OK, I understand the aspect of taking matters into your own hands, BUT lets suppose that instead of killing both of them with your 308 sniper rifle from the 4th story window of your apartment, you, open the window, and yell: Hey you fucking terrorists, muslim scum bags, and they raised a pistol at you up there in the window and even fired a bullet that missed etc. Now would you have just cause to shoot them dead. Now the whole city of Boston was in lock down indicated that 2 guys were threatening the whole of the city. I don't buy the aspect you have no right to take them out, when you and everyone else was under the threat of their violent behavior. Besides it was pretty clear the cops were pretty horrible marksmen that they could have used a little help. I gather anyone who might have shot them dead would have gained a hero's party. Not a ticket.

This is hilarious. A thousand cops and 200 rounds could not kill a young terrorist in Watertown that now we need thousands of drones flying around to strike at terrorists possible killing innocent bystanders. not because of the info he might have, not for the sake of interviewing him, not for any of those kinds of reasons - but because the job is to apprehend him - if the cops would have been exposed to an unreasonably unsafe situation, then they might have kept him contained until he died. But they were able to take him, so they should. Cops don't get to make decisions to execute. they can only use deadly force to protect others or themselves in the face of an immediate threat. At that point, apparently the jerk wasn't an immediate threat any more. They certainly don't get to take your position to "manufacture" a reason to kill him or let him die. This isn't a poorly made Steven Seagal B movie of the week. But he was a terrorist. Let say the guy who took the video of the two behind the car shooting at police, took his 308 rifle and killed both of them. Then yelled out of the window. CLEAR. Would he have been busted. Lets make it easy. If someone terrifies you by violence, then that person is a terrorist. Then the special forces guys who killed Bin Laden were terrorists. You need to be finger printed to buy fertilizer and diesel fuel. You need to take a training class and pay an annual fee, license to own these items. Aren't the chemists at work to de-frag fertilizer when fuel is added to it! They need put an additive in there to prevent this from happening.

As much interest as people have in seeing who might have done it, especially ones who were there, I suspect that if either of these two don't come forward within 24 hours claiming they didn't do it, they could be the ones who did do it.

The Senate did the right thing. There are too many gun laws already. I think this shows the polls have been wrong about how many people in the US are for more gun laws as if they were, more Senators would have voted for the measure.
