NWCPC event 5 to be held this upcoming weekend (9/3 to 9/4). This will be the last one of the season. same as before, be there 8:30am for safety briefing then hopefully wheels up by 9am. we are going to have some pretty sweet prizes and major discounted products that will be eligible to both competitors and judges in a raffle that will be held after the competition. i think longer risers have more to do with body mechanics than anything. i pull my 23" risers down just as far as my old 20" risers, but because of the added 3'' i'm dive further and faster. but yeah, one is further away from the canopy with longer risers so you have a bigger pendulum effect. too many to count, but the 1st was when i was 18months old. 3rd degree burns over 2/3rd of my body. been down hill ever since. my latest incident was probably a few months ago. try to swoop through tree's but took the top of one right in the face and then went into bushes at probably 50-60mph. lots of scrapes but that's it, really should have been punji'd but someone is looking over me for some reason. there is a radio interview with moledski about his distance run and in short he states that he's coming in with so much speed and velocity that really he just has to stop his rotation and the canopy will start to plain out on its own so much that he pops back up. i'm guessing he probably applies a little bit of rears as well though. for overall standings we used PST points which means no ties for overall season standings. but for each event we had a tie pretty much every event. there is a better way for these smaller events but i doubt everyone will want to change the system. how many guys on the european tour are loading up with more than 10kg (22lbs) just out of curiosity? how many guys here in the US are loading up with more than 22lbs? i'm just starting to load up with wieght and it's less than 20lbs. how many think a weight restriction is necessary? i personally don't think it is. great more restrictions on a sport based on freedom, that makes sense. i agree with Ian, too much weight shouldn't be allowed on any level in my opinion but then again who says what too much weight is? personally 10-20 pounds isn't too much, 35-40+ is however too much weight in my opinion. but that's just me and everyone is allowed their percpective on the situation. who knows maybe there will be another PST type tour that has no restrictions and people will start competing there as well. good luck to all those going to nationals by the way, that should be a blast. and i'll see some of you in colorado. that's what Brad and i were trying to explain about this new judging system we came up with before this comp, it would have alleviated that tie better than just going off the longest distance. but people want to stick with what they know. personaly for these smaller comps i think we need to change how judging is done because we don't have the mass amounts of data that they have in the bigger comps like PST. The NWCPC had its 4th meet this past weekend at Eugene Skydivers in Oregon. The meet it self went off without a hitch and everything went pretty smooth and safe. Again the competition atmosphere was friendly and educational, with everyone learning a lot. We had 7 competitors show up for this meet and at 9am we started the competition with distance. Bryan Gile was the overall winner for this event flying very effeciently and cleanly through 5 of the 6 rounds. Tom Phillips came in a close second and Jim Renfro came in 3rd. All of whom recieved cash and prizes from our regions sponsors. Our last meet will be held on September 3rd over the pond at skydive oregon and will be the last time some of the competitors will get to fine tune some of their skills before the championships in Colorado. I would like to give a big thanks to Scott R, Bryan J, and Kim C, for helping out with the judging. They have the toughest job out there and they've stuck it out throughout the whole season. With out these guys none of this would be possible, so thank you guys!
