    It took me 11 jumps to get off the S/L and 17 to get up to 5 second delays. I didn't give up because I wanted it too bad. I'm doing better now. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    John, I know my post sounds like I've had a bad marriage. But nothing could be further from the truth. I was jumping before we met and I just told her up front that this is who I am and what kind of person I am. And that if she thought I would change the way I approach life, she would likely be very disappointed. She has been very supportive and sometimes when I'm in a crappy mood or stressed out she tell's me to get to the DZ and sort it out. She even spent most weekends at the DZ with me for the first ten years until she got bored. She has never jumped and has no interest. We have 3 unbelievably great kids and my son is a jumper and making a name for himself in our sport. We'll celebrate or 32nd anniversary this year. It can be done. it just takes comittment and balance. But for the OP: you're way too young to settle for someone who won't let you become the person you are meant to be.     Here is what will likely happen: After doing one tandem (and loving it) you'll give in to "her needs" because she just can't understand how you would be willing to put your "relationship" at risk for this immature and dangerous behavior. At some point you'll get married have a couple of kids and one of two things will happen. 1) you'll get divorced, loose half your stuff and both your kids and you still won't get to skydive because you can't manage the cost along with child support and alimony. or 2) you'll keep you mouth shut and join the ranks of millions of men who "live their lives in quiet desperation". In either situation you won't be living "your" life you'll be living the life someone else has chosen for you. Good luck. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    Hop in your car and drive down to the Skydive Expo in Deland. You will be able to demo almost anything and everything on the market. Especially canopies. And at the same time a factory rep will brief and debrief your landings, packing, everything. This way you can demo something on one jump and something else on the next. Grab a friend and share the driving and fuel. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    The MC10 does record in AVCHD (Blueray) and does have HDMI output. I have the older version and it is awesome. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    I sold a canopy to someone in South Africa. I had him do a direct transfer of funds from his bank to my bank. There was very little charge which he covered and between the two banks they made sure it was the correct amount for the exchange rate for that day. I got a call from my bank when the funds were in my account. They said they do this all the time. I shipped the canopy that same day. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    Now that the G-11 has been out for a while has anyone been using it? Or know anyone. And if so, can you report what you have found out about it? I'm especially interested in someone who jumped the G10 and is now using the G11. How do the pictures compare and how is the shot to shot speed? Posting some pics woud be great.     I'm not sure what his wing loading was but I onced watched Robin Heid land with roller blades. Didn't work out so well for him. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    I live 1.5 miles from a Costco. They sell the Sony tapes (with the rack) 10 for $23.00 and they have them every time I go for them. Sometimes they have a $5.00 off coupon. That's when I buy them. No shipping cost is nice. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

    If you buy a Pilot make sure you get the ZPX or you'll have a hell of a time trying to get into either of those rigs.

    Hi Ben. I've heard about you but never met. What I have heard, is that you are a stand up guy. The fact that you are asking tells you what must be done. As difficult as it sometimes is, you owe it to the skydiving community to inform this rigger of this error. Do it with tact, compassion and empathy.     I am definetly going to be there. I've had the chance to talk to some of the people who are organizing this event. The Expo is really geared for the average skydiver who wants to get up close information on the multitude of products available in our sport. And make some great jumps at the same time. And what better way to get the info than from the companies and people who actually make the product. And, oh by the way, you can make jumps on those products with some of the best organizers in the world. For those of us in the cold country this a perfect way to start the season.
