  1. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but ... I think we're safely past the "mid-may" point. Where are the Neptunes? Gimme, gimme, gimme. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  2. 20 ounce of Hazed & Infused (terrible beer), and I'm feeling a little fuzzy today. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  3. The DZ.com pants are cool, but I have to admit I like the really tight-fitting pants in the first series better. Much better. Quite a bit better. As a matter of fact ... I'll be right back Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  4. I have a vector 2 with freefly mods. I did not do the mods myself - they were already done when I got it. And yes, I am a free-flyer. I did purchase a second rig primarily because Vector 2 is not a great rig for freeflying. (Second rig is a Voodoo). Probably the best mod on my rig is vlecro on the bridle and just inside the #4 (right side, when looking at the back) flap. After I put the PC in, I twist the bridle (less exposed surface area) and velcro it to underneath the #4 flap. When I'm done packing, I have about 2 inches of twisted bridle exposed between the BOC spandex and the #4 flap. What else? I do not have tuck-tab riser covers. Velcro works as long as you make an effort to replace it every 100 jumps or so. I do have the tuck-tab main pin cover - older Vector2s have velcro there - you can get that replaced, but it costs some money. That's all I can think of on my rig. I use it for belly work or if I feel that landings will be faster, since it has a larger main in it. It's not very comfortable for FF, but then again, it is 15 years old. 5. Pics work for me. Nice work, HH. I like the threaded format better. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  6. The upgrades sound very cool. Thanks, HH. Did I do something wrong here? Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  7. If I may use the famous BillVon quote - it depends. It's not always true, but when you've got greater mass and inertia on your side, you generally fair better. Roll-overs are much more common in trucks and SUVs, though, and I get nervous about side-impacts in my truck because it has a greater than two-foot ground clearance and could easily roll. Side impacts make up a smaller percentage of total accidents, so I'll take my chances with my big gas-guzzling vehicle. A bigger canopy isn't always safer either. But most of the time it is. 8. ?:3:1 Got a few so far, but planning on getting a few more before the weekend's out. 3 jumps at Skydive the Rockies in Canon City, CO. Very cool, laid back DZ with a nice Caravan to jump out of. 1 case of Avalanche for first jump at a new DZ
  9. Can you post info or a link on the incident? Cause of incident, lessons learned, etc? I didn't see it in Incidents. Very cool of you guys to raise money for him. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  10. It should be noted that the CYPRES 2 has a four-year battery span as well. http://www.cypres2.com/cypres2faq.htm Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  11. Saw it at 10:30 last night. Very good movie. Little slow in one part towards the beginning, but edge-of-your-seat for the entire rest of the movie. Lots of good scenes and even the music was very good. Plot was quite interesting - hard to follow some of the things that were said, but that led for a more compelling story. 12. Can someone answer what exactly is slower than free-fall but still above 29mph? Numeric value? 100 MPH? 50 MPH? I'm a free-flyer, so anything below 150 is slower than my typical fall-rate Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  13. Occasionally, a little post-whoring is good for the soul. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

Adaware did not remove SaveNow for me. It is one sneaky piece of shit spamware program. They claim you can remove it from the programs (WhenU or SaveNow), but this is a lie. Go here, read the *entire* page, and follow the instructions for manual removal. You have to follow them carefully. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  15. Great - now Eric is going to want that rig that he sold me back for his wife. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  16. Springtime also brings warmer temperatures and higher density altitude. If you've been jumping over the winter, watch for faster landing and expect to drop more on those hook turns. Or better yet, don't do them Oh, and daisies. Springtime brings lovely daisies. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

Check the title bar of the pop-ups. If they all say "Save Now", then let us know. There's a way to remove that spam-ware from your system, but it's hard. You will get them on other web sites as well. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  18. 1:0:0 Woke up to three inches of wet snow Saturday. Actually, the transformers that were exploding all around the city woke us up at about 3 am. No jumping. Broken tree branches littering the streets of Denver and taking out power to homes everywhere, including my dad's house for two days. Sunday I took my mom to Brunch at a nice restaurant and got a card and books for my step-mom. No jumping. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  19. Nice - I applaud your courage. Cheers to living your life. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  20. Why would we pay for her AFF? No one paid for mine. Anyone that doesn't struggle through the financial, physical and mental hardship of AFF is less of a skydiver, IMO. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  21. Overheard at the DZ last weekend: : "I really need to get an RW suit" : "I really need to get a divorce" Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  22. Now what a great way to start a marriage, as long as they keep it up. I wonder if there's a divorce clause if they both can't make it through AFF? Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  23. K - I don't really love wingnut. He's pretty cool, but that's as far as I'll go. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
  24. It seems that this effect would be more noticeable on 9-cell vs. 7-cell?
