I couldn't resist..... did you see the Parachutist 647 page 65???? The article about how closing loops can pull thru the washers????? Kind of an "underwhelming" article don't yo thingk???? C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

You might also want to consider giving the Folks at Monterey a call, don't know the number.... Here is the Facebook thing... https://www.facebook.com/groups/331053523646097/ C Hope this helps.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

what do i think? she's pretty! Your standards are as low as the information content of your posts. I hate seeing clothing the same color as the cutaway pud and or loose and flapping near your handles as well... Of course shit hanging off a helmet is a snag hazard.... "What do I think" was the question??? And my answere is also she appears to be having fun, which means also that she is unaware as most students are, of the position, albeit small, of the increased risks that more knowledgeable people have put her in. Apparently some feel that they can get away with doing things to students that they wouldn't do to themselves. this is what I see.... C And let he who is not guilty cast the first stone, (canuck) I think she is cute as well....

It would be nice if it only cost's 2 bucks per min!!! Dammn those things are expenxive. You would think that for the good of the sport someone would run one at a loss or break even???? Now that wuld bring skydivers to the back yard.... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Ohhh rharrr... You might like Tom Noonans questions and answers to the locals here: http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7143 C Personally as you go along I would copy everything you see of value, I've noticed more than once this kind of blog and forum information gets deleted, mostly when you need it most. Laurie Greer, who also is in New Hampshire, a wonderful person, who puts in 80 hours per week at skyventure Nashua has also had some experience with this issue as well, if she has the time you might want to consider speaking with her??? If you take the time you can see how one person with an agenda who views a federally funded airport as his private club to do with as he see's fit and the influence he went to too derail Tom's plans. This certainly wasn't fair or just. But it does illustrate how some private fields are controlled by the pig headed minded few that want to keep their private fields private. Aircraft traffic at Laconia is at an all time low, frequently there is no activity during the week and just a few takeoffs and landings that are widely separated in time on the busy weekends. But never the less, one individual wanted to keep it his private domain for his own sense of control over others...he was and continues to be sucksessful... to the detriment of everyone else there.... Compare this shitheads attitude and lies with places like DeLand, Elsanore, Perris, Eloy,.. and the other hundred or so very busy airports that not only have skydiving opeerations and hundreds of daily flights but other airport mixed use functions as well.... This is a continuing fight for access folks, and it is going to be a fight for a long time!!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Jen Sharp has some experience in this area she might be able to help??? (not 100 percent sure, but 99.9 percent shure...) http://www.skydivekansas.com/general/homepage.shtml specifically she used to have a SOP standard operating procedures pdf that I used to give out to prospective individuals that knew nothing about operations, after reading Jens handiwork they saw all of the regulations and such and generally walked away with a much more favorable if not downright helpful attitude than before. Stuff like this???? C Let me know if the pdf I attached worked.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Ok, Ok, it's a mile and a half, (give or take) go to the end of the street and bear right, walk by the Japaneese rest. But it's not that far of a walk....to Northgate, and ya it may not be much of a mall as compared with Alamonte, ya , ya,....ok so it's a supermarket and yo have to watch out for crashing aircraft sometimes....but you can walk there.... Or wait for the bus. Or go back to Valoousa mall in Daytona, it's only What $1.75 one way? on the bus And if It's raining and your camping what have ya to do anyways??? C I was trying to promote the area. That it isn't a vast wasteland when your stuck without a car. There is actually a lot to do in the area. And don't forget the spot does bring in live entertainment many nights! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Can you post the Power Point? Or make it available somehow? C Thanks And if you ever want to halv your processing / rendering time give me a buzz??? But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Dudes I'm not hostile, just being quick....and short with the typing... Not implying disconnecting anything... Different aircraft have ther meters connected differently, sometimes the savy renter will catch this, but in the long run it's a fixed item, I'd look more at the aircraft than items that you can't do anything about that's all... In a 182 it really is a moot point unless it's connected to the battery and yo sit in the aircraft wasting the battery listning to the radios or something. This to me was more of a owner renter type of question, where yo roll the dice and live with the consequences. Do you have inside hanger space, as compared with ice and snow and sun? Insurance requlations and pilot qualifications and currency would be my first concern, not meters is all.... C There are excellent disertations on the differences and cost's of rentals on the AOPA site is all.... As a rule long term rentals don't watch the meters as much as including the cost for the overhaul.... Who pays for the detuctables? Get a av lawyer would be my first stop.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

I'm going to add making comparisons from some of the other DZ's in FL... DeLand has the best and most inside shower facilities of them all. The best restaraunt, many locals come here and it has the longest open hours of them all. Camping is great, but be aware it is at the night jet end of runway area, right next to the fence / flight one office/ you may get a jet running up it's engines at 1 am. Not too objectionalble if you like jets.... Weekday jumping can be a bit business like, this can and does put some people off....most of us get used to this and either get on DZ.com or find others to jump with. Genereally DeLand is open every day of the week when so many others are CLOSED. Finding others to jump with can be a daunting experience ANYWHERE but you will find DeLand jumpeers to be very outgoing and helpful more so than a lot of other places, but asking always helps! Find Frazier and ask him or hang around the manifest office/ packing area and ask. DeLand is the manufacturing capital and gear go to place in the world. If it's raining, or whatever take the many factory tours, call ahead is recommended but most all places will be happy to let you visit. (So places have full staff meetings and everyone is temp busy.) There is a mall within walking distance, lots of resteraunts to visit. Major bus route at the end of the street. You can take the bus from Daytona Airport to DeLand airport and never rent a car! But be aware that the Volusa house of corrections is ten min away and sometimes the bus is full of "visitors." If you have a car then Disney and the rest are only an hour and a half away, depending upon time of day... Daytona has a Hooters? C Call manifest about the aircraft it really depends upon numbers.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Why would yo ask this? How is the Hobbs connected to the oil pressure switch or the E bus? Can yo do anything about this??? Why are yo asking us as compared with the rental aircraft owner? You have just held up a sign.... C I suggest you take this particular aspect of this question to the student pilot section on the AOPA site.... Not being sarchastic or nasty here, just ending a conversation that you can't do anything about...when renting aircraft.... In the long run it really dosn't matter, shopping for rentals based upon how the meter is connected isn't going to save any cash.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Downsizing question and for added color we will add a canopy type change as well and already at 1.2? 9 cells and 7 cells fly differently, pick one, learn it well, about 200 jumps should do it and then consider changing. Or up-size when doing this, from a 7 to a nine. But I'm not sure downsizing from a 7 cell to a nine, any nine is a good idea. Well actually I am sure that downsizing and changing types is clearly not a good idea.... C Why do you want to kill yourself? So with that wing loading your at 268 lbs? And that puts U according to the chart in the past expert category and just ten lbs from the not recommended limit? And yo are considering downsizing (To a canopy that yo have absolutely no experience with) at that lbs to a Sabre 2 which is well beyond the manufacturers limit... How many jumps do yo have at the moment? Your profile says you have 136 jumps? But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

You got me regarding Jim Cazers design, cause he makes differing setups to your or the customers specifications, so a picture or someone else that is current can help there. Or the instructions that should have come with it... UPT uses a larkshead and this saves using a link. Their method is in wide use and is next to impossible to come apart, I would say impossible, but someone somewhere will find a way, (I hope not) anyways anytime you can remove a failure point, that's a good thing. So far the loop thru is working fine in thousands of rigs. The larkshead http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larks_head is a fabric to fabric connection that dosn't get any wear, or very little wear. C http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aircraft/media/FAA-H-8083-17.pdf 2-11, 12, 13... The issue is how does the bag stay attached? To the bridal so that the kill line functions? You have actually raised an issue that the 2005 manual dosn't cover well as compared with some other pictiorial do it your self type repairs or assembly that are illustrated there. Again because you have expressed the fact that a lic rigger is going to inspect fully your learning experience, and you are going to point out everything and anything you have done,,??? Right??? This is the reason for the ring on many designs... UPT is using a folded and sewn tape that you have to bend to push thru the grommet....The criticisms of this design are that it can be a little bit of a pain to rapidly change bags and such, but really how often do we actually do this? Here is the instructions from Chuting Star for a Cazer: http://www.chutingstar.com/expert-advice/skydive/rigging/30-cazer-pilot-chute-installation Here is the utube link in case the Chuting Star link is inop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK1wdfJ-jQI But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

I am extremely concerned that there are so many US news agencies putting a spin on who what and where we should and shouldn't be on the globe. When USA Today, runs a straw poll indicating "most Americans" want to invade a country and kick the shit out of them for no other reason.... This is just nuts.... Folks, the democracy is being replaced and your all being told what to think and how to act! I haven't seen a more war mongering attitude except for the time I was in Korea, that's North Korea. And that was on a exchange visit.... We are being prepped for major global conflict as a soulution for economic greed and interests. War is being glorified and promoted on an unprecedented scale. See it for what it is. Again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWiIYW_fBfY C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Ditto the rigger..... But then we catch heck here if we don't answere the question????? Anyways.... If you have a PD product and a UPT container chances are they both came with instructions??? In the case of a UPT V3 new bridal and bag you just pass the bridal and PC thru the loop and it's called a larkshead knot??? But because yo haven't shown any pictures or described your equipment, it's difficult to help you. Also implied in your question you have also indicated a ceertian level of knowledge, or lack of same...this presents a bit of a problem with a do it your self kind of thing... You don't know what you should know...to make a safe and or informed answere.... this is a safety issue weather you realize it or knot. So I realize that saying "see a rigger," is viewed by many as just blowing you off, it is the safe thing to do as based upon how yo have asked this question. Does that make sense? I know you are excited about your new stuff and you have indicated your going to a rigger anyways. You efforts to learn about your equipment is a good thing! No actually it's a great thing!!!! So in that event find your component parts manuals because this is detailed in detail there....in the assembly section. Or if you don't have the manuals that came with your gear...GET THEM! Many here will help you find your manuals despite the fact that most are on the web already... The fact that you mention "extension" of your bridal concerns me, mostly because you have not provided any other information. Different manufacturers do things differently and because you haven't indicated the who what or where, you going to get a generic answere to your generic question.

This is also great reading if you haven't done so already: http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/hrdopn.pdf C I'm a little confused, when you asked this same question back in April you indicated a larger canopy that you rented did in fact work for you? But you didn't like the snivel? Was that the only reason? Open higher? You also risk a hard opening because you can now not control, unless you stand there, what other unknown packers might do. This in fact, considering you have indicated you are jumping with an injury, indicates a certain amount of...well perhaps not thinking clearly... If you are injured: don't jump, take some time off, go to the beach....come back when you are well, avoid the wind tunnel....

What's with these USPA rules? Are they really necessary?
ChrisD replied to mx_maniac's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When yo ask a question like that, you tell us something about yourself. And your telling us that you are a liar and a thief. A liar in that you mention that an AFF class has prepared you for every skydiving eventuality and that you alone with this knowledge, have just disgraced every skydiver that has come before you. A thief, in that you pretend to ask legitimate questions, and you steal our time and efforts to promote safety and fun. With no intention of following any rules. You stand there purporting to express your viewpoint, while pretending to hear us. You are the Wolf in sheep's clothing and we are the huntsman who see you for what you are.... Well here is a "legit" answere for ya: You come here, contribute nothing, basically piss in the backyard with how wonderful YOU are and walk away.... The narcissus section is on another site. We want to live and we don't want your kind affecting our sport. Your irresponsible attitude and conduct will enevitably effect other well meaning people who do the best they can at following the rules so that the publicity people like yo generate doesn't shut down skydiving. C You are in fact your own awnswere to why there are rules.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
