Rick, I sent an email to your gmail account with contact information. See you there. Sandy Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

There use to be jumpers that would give people to and from rides to the airport in Olando for a fee. It was pretty reasonable at the time. You could call the DZ and see if anyone still does that. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

If you are going to be around starting Thursday then I would definitely go to the Expo. It's geared for younger jumpers and anyone who want's to learn. Too much to explain here, so go to the web site and check it out before making your decision. www.skydiveexpo.com Especially check out the list of vendors who will have demo equipment available and check out all the seminars. Look under the "For Skydivers" tab. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

In the late 70s I gave my rig to my rigger completely packed he repacked my reserve and gave it back to me completely packed. I went to a DC3 (Skytrain) boogie and on the first jump (a 25 way attempt) ended up having to land my Strato-star backwards. Now that was fun!!! He became my "use to be my" rigger. We've got organizers for everyone as long as you're safe with at least 3 others in a group. Don't hesitate to find me. Part of my responsibility is to help make sure everyone who wants to be organized, is assigned to an organizer. That's what we're there for. See you there. Better yet. Go to the Skydive Expo in Deland (March11-14). Every major gear manufacturer will be there. You can demo everything there is in every size and the people who design the gear will be there to help educate you about it. Plus all the seminars listed are going to be amazing. www.skydiveexpo.com Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

also, this isn't always a good thing cause if the reserve flies like a diablo then you could be in a world of hurt. ************************* Even better would be the Nova........ Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

I have that same DVD and it is good. I recommend that you pack a few times while watching the DVD. That way you can pause it and rewind as needed during any section. PRO packing is the standard way of packing today, it seems to give the best openings. I have never psycho packed so I can't help on that one. Flat packing is discouraged, if for no other reason than it taking so much realestate in the packing area. Just curious. Not passing judgement, but do you actually have 25 jumps without any packing instruction yet? We start our students packing before they make jump number 4. By the time they have 15 jumps they are packing by themselves with general supervision. And totally on their own by 25 jumps. We also do not charge to teach them to pack. Remember that the 200 is just a base line number. I know people with 2000 jumps that shoudn't jump a camera.......... ever. Some people have it........... Some people will never have it. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Just a point of interest. I have two Katana 120s. My last 50 jumps on one of them has been with Scott Roberts' bandless deployment bag. The openings with that bag have been incredible. They are much smoother with no hunting noticed. I will be getting another one for my other Katana. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

That sounds like a good plan. I can help you out with some of that stuff as well. I'll introduce you to some people. Also if you're not sure where to stay, there are several skydivers in Deland who rent out rooms/ beds in their homes. It's a lot cheaper than a motel and you'll cultivate new friends in the process. One of them also does one on one coaching in the air and the tunnel. Let me know if you need contact info for any of those bunk rooms. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Hi Olaf. I saw your post about getting back into the sport. I'm from Iowa so I feel your pain about the winter. I'm the guy who runs the 4 way league competitions at Baldwin. I'll be at the Expo helping out with load organizing and seminars. Look me up. Sandy Grillet Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Wow . I'm watching the mens skeleton and an American named Sach Lund is using a black Z1. I'm just sayin. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

I know this probabaly doesn't belong here but I just watched an American woman using a Z1 on a Skeleton run. Her name is Noelle Picus Pace. It looks nice and is clearly a Z1. As she was lining up for her run she had the lens up and then put it down just seconds before her run. Just like an exit. http://www.theolympian.com/winterolympics/story/1144707.html Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Anyone have any other way of contacting them or know of a dealer who sells there altimeters? A little help..... thanks. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

How do I go about joining a skydiving team?
Skydivesg replied to trooper2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey trooper. After reading some of these posts you are obviously starting to see that skydivers, in general, have pretty strong personalities. I also think that a lot of them are too old to remember or have simply forgotten that when just coming to the end of the teenage years a person is all gung ho about any activity that peaks their interests. Some even forget that most things that teens participate in are called "teams", even if the activity is more about the individual. Swim Team - Dive Team - Golf Team - Debate Team - Tennis Team - Wrestling Team - etc etc. And maybe they don't remember that when we were younger and wanted to participate in something, we had to "join a team" to learn the activitiy. I'm glad you took the iniative to ask questions at the risk of getting made fun of or even taking a verbal lashing. I will tell you this: many of the people on this site, especially some of those with whom you might take issue above, are actually very knowledgable and have a lot of good information which they are often willing to share. Even if you think some of their attempts at humor are less than stellar. Hang in there and keep asking questions. More importantly don't let some internet forum dissuade you from pursuing your dream of "Human Flight". Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be. -
I really hope this is a joke. (Especially referring to your last post) If not, you need help! Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Come on down to the Skydive Expo. It would be a great time to meet new friends and get to know the DZ. www.skydiveexpo.com Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

I'd like to know about that too. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Helmet looks great Mike. BTW I've decided that I will get the G10 not the G11. So I will need the same plate as you. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
