So, who do you think is ultimatley responcible ?
Bignugget replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
re·spon·si·ble /riˈspänsəbəl/ Adjective Having an obligation to do something as part of a job or role. Being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it. Synonyms liable - accountable - answerable - amenable - reliable If that was what you meant....I am not sure....But I find it interesting its such a problem......jails all over the nation routinely let criminals free before their sentences are done due to overcrowding and budget issues...this is news? I guess because they are mexicans? and not good ole' fashion 'MERICAN criminals. -
I would like to see more of the "20 hours in 5 minutes videos"
Bignugget replied to decompresion's topic in Wind Tunnels
hahah. Ill be waiting the first one was pretty sick. I voted for boobies though. I feel the poll was fixed. ETA: After 3 hours of time I watched your video again...I am pretty sure 1 of 2 things. Either I suck ass, or you are a ninja in training. I pray after I sell my kidney and get 20 hours I am at your level. -
I have a retail pre-owned car lot. I face this same situation sometimes. I know its "just business" but I refuse to sell to those customers when they come up. People whining and bitching and trying to lowball on a 2001 car for $2000 or something. Generally I could just do what they want and still make money, but they piss me off so badly I just inflate my low even more to make it less likely they buy. Fuck em. I might not get Donald Trump rich that way, but I don't have to deal with pricks either.

General thoughts on kids being able to do a Tandem
Bignugget replied to promise5's topic in Tandem Skydiving
This. Watching the kids in the tunnel is amazing. The younger the better they insta fly. Tunnel time till they are 18, then AFF like ninjas. -
I must disagree respectfully and point to rule #33. Rule #33 // Shave your guns. Legs are to be carefully shaved at all times. If, for some reason, your legs are to be left hairy, make sure you can dish out plenty of hurt to shaved riders, or be considered a hippie douche on your way to a Critical Mass. Whether you use a straight razor or a Bowie knife, use Baxter to keep them smooth. As for the black socks question....I think the louder the better in almost everything fun. So I would rock the black socks all day!

Remind me never to wrestle you if we meet, you must be one buff chick! Hahah! No way I can haul 100lbs of dead weight up a 10 foot ladder. To you point though it does seem pretty inside jobby if the door was alarmed. Plus who else besides regulars up to the roof would even know about that cistern and the access panel on top of it? My new theory: Its gonna turn out being the huge scandanavian massage lady who can dead lift 300lbs and was having a work romance with the roof repairman (that's how she knew where to dump the body) and the visiting guest got involved with the roof repairman causing a love triangle that ultimately led to the huge buff massage lady killing the poor guest and sticking her in the water tank as both a fck you to the guests (that she blames for ruining her love with the repairman) and a way to make sure the repairman realizes how badly he hurt her by throwing it in his face. I think its pretty rock solid. I have been watching tons of Law and Order on Netflix lately.

Lol, one of the comments to that article gave me a chuckle. The article said, ""He did hang on for awhile, but then he had to drop." "He did hang on for awhile, but then he had to drop. Excerpt from the upcoming Owen Hart biography." hahah. Cold but clever.

Did you speak to the bank (loan officer)? In general underwriters would accept a LOX (letter of explanation) here in the US. Probably need at least one other form of ID with the right spelling still. You type up a little "my passport has a typo I have never used that name" blurb, and sign it and everyone is happy. Not sure how it works elsewhere in the world but could be worth the phone call if you haven't tried it yet. GL!

That is a crazy news article. How the hell did someone haul her up there?? "To get to the tanks, someone would have to go to the top floor then take a staircase with a locked door and emergency alarm preventing roof access. Another ladder would have to be taken to the platform and a person would have to climb the side of the tank." While carrying a dead person??? And then shoved her into a hole too small for firefighters?? Im gonna stay on top of this one that is wild. ETA: Oh yea and GROSS SHIT, some guests DRANK THE DEAD BODY WATER. OMG I would fckin flip.

What exactly does AFF allow me to do?
Bignugget replied to TDFbound's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I didnt check the link, and I am 23 jumps deep working towards my A license.... BUT Yes that pricing is in line with what was available within a reasonable driving distance from STL, MO. I had to repeat a level so it cost me a bit more but 3k is pretty good, IMO. GL! -
My boy got to learn appreciation for how good he has it..
Bignugget replied to catfishhunter's topic in The Bonfire
Hah! I thought it was going to be like, I took him to feed homeless people. But, I took him to a crappier tunnel than he is used to is also teaching him appreciation of how good he has it. +1 still. Why didn't I have a dad like you? -
Hahaha +1. If I am ever in the UK we will have to go riding. With some guns, fuck it.

Bignugget replied to IMGR2's topic in Freeflying
GL! Check the new tunnel out. It is super sick. Tons of nice free flying going on down there. -
You sell an old car and then it breaks down
Bignugget replied to JohnMitchell's topic in The Bonfire
You did more than most. I give you props and just hope the kid wasn't taking advantage of you by fucking up a perfectly fine car, and then scamming you out of the money he paid for it. Karma is on your side either way so +1 to you. -

Bignugget replied to JohnMitchell's topic in The Bonfire
Id thank God I had that AS IS on the bill of sale and title. As a pre-owned car lot owner I can tell you this happens on occasion even with best efforts to avoid selling problem vehicles. That Federal AS-IS or warranty requirement has saved me a few times. Always make sure to list vehicles AS-IS when you sell them privately, put it on the bill of sale, any receipts you get, and the title. Make sure to copy all paperwork before giving the new owners the originals. This saves you from the liability. Now....morally....I struggle sometimes....But for me I invested time/money/effort into marketing and selling the vehicle and I genuinely saw no issues, nor did they when they test drove it. There is no telling what that kid did as soon as he turned off the block. Revving that bitch up to 5k and dropping it into drive or something. If your comfortable that you sold him a good car with all the available knowledge you had of it, and he was happy when he got it.....done deal. -
Your chiropractor must suck!! I used to screw my back and neck up all the time laying carpet. My chiro kept me alive for that year. After he educated me that eating so shitty and doing no stretching or yoga was allowing my weak back to be easily pulled out of alignment I got stronger and do yoga. Now I have none of the recurring issues he helped correct over and over. He makes way less money since I hurt myself way less, yet somehow his business is BOOMING and his waiting room has binders of handwritten testimonials of other people he has saved. I see him about every 6-12 months now, I still manage to hurt my neck on occasion. If its all placebo I will take it. Best $40 I can spend.

Violence Against Women Act - Who Voted Against It?
Bignugget replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
I was a strip club DJ for a couple years.....IME at least half the strippers ARE lesbians! Those would have to be the best calls. Hot lesbian strippers fighting in sexy outfits. Id let them work it out. -
Yea imagine HOW batshit crazy she must have been for him to finally not be able to take it anymore. A chick that hot could be pretty fuckin insane 24/7 and I would deal with it as long as fun fun time kept coming.

Not familiar with the story. Sounds like the guy was trying to operate within the law and cooperated with authorities. Seems to have gone well for him... One of the hardest things for me to learn growing up. Mom used to say it every time I was confused when I got into trouble after doing what someone said. "You have to follow the spirit of the law, not the letter" If Ar-15 buying is banned, they probably don't want you making them either. But I understand being sad when following the letter of the law doesn't work out for you. I felt that many times between 6-18.

What day did that happen? The day he sold the Harley. Once I realized that skydiving was IT. I sold mine. I nearly shed a tear when the guy rode it away....but I can easily say it was a smart decision. I just hope the guy whos wife commanded him to sell it let him use the money to jump out of planes!

A frickin' rocket scientist. That is classically awesome. +10000

Traveling to a tunnel from the midwest, advice please.
Bignugget replied to Bignugget's topic in Wind Tunnels
You'll find as you get more comfortable in sit flying that you tend to fly it with your back, not your arms. Agree that it is extremely tiring when you first learn it. I think you are right 100%. Watching Ari and some of the tunnel instructors fly, they are using their arms to tell me what to do, not to fly. I will get there this year, watch it ;]. Already determined no vacations/toys this year only coached tunnel time and skydives to practice coached tunnel time. My goal is to be flying some stable HD next year. -
I own a couple used car lots, and I am finishing a finance degree up while working as a loan officer for a mortgage firm. I want to be a trophy husband!! How did you guys get that gig?! This is a good thread, as a new skydiver I have been wondering how people scratch the coin up for it....its not the cheapest of hobbies.

I am assuming the kid held hostages and didn't kill anyone because he knew there was an armed resource officer and didn't want to get shot at. So he just held hostages and gave up. This is why all schools should have armed guards, then gunmen will all give up peacefully. Can you imagine the bloodshed if that resource officer hadn't been armed with a gun in order to TALK sense to the kid!!
