1 testosterone vs epitestosterone ratio, in his urine samples... The accepted levels were set at 4/1 maximum, to give the athletes a "safe" margin... Furthermore, it was determined that the testosterone found in Landis's urine samples, was synthetic (i.e not naturally produced by the human body) So, unless it is proved, without a doubt, that the Landis samples have been sabotaged or tampered with, in any way, prior to testing, then it is reasonable to say that Landis was, effectively, a doped athlete. EDIT to add: It doesn't matter how many times you get laid! Yves.
-
Yes, elevated. But couldn't winning the TDF elevate your testoserone a bit? I mean, they guy DOES have nuts. Yeah! Supernatural nuts. They produce synthetic testosterone, Yves.

Michel Fournier Postpones Le Grand Saut Until 2007
ypelchat replied to a topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like you, i have my doubts Michel will ever be able to do the "Grand Saut"... I think Joe Kittinger's jump, will remain in the world book of record, for a long time. Yves. -
I think you're not the only one. One of our jumpers, here at Atmosphair ( "pbilodeau" on DZ.com) is a paraplegic too. He now has over 150+ jumps, and is a B licence holder. Yves.
