  1. It reminds me of similar situation that happened years ago, where a plane full of coin collectors, returning home after a coin collectors meeting, just barely took off the runway. They'd estimated the total weight of the plane using the regular weight charts. They didn't calculate the weight of the coins, that the people brought with them as a carry on luggage..... Yves.
  2. Have you ever been to Cuba miked10270? I have.. If you've never experienced the Cuban medical system, then I think you should keep your mouth shut, and not spreading the Cuban regime lies. Most of their advertised medical achievements, is just political propaganda........ But the reality is totally different. I know of a Canadian skydiver who got seriously injured there recently. The guy was transported to a hospital that has no nurse, no doctors, nobody........... No personnel at all.... He was left lying on a stretcher, for 8 hours, in pain. Nobody there to help him.... No pain relievers offered. Nothing........Basically, you're on your own...... His friends had to call to Canada, to have him evacuated by air Ambulance, so that he can receive proper treatment for his injuries............ He won't be jumping anymore...... Cuba............... Never again.... Castro is a dictator..... Just like many others...... Modern dictators exploit fears. They use fear against the people, to make them believe in their lies...... Castro may seem to have most Cubans behind him....... just like any other dictators. But in the reality, most Cubans are afraid to speak their mind against him. And if they do, they go to jail. Castro should go IMHO. He used Cubans to achieve his personal goals. The people there don't have any other choice, but to back him.... or they end up in jail. I have no sympathy for dictators, wherever they are. Yves.
  3. Unbelievable...... 33500 registered users..... This is the proof that DZ.com is the ultimate skydiving web site, and yes, I think HH should be pied, to thank him for such an achievement. I think WFFC 2005, would provide us DZ.commers with the opportunity to pie him! Thank you Sangiro for this wonderful place to hang around.
  4. I think it would be good to embed the original posting date of a post, to the post itself. Specially in the incident forum. This way we would be able to differentiate new incidents, from the replies on older incidents. Example: "Fatality at Kessler" (10/21/2004) and then the following replies on this thread.... RE: "Fatality at Kessler" (10/21/2004) Yves.
  5. It's OK. No need to shout! Good Luck in finding the owner. And if you can't find the owner, then i guess you'll have a new member in your family to care for. Yves.
  6. Sphinx cats are quite expensive. They sell for $1000.00+ Yves.
  7. I own a dog myself, and i would be pissed at someone keeping my dog, without doing any research to find the owner. Sometimes, childrens are in tears for weeks, looking for a dog that got loose but is nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, dogs often break their leashes. I think what you should do in this case is to post flyers in your neighborhood. You don't have to post a picture of the dog IMHO. Just post a general description of the animal. If you've got no reply within 3 or 4 weeks, then I think it's reasonable to say you could keep the dog.
  8. ~ i won't have to worry about mine... he's born-bald * me & my sweetsome will be adopting the black one on the right! yaaaaay! Sphinx cats! When you take these cats in your hands, it feels weird, since they have no hair. Yves.
  9. Eloy looks like a very good place to be for the holidays. I've never been there before (yet !) Urban legend or not? I've been told by a jumper who went there that the Arizona climate is much tougher on the equipment, because of the sand etc. He told me that a 500 jump canopy that's been jumped in Arizona, would look like 1500 jump canopy elsewhere. Is it true? Yves.
  10. We opened a web site for those who like to jump in the winter: The Order of the flying Polar Bears. To become a member, a jumper must have done a jump, where the temperature on the ground was 0 Fahrenheit OR below (-15c), and the jump must have been witnessed by a fellow jumper. http://oopv.free.fr/ Now that's winter jumping ! Yves.
  11. Condolences to his family and friends. BSBD Yves.
  12. Sorry for your loss. BSBD Yves.
  13. Are you refering to the one licking his comb? Yves.
  14. Not sure, but I think a pint is more like a litre. Isn't it? Maybe the Brits here could answer that question. Yves.
  15. Well if he upgrades to some sort of twin turbine and invites me for a visit I'll get that star next to my name Yves.
  16. Yes. I've noticed that the pages take a long time to load. Longer than before. I dunno what the problem is. Yves.
  17. I think it's good thing to add a Russian language forum. Just like it was a good thing to add a Spanish, French and German forum. Skydiving is a big family, and speaks many different languages. In the future, it would be a good thing to add an Italian forum, a Thai forum, and a Portuguese forum. Chinese would be a good thing to add too. And while we're at it, why not an Afrikaans forum? The more friends we have, the better our sport will become. This would be beneficial for DZ.com, and it could be a potential source of revenue for DZ.com, and that's a good thing.
  18. You've never seen a Toyota Previa? Toyota even makes sewing machines. Yves.
  19. It looks like they've been replaced by chinese characters of some sort... Yves.
