Hey Republicans - where are the spending cuts?
OHCHUTE replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
They are running it. It's the shadow gov't behind the curtain. Wall Street operatives wiith their lawyers and policy makers. Hell, there's no reason whatsoever to become a representative but to do insider trading. Just look at the photo of Obama and Romeny at the White House last week for their little luncheon. Who is the guy behind the door? Pretty symbolic that no one noticed that the real people running the show are not who you think are running it. Watch the close up of the zoom on the lunch. Creepy. http://video.msnbc.msn.com/nightly-news/50018453#50018453 -
It is Time to Repeal the First Amendment [on topic]
OHCHUTE replied to dmcoco84's topic in Speakers Corner
No we wouldn't have free speech. Look what Hugh Heffner went through in publishing his Playboy magazine. Busted for sending smut through the mail a case that went to the Supreme Court. The do gooders of the time couldn't stand the thought of having other people gaze upon absolutely georgous girls in their underware. And this was before total nudity was depicted. Now look what we got. If the law was abolished it's no telling what people would do to limit others voice. Someone got the hate speech prohibited. So we know laws for free speech are necessary. -

What? Fema wouldn't have any costs or costs are greatly reduced if Fema didn't have to pay to rebuild. For God sakes they gave people in NJ money for rent to leave their wreck and go somewhere else and the people took the money and continued to live intheir bombed out shack! There's never any stipulation when Gov't hands out the money. For instance they could have said: here's the rent money now leave. But they didn't do that so NJ is getting paid to camp out in their messed up house and I seriously doubt they've not continued to pay their mortgage. US tax dollars being wasted as the money isn't being used for what it was intended. Money wasted. So when is not looking at saving even 1% in many specific areas not a good idea as you believe, that anything so small saving is waste of time. ?????? I'm not getting your point. Sure 1% isn't much but a lot of 1 percenters might add up to billions. There's not one thing the gov't can cut that would cure this that cutting many percentages across the enterprise is the only solution. But if you think there is one huge 40 percenter or 80 percenter that can be cut to get the reductions you're looking for then that's your opinion. OK end social security. Won't happen. -

No, just don't rebuild after the storm wipes them out. This shoveling sand back to where it was then building a house on it is absolutely idiotic especially if they are not on stilts, like most are in the Outer Banks. You're not going to keep a rising sea out. Most are tired of hearing about the sorry people with beach homes, many second home to boot. -

Not allowing people to build on sand, or, better yet, make the insurance companies pay the claims might reduce federal expendatures A TAD from wide spread destruction from Hurricanes. We're getting one major storm per year now and there are plans to rebuild boardwalks, if you can believe it. Just reducing waste in gov't would save us a lot, Iraq and Afgan wars are sink holes and nothing will be gained there for all our effort/ expense. Cutting social problems would definitely help including: giving students: breakfast and lunch, free day care, free napsacks, school supplies, free college, free graduate studies, free money to reduce what the own on their house, free healthcare, an overpaid job where there is no work, or where they refuse to work. Too many on the dole. Result: nothing produced, just more expense. -
What's the difference between Egypt and the USA?
OHCHUTE replied to mpohl's topic in Speakers Corner
The difference is: Egypt has more unemployment. And if you don't have a job what better past time than to walk down to the square and join a protest. In DC most are working. Plus, with all the monuments on the mall, and more being built, including the peanut history museum, Irag memorial? Afgan? and Libia memorial?. with restrictions to standing there, tell me where you might wage your fight. OH in July is the 150th of Gettysburg. Maybe that's where you can wage your fight, in this cop ladden, and sherrif, state, local, park police society... try fighting. Hell Occupy tried camping as a weapon and couldn't even get that done. -
It more about the water supply than anything. The world ought to make Jerusalem a World Religious park and forget about who owns it. Make it owned by everyone to sell popcorn and sodas and even throw in the Sikh's and Buddah's. All this fighting and bickering, like a bunch of little kids. Tit for Tat. Palestine belongs to me and what are you going to do about it/. Blah Blah Blah, 2,000 years of this BS and they still can't get it right.

OHCHUTE replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
Facts are, whatever happens, middle class will get screwed. Rich will get off and poor will get more. The rich don't pay any taxes any way no matter any percentage of tax rate, so why does it matter to the GOP what the tax percent rate is? Dumb that GOP is taking the hardline, when money is in Cayman. Dumb Dumb Dumb. They are going to lose again and Obama is setting them up to lose lose lose. -
Many journalists are now backtracking indicating why they ever thought he'd be any good.

Sorry for any spoiler. It was meant more for people who saw the movie. I don't read reviews I just go see the movie. Perhaps you might try that so not to ruin your viewing experience. I was referring to projected color, not color effects of sky color etc. The copy you saw in your theater might have been better than the copy I saw.

Obama is up there talking small business, small business, small business extending Bush tax cuts for small biz to help small biz. Turn on your fax machine. I'll fax over all the resumes I'm getting from GE Lockheed, MD, Boeing as they've lost jobs and are now seeking work at non stock firms. I don't see multinational firms hiring anything soon as the market is tanking and adding employees wouldn't help earning. Small biz is key. If you don't think so then that is your opinion. And I respect your opinion. BTW: what are you doing?
-
Proof you have no idea what you're talking about. If it was "pretty easy to understand" then there would be no issue. There is no issue and it's easy. More people need to work. The reason the econ is in the tank is that 20 million are out of work. Romney as a rich corporate guy attempted to appeal to the small business/ middle class but lost votes doing so. Pretty easy. And Obama took advantage of Romney in that regard early in the race. Although economics are easy to understand what becomes issues are people interests and motivations. But those issues are easy to understand too knowing those positions. The guy on welfare even knows the way to a better economy is more people working, but unfortunately he nor people in his position can help the economy. Small buisness is key. Stock firms are anti labor to aid stock prices.
-
The economics are pretty easy to understand. There is really a war going on between who to support to drive the economy: 1.(Multinational/Labor Union- both in the same realm), 2, small business person and their non union worker, 3 welfare receipant, and 3 gov't worker (the new rich). If you aid #1 you will get what we've been getting for years-- less small business and less total employment. If you aid #2 then the economy will thrive as more jobs will be created. This is why Romney lost in part aside from other factors is that #1 is truly a job killer. Romeny was big business and that's how he made his money. And we are hamstringed by having DC owned by #1, the reason we are in the mess we are in. People seem to fail to realize that stock firms, and multinationals took business from small business the reason employment has dropped as small business went out of business. Did GM go out of buinsess--NO but thousands of dearlerships (non stock firms) did and they were small business. A thriving small buisness is the key, but stock firms own DC. Plain and simply. Small business does not have the clout as the multinationals. Look who is in the white house today talking to the President. GM, Walmart the largest of the largest stock firms, yet the President informed LABOR (Union part of stock firms) he won't touch middle class. So where is small business/ non labor in the mix-- OUT OF BUSINESS= no decrease in unemployment.
-
So your solution is more corporate welfare? I'm for helping anyone who will produce the most jobs., in this case it is small business not huge stock firms.

Let's get those fancy toy shrimp boats too and any toys the shrimp farmers have making all thay money off of shrimp. Taking toys, closing the toy factoy (Gulfstream) in Ga isn't a solution in ending protection for the wealthy. Aerospace is huge contributor to GDP. Total BS. Yet the Reps do need help, not this kind of help. Helping small biz and small banks is the thing they need to do and TALK ABOUT as that business is here. If they talk that game all else will fall in place. Changing the elephant to an eagle might help too. And switching from concentrating on the DOD we might focus on eductation since education sector produces more jobs than DOD. And no studying international business as we know all to well about international business Walmart= China's distribution center. Basically CHINAmart. Small banks and small business= thriving middle class

I agree that paying a high price for airline ticket might save other costs making the higher priced ticket actually lower costing than the low cost ticket. Lowering funding costs (tax dollars) for distributors loss profits in providing the WIC is a good idea. However that is done, either get Ms. WIC to pay more, or Delmonte to accept less, will help that effort.
-
[reply 49 cents is not a "lot of money. Times it by the millions of cans of corn and you have quite a sum that is wasted. Delmonte and other nultinationals run the WIC program. Just another way to gouge the taxpayer.
-
Shah? Reads more and more like him with every post; doesn't it? Not Shah? Lots of like mined people though. How am I doing?
-
First of, you started this conversation with Food Stamps. WIC is completely seperate from Food Stamps. The direct answer probably has more to do with the following requirement for eligibility (you are aware that manufacturers have to apply for eligibility right?): Lastly, from the WIkipedia Article on WIC and sourced there: Your posts reak of the typical throwing out of talking points without any effort of research or verification. I hit the talking points: why does WIC get the $1.38 can of corn when they can get 89 cent corn saving the gov't a lot of money. What is the elgibility in that? Oh OK I'll show up with GOLD RUSH CORN at $2.50 a can/ packed by delMonte and apply for WIC status on the basis GOLD RUSH CORN WILL TURN ALL THE KIDS INTO NFL FOOTBALL STARS as the idiots would really believe that. I get approval and go to the bank at the expense of American Middle Class property owners and tax payers. What talking point am I not talking about that letting them have 89 cent corn instead of $1.38. Delmonte, denied, store brand approved. Time this by the hundreds of millions of cans of corn and you end up with a 40 billion dollar food program that could be cut in half.

You need to focus on the women vote. They have to be made to feel wanted, and admired which is pretty hard to do when they're 250lbs waddling down the street with legs on backwards, arms dangling with a face like man. Have you seen the Walmart pics. OMG Asses hanging so far out and so ugly no wonder men are turning gay. How do they even have sex. It's not long enough. Jeesh. Sheep are looking good. Hey, lets push marrage with animals. That will get em' Just take the farm show to the edge as it ain't ever coming back to Ozzy and Harriot.

Suuz, Ya Ya, Nope, no boasting. Experience was only provided when the off topic training content commensed to allow for a more fluid conversation about the off topic content. Fortunately we got it back on track long before the "I have a lot more experience than you" squabbles started that would have accomplished nothing. I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty happy about how this ended up. Thanks again!

I read that too quickly and had to see why a thread on ERECTIONS made it to the SC!!! Nat, after reading your thread I have to re-read. Funny.
