  1. Yup.... The gas price went through the roof today, in Quebec city. Yesterday, it was $4.95. Bad news for us skydivers... Yves.
  2. Does the LCD display screen get all banged up? Those things seem to be kind of sensitive and easily ruined. What's the black bar running diagonally across the earpiece - some kind of rigid protection bar to keep the LCD screen from getting all banged up? Yes! In fact, they're just oval drawer pulls, that I installed over the Pro-Track (now a Neptune! ) to protect the LCD from being scratched, and also to prevent the risers from knocking the Neptune off the helmet. Losing a few of them, can be costly. Yves.
  3. Here's what i did to my Protec. Yves.
  4. Condolences to the family and friends of Egon, Piers Krystal and Bruno. I've never met Piers Littleford personally, but when i bought my Vortex II container (Piers was working for Parachute Sytems, in South Africa, at the time), I wrote him several times, and asked him technical questions about the Vortex II container. He was always willing to help, and answered each and every questions i asked him.
  5. One easy way to protect a Pro-Track or a Neptune, when you install them on a Pro-Tec helmet, is to buy a couple of 1/2 moon drawer handle at your hardware store. You may have to bend the handles a little, though, so they'll fit nicely over the audible. Your risers will never knock your Pro-Track off of your helmet again. Hope this helps.
  6. In preparation for his upcoming stem cell self-transplant, to treat his multiple myeloma cancer, my brother was instructed to go today to the drug store, and buy 10 vials of a drug called Neupogen.... at a cost of $7500.00 for the 10 vials. Stem cell research, currently provides the best hope of survival, for multiple myeloma cancer patients.
  7. I had problems with my wireless network until i parted with my Panasonic 2.4ghz wireless phone. I bought a 5.8ghz phone instead, and it was OK. If you still have weak signal, do a search on ebay, and buy yourself a higher gain antenna. I have a Linksys wireless system, and there's a lot of aftermarket antennas for Linksys wireless systems to be found on ebay. Yves.
  8. Some SUVs are quite small and get relatively good mileage for the bad aerodynamics they have. I think there is a lot to criticize in vehicles that get lousy mileage, but the SUV is usually singled out, and that doesn't make sense. So let's pick on all vehicles that guzzle gas, not just the SUV. You're right.
  9. Yes, I'm a skydiver too. I jump out of airplanes, but I also know that we should not take everything for granted... I'm not questioning what we do... I'm just questioning the way we do it... Yves.
  10. Why do people pick on the SUV? What about large trucks, vans, high performance cars and large luxury cars that also get lousy mileage? It's just a matter of responsibility... I traveled many times in the U.S.A, and, honestly, I have always been surprised to see that most big American S.U.V's i've seen, traveling in the U.S.A., only carry one person/vehicle, at most.... Yves.
  11. The European Union point, is moot! Whenever a new aircraft is launched, we should all be proud. Wether it's from Boeing or Airbus... We will all benefit from their research and achievements. The whole world is moving toward the same direction, just as these two companies are heading to. Better fuel efficiency, less noise, more passengers carried, longer range, less polluting engines, anyone has better ideas??????????? Competition is good!
  12. Nahhhh ! Here's what you should get, for two reasons: 1: Needs no fuel to operate. 2: You don't have to worry about having a heart attack, trying to start it. Yves.

  15. I think it's a very good idea to learn as many languages as we can. Learning two or more languages, will certainly help you to get a better paying job, and will give you an edge over other applicants for the same job. I was born in Canada, but my parents moved to Vermont when I was a child (that was 37 years ago.... ....), and I've lived there for 5 years (Age 5 to 10). Both of my parents spoke french at home at the time, but I spoke english at school and with my buddies... So, for some time, I was neither good in english, or french... These days, my english is not as good as it was when I was living in the U.S. But I'm trying to practice it as much as I can. French is NOT an easy language to master, but it remains a beautiful language to learn. Many of my childhood buddies still live in Vermont these days... And we get together as often as we can. Yves.
  16. I recommend the CCrane FM transmitter (with the power mod). Awesome! http://www.ccrane.com/fm-transmitter.aspx Here's the (very simple) power mod for the CCrane FM transmitter. http://www.xmfan.com/viewtopic.php?t=3257&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=5800229fefc44c8329d6e119b2d54cab I think the CCrane is the best and most affordable (unless you're willing to spend +++$$$$ bucks) FM transmitter available today. Wanna download the CCrane user's manual? Here it is:http://www.ccrane.com/knowledgebase/Downloads/FMTransmitterManual.pdf Yves.
  17. Fedex and UPS both have outrageous brokerages fees, that often double the cost of buying an item in the U.S. Yves.
  18. 1: Redemption Song. Bob Marley 2: The end. The Doors. 3: Supper's Ready. Genesis. 4: Wish you were here. Pink Floyd
  19. I've never bought anything from Amazon. But since she was born on the same day as me (and also Zenister), then I'm sure she's must be a seller you can trust! Just kidding. I've bought many things from Amazon.com, (mostly DVD's and books) and i've always been pleased with all of my my purchases. They have nearly everything in stock, and they deliver your order, right to your door, in just a few days. Yves.
