  1. OK I know I've read something about this but using the search has turned up nothing for me. I shot some video today usinig my CX150. When I edited it on Vegas 9 and burned it using DVD Architec the video looks blurry/ghosting when there is any camera movment. This includes any movement of the subject like the canopy opening and the exit. The blurr does not happen when I watch the raw footage on my camera My camera is set to none on the IS mode. Any help? 2. Spot, I am really reluctant to do that. I've spent the last 2 weeks setting up Vegas for my edits. Many hours invested. How is it possible that DVD Archictect will show any thing other than what pops up in the options window? It won't let you put anything in that isn't already there for options. And the options are listed in my post above? (I made a mistake in my post -- 196 should be 192) There is no way to put in 48K, 16bit. Even if you try to overwrite it. I don't see how setting everthing back to defaults in "Vegas" will change the options for "DVD Architect". Maybe we're not on the same page here. Now, when I go to the properties in "Vegas" under "Audio", ---- "Master bus mode" is set to "Stereo" - "Number of stereo buses" is set to "0" - "Sample rate (Hz)" is set to "48,000" - "Bit depth" is set to "16" {maybe that's what you're talking about}and "Resample and stretch quality" is set to " Good" (should I set that to "Best")? Enlighten me. BTW did you see a tall skinny kid with a somewhat long pointy nose at MOAB? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  3. I let a friend who said he "Knew Vegas" help me set it up initially. Now I'm working through it on my own. When looking at the "disc properties" and then audio defaults it has "Audio Format" which I have set to "AC-3 Stereo" And then the options for "Bit Rate" are 96-112-128-160-196-224-256-320-384-448 What should I choose, keep in mind this is in the DVD Architect. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  4. My "Audio defaults" bit rate is set to 192. Is that the correct setting? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  5. When looking at my "project properties" in DVD Architect Pro 9, the video defaults (under "disc properties") shows Video format = MPEG-2 / Bit rate = 8.000 / Aspect ratio = 4:3 / Res = 720x480 (NTSC) / frame rate = 29.97 Should the aspect ratio be 16:9 ? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  6. How much does your book cost? Where can it be purchased and how thoroughly detailed is it? Would it be needed if I have your VASST DVDs? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  7. I went the long way and saved it to the desktop and then imported to the project and then drug it over. I'll play around and see if I can shorten the way you suggest. This shit's complicated for an old guy who has never done NLE. Thanks for all the help. Hopefully someone else is learning from all this. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  8. I've tried it several times but can't make it work. Any other suggestions? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  9. Once again you guys have come through. Now here's another one.... Is it possible to get a frame grab from the video in the time line and then move that frame grab (still picture) to another spot on the time line? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  10. Lot's of good help. Now.... I am editing an older video from a couple of years ago shot on a PC9. How do I convert the 4x3 into widescreen? And can I do it even though I've already edited it? Not rendered - just edited. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  11. OK new problem. I'm sure the answer is simple but here goes. (And I've searched til my eyes are buggy.) When I try to shorten a clip of music by grabbing the end of the music track and dragging it backwards it ends up dragging my video clip above it. I make sure only my music track is highlighted and it looks like it's working till I get it to where I want to stop and then suddenly the video track is overlapping the previous video track. I have the same problem when I try to do a split of tracks. It splits everything in the timeline. WTF%#$$!%!$%^%**%^& Help. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  12. Has anyone used this keyboard, which is designed and made for Sony Vegas? Just wondering if it would be worth owning. http://www.cwol.com/keyboards/vegas-dv-keyboard.htm Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  13. This is a great idea. I'm interested in the DVD as well. Please keep us posted. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  14. So if someone has Vegas Pro 9 what do they have to do to upgrade? Is it a completely seperate purchase? Or upgrade? How much? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  15. So what additional features are on Vegas 10 vs 9? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  16. I'll give it a try this weekend. Thanks Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  17. I've been using standard but when I move the camera quickly I get some serious flutter. I am pretty good at keeping my head very still in freefall and I don't take the camera off the helmet on the ground. Would none be better? I would love to experiment but when I'm at the dz I'm always shooting video for hire. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  18. I set it up as you advised. Should I set the field order to "prgressive scan" as you suggest on your training video or use the default "lower field first"? Is progressive scan for HD only? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  19. I heard you were at Couch but I didn't see you. Every time I walked by wing suiters I looked for you but had no luck. I would have really enjoyed just sitting and talking with you. I hung out quite a bit at Trunk's trailer and of course my kid and Mel. I'm sure they got tired of the old man. Thanks for the info....... and be prepared for more questions. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  20. I just got Sony Vegas Pro 9 and I have a ton of questions. Used the search function. No luck. I have the VAASST training video. Spot talks about setting up the video project properties but doesn't say which is best for tandem videos. I'm shooting on a CX150 in SD mode. Which is the best setting for typical DVDs in the Vegas video properties? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  21. Just show up. You know we can use you. I have at least threee teams looking. Let me know. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  22. OK, here is the official word on the WiFi. Tim Skyles of Skydive Iowa is providing the wireless internet. The cost will be $5.00 per day or $20.00 for the entire event. Wed through Mon (possibly even the first Tuesday, for those hi-way campers). He will have ample coverage because of the repeaters he is installing. To purchase the service, go to your internet connections and click on "Freaks Wifi" That will take you to the purchase page. Put in your credit or debit card info and purchase the amount of days you want. He is using Paypal for the payment, so it is a secure site. You do not need to have a Paypal account. This is just the method by which you will pay for the internet. Important: this service is being provided by Tim Skyles. Tim is not a Couch Freak member. Don't ask the Couch Freaks for info because they will just have to refer you to Tim. In fact some of them may not even know about this since it is brand new this year. If you need technical support you can contact Tim at (641) 485-3944 or tskyles@innovateiowa.com. He will be at the DZ the entire boogie. Now on a personal note: I've been attending this boogie for going on 30 years. It just seems "wrong" that they are going "High Tech". What's this sport coming to? Back in my day.............. oh never mind. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  23. Don't quote me but I think he said $5.00 per day or $20.00 for the whole event. That's for unlimited hgh speed Wifi. He said he is putting repeaters on all the speaker towers so the coverage should be great. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  24. I don't know. That would be a question for one of the Couch Freaks. My friend is not a member of their club he is just doing the WiFi for the attendees. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
  25. Yes. BTW do you feel a cold coming on???????? Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
