It's proposed background checks for Internet Gun Sales
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
So sons and daughters need go through background checks when given guns by parents. How about widow. In MD under proposed law. When the husband dies owning an AR she will be in immediate violation of being in possession of an AR, and illegal to own gun. How about that. YOur wife saddled with becoming a felon upon your death. I don't need you or your laws telling me I can't give my gun to my kids. You will remember we gave them tennis rackets, skate boards etc. Why not guns without any background check if they are responsible? -
Never as long as I have lived, in the place where I've lived and I've lived in a couple of places has city water ever be shut off. Also, never is the garden hose in the pool when the water is turned off. Dumb law. IMO What do you know about the 3 foot wide ground grid around the pool. Thus far, no one, including city officials gave a reasonable explanation as to why it was needed?

It's proposed background checks for Internet Gun Sales

The hilarous thing about the whole gun debate is that the democrats want people who know nothing about guns, that guns are traded freely, openly, without any type of controls which is not the case whatsoever. There are so many rules that politicians are proposing rules that already exist and making up new ones: like having a marine sniper trainer take an 8 hour training class from some state approved trainer that they've not even hired yet, before he can by a 100 year old designed 1911 Colt 45. Now that is pathetic. After 3 tours in Afgan he might not need a training class but oh no, the democrats feel he should go through a state run training class. -

Proposed rules are combined with finger printing at a cost and fees. Now they already have your driver's license number and DOB as listed on US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BATF Fire Arms Transaction Record among other affirmations on ATF Form 4473 prior to calling NICS to get PROCEED (OK you can transfer) or DENIED (line 21C) BEFORE YOU GET THE GUN. The record is retained by the FFL dealer, but BATF knows you got a gun as it is recored your name, DOB, US citizen, The type of gun etc. is with BATF. Guns are controlled and there are background checks as a buyer could get: DENIED. Which means he doesn't get a gun. Line 11f--- Have you ever been adjudicated mentally defective etc. YES/ NO Google the form: ATF 4473 -

We don't have a well. Try and get city water to backflow into the house from the pool.

The comical thing about the whole debate on gun control is: there are so many controls already that politicians are having such a hard time finding something to control they are recommending doing things that are already in Place. MD for instance already bans 30 round mags and ban over 50 weapons already including AR that are not Sporter versions. Must not have flash suppressors etc. There's not much left to do really and that's gov't's problem. That is why they are recommending, fees, and training etc, as most assault guns are banned. Besides most state are broke and gun registration fees are appealing. -
It's proposed background checks for Internet Gun Sales
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
It seems like when politicians speak, their word is true. Fact of the matter is half the time they don't have a clue. There is not one FFL dealer in the USA that will ship a gun to a buyer directly. All guns go to FFL holders for transfer to the buyer. The FFL calls BATF, NICS to get a authorization to PROCEEED, or DENY transfering the gun. If they get a DENY then gun doesn't get transfered. All this talk about background checks is mostly about private sales but many states require a private sale to be registered as state police collect fees on transfers. This is a political topic used by politicians to get votes. Facts are, background checks do happen every day for most gun sales, especially for sales where buyer is in different state than seller. The US Postal service will not accept packaged guns from Non FFL to NON FFL. All guns must be shipped to FFL. Or in the instance of gun repair, FFL may ship gun back to customer who sent gun to FFL to get repaired by signature receipt only by the owner of the gun. Gun control will only hinder current gun transactions and ownership, not help it. It won't cure gun violence. -
I couldn't believe all the safety regulations I had to complete in putting in a pool. Do this, do that. I even had to install a wire mesh (ground) imbedded in concrete below the pavers around the pool that is grounded to the pump. I don't have a clue what that would accomplish but they told me if someone was struck by lightning as they were stepping out of the pool to the deck they wouldn't be hurt. Can you believe that. No one seems to know what its for. And it cost me an extra $4000 to put that in there. Code. The mesh is also required for hot tubes. And get this, you need to have a device on the outside water spiqot to keep pool water from going up the hose back into the house so that drinking water is not effected by pool water. Can you believe that. Like pool water is going to flow from the pool up the hose back into the house. I had to put a locked device, that can't come off on the spiqot to keep water flowing in one direction, which it flow one way any way. Dumb.

You are expecting perfection, however dealing with humans this is unlikely. But again, there is not one new gun sales dealer that ships guns directly to their client. If they do, it might be by mistake only via shipping error. Point is: politician don't even know the business and they are out there recommending laws that if they looked into it, would find, people are already doing it. Background checks. I'm not sure why there is so much talk about completing background checks and most guns are sold via a background check via the NICS program. -
It's proposed background checks for Internet Gun Sales
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
The politicians in Washington apparently don't have a clue about internet gun sales. Every gun that is sold off the internet usually is sent to a FFL for transfer to the person buying the gun. During the transfer the dealer does BATF background check and must get a PROCEED, prior to handing the gun to the buyer. It might be helpful if these politicians would actually review how guns are bought and sold in the USA before proposing rules, that the rules are already in place. By proposing rules that are already in place the general public, who knows nothing about gun buying and selling thinks people are trading guns off the internet with no governmental involvement. -
IRAs were set up to be retirement accounts (says so right in the name), not unlimited tax shelters. When I get to the point in my life where I've amassed over 3 MILLION dollars in an IRA, I guess I'll worry about what other tax shelters I can find, but honestly I think most of us aren't ever going to have to worry about that. It's deferred taxation. You eventually must pay tax on the money.

I think "nutter" is a perfectly appropriate name for THIS GUY. Also for Cho, Loughner, Holmes, Lanza, and other homicidal maniacs whose gun ownership you clearly support. And why do you want convicted felons to have guns? As far as I'm aware, neither the guy in your link, Cho Loughner, Holmes or Lanza were convicted felons prior to committing the murders. As far as I'm aware, although some may have had red flags raised, none were advised to be committed by family or physicians, which could have resulted in them being branded as 'mentally ill'. Therefore, how would you have kept these 'nutters' from accessing their weapons? From a democrats perspective the answer to your question is total ban of guns. Lets face it, if no one was allowed to have guns, Cho wouldn't have happened.

I find it perplexing that some think we should go out of the way to make it easy for law breaking non-citizens to vote yet make it very difficult for law following citizens to make private purchases. In both cases, checking a simple ID (check citizenship for voting, license to purchase for firearms) would fix both issues doesn't it? Drivers license info goes on the NICS form for checks with BATF on every purchase of rifle or handgun via FFL dealer.

Ah, yes, your favorite thinly-veiled racism, combined with trolling. A two-fer! Welcome back. It is true right. You want to help the unfortunate soles who shoot up the town and you want to include those who don't with your laws. You don't make sense. Go down in the ghetto and do your control down there. They already have most of the guys' finger prints and mug shots already. Why do you need my finger prints. I've not done anything. And if the guy had a fire bomb he would have done more damage. Maybe if he had a 9 ton super charged truck he might have done worst. For got sakes better ban box cutters. We all know how lethal they can be. Why are you such a scaredy cat? That you want to control everything to make it safe. How safe do you want to be that when you are done, you'll have all of us in box so restricted. -
bob I knew you were more than a typical student for some reason. I now know the reason. thanks for the search engine I shot a 25 at trap last night with a Beretta Silver Pigeon xTrap single barrel trap gun. There were 25 people there. The shells I shot were made in Italy. 1 oz of #8. The person that went with me was shooting an over under Browning. We had a great time. It's nice getting out and shooting. Enjoying a sport that has been around for nearly a hundred years. Trap and Skeet are Olympic sports. Service Rifles, (AR15) are used in competitive sporting events around the country. Now, since ammo is scarce, you have to buy as much as you can when you see it, as often places simply don't have it.

Why are Democrats so fearful of everything. I got it. There are two types of democrats. There is one group who can't do an damn thing for themselves and expect others to do for them. Then there are those democrats who know people are so dumb stupid that they want to help them because they are stupid, but they want to include those who don't need their help. I don't need an automatic engine shut off on my lawnmower. And I don't need to have my guns controlled. Now run and go control guns held by your favorite people. The ones who buy and sell guns illegally, shoot the bars at night, do drive by's, and rob 7-ll's for snickers bars. They are the type of people you need go and help with your gun control. -
We live in a military industrial prison industry society. MIPI They want to turn as many people as possible into the convicted. Look what they did with airspace. They turned 6,000 pilots into violators. More rules equals more opportunity for violations. In states where they will ban AR they will come to your house if they think you have an AR and it will be a typical SWAT attack on a private residence. People will get hurt.

We need to enact laws penalizing the majority for the failings of a very small minority. Senate and Congressional Democrats. Chop sticks can be killers. Ban all food preparation and eating implements. You need to procure a license to buy lighter fluid, or gas for that matter. Let talk about the mouth wash and dental floss. Can be deadly. -
OH, lets implement new laws then do the study about where the root cause is for gun violence. Cart before the horse.
-
As long as the general public doesn't care they'll keep adding on. Look what they did to airspace. Seventeen federal agencies including: fighter jets to patrol against single engine 30 year old pipers with some elderly pilot at the controls. It's a jobs work program for those who can't get through high school or pass an entrance exam or have arrest records and can't find work.

You are owned working for the corporation, yet you just don't know it. Guess I missed the line to get free scooters.

Well they are laying off a couple of the 28 cooks at the White House. Not sure about chamber maids.

This is a clear case the gov't needs to ban shoes. He needed shoes to get to the place where he slashed people. They also need to ban Home Depot stores as in Home Depot are zillions of weapons, including washer hoses, chains, and garden leaf rakes, not excluding electric chain saws, and paint thinner. Why not penalize the whole of America to defend against a few nutjobs. -
Who's kid are we talking about? My kids are my kids and no one else's. Why? Since their births, we've paid for everything including Day Care Books Backpacks Sporting equipment Sports fees Piano and guitar lessons Ballet OH the computers and games Bicycles Skis Snow Boards, skate boards Cloths Food College Tuitions Auto Insurance Auto Fuel at times Braces Glasses Use of automobiles ETc Now, there are some who have kids and get all that stuff paid for. From when the kids get up until they go to bed. Now those kids, might be owned. But my kids are my kids. We paid for it. They're ours.
