    I just had a shop build a quad core with 3 gigs of ram , 512 graphics card, with Vegas platinum. Cost me $1500...shoot me an email in a week and ill let yo know how i like it!

    Finally went ahead and ordered a quad core system with recommended graphics card and memory on XP running Vegas 8 Platinum. Anything I might be missing in regards to plug in's updates etc? Should I basically be able to plug and play after installing Vegas?

    Have you tried taking stills remotely while recording? Myself and two others are really torn on which cam to get for handy...would like to go the HD route. Also looking for an HD cam with 30mm lens thread if possible.

    so...whats up with the smile shutter? are we able to capture stills while skydiving only when the student is smiling? Sony should come out with the "tits out shutter" takes stills while tits are exposed.

    Are there HD lenses suitable for handy? Ive got the Royal .2 and am in love with the clarity and the widest image Ive seen. Im looking forward to my transition away from tape based...just want to wait and see what seems to be working for folks. Def. going to take your advice and go with either dual or quad core system running vegas...prob next year tho...

    Has anyone had a chance to verify if the dual record feature (take stills while recording video) on the new Sony HD cameras will work remotely with hypeye or some other system?

    I disagree wholeheartedly...Ive used them all and Kim has it right. I have a PC 1000. Had royal .3's, cent optics .3 (man that thing is heavy) a Black eye, BE X, now have a .2 royal. .2 is the widest and clearest after on camera comparison. Makes handy image way better. I can frame the students feet in the center most of the time. I would recommend getting a 37 mm lens and put an adapter (step down) Seems to make it even wider with no vignette with the 1000. You will see in photo for sale my blackeye x and black eyes for sale because I have bought 2 royal .2's for my handy set up!

    Starting to get busy...12-15 jumps a day weekends and 4-6 a day during the week. Elbows getting sore...anyone else suffer from Tandem Master Elbow? Flying Sigma 370 and ICarus 330 so pressure is as light as it can get.

    There's a Cliche "It's nothing 1000 skydives won't fix." Yea, that's a joke but I have run into a LOT of cam flyers who don't hit the shutter buton unless they are skydiving. so to adjust that Cliche to the photography world"it's nothing 10,000 shutter clicks won't fix" In order to become a better skydive photog you need to become a better photog all around. Go outside and shoot everything. play with your seetings and figure out WTF they do. and for God's sake use the search function there are thousands of posts that address this exact question. I dunno man...ive got thousands of jumps on sport mode and TM (does that really mean tandem mode? If so why is there no AFF mode on my XTI?)and no refunds (well maybe a few after my stills remote shorted out!) Course Im no Willy Boykens..only a student factory filmer.

    Ive used them all for handy and the royal .2 is the widest and clearest of them all. I got a 37mm lens stepped up from 30mm threads and found this to be the widest combo. So far the best for handy...Ive got about 1000 handys.

    I checked Hypeye web site and it does not list PC 1000 on the list of compatible camcorders. Isn't it the same half moon jack?
