lol.... yeah... my syntax is a bit goofy at 03:30, but you got the idea.... If it wasn't for the Horton's coffee i'd be snoring by now. matt

Thanks... that made my night and lack of air time. Scarry part is the high # of those that I've already seen with only 5 jumps.. matt

Quote NY has a CCW? I don't think I realized that. Texas does, though "CCW" ??? We have "carry concealed restricted" = "target & hunting" (which I'll more than likely get), "unrestricted concealed carry" (if you can prove necessary for personal protection, "possess on premises" and "possess/carry during employment" Except NYC you can't own a pistol unless you're a police officer. Was the FBI demo by the HRT? The HRT was there... the one demo was based on a hostage rescue. One entry team and three snipers, plus support personel and negotiators etc... the other part of the demo was by the bomb tech... he used "unconventional" means to "neutralize" a mock mail bomb in a closed mail box... Basically remotely used a blast of water through a pipe (that looked like a mortar) to blow the mailbox/mock letter bomb to lots of small parts. matt

couple pix, sorry about the slow shutter speed on a few.... no tripod and a bit of "boom, boom, boom" going on. (not quite as loud as the M60 in R.O.T.C. though) matt

I'm in the process of applying for my NY pistol permit.

I just got this link. NWS!!!! Is this the same woman?.... it takes a bit to load, but it's worth it.

You make your own "wwwoooossssshhhhh" (wind noise) whenever you step out a door. matt

I think you just made up my mind for me. I was thinking either Glock 23 or Sig 229, now it's looking like the 23 is it. thanks. matt

I'd like to know that, too

The bounced check probably cost him more then the $10... that is if he ever puts money into the account.

Your profile says you live in NY state. There's a "The New York "Do Not Call" Registry" listing/law. If you get your name on that the only people that are legally allowed to call are ones you contact first. It has worked well for my parents. Check out the site and put your name/numbers on it. Here's the online form. matt

I got one on in an Otter on my last birthday so I'm passing it along. Happy B-day and thanks for the time you spend on this site as well. matt

heart/triangle... they both point you in the right direction.

I see... I use a similar screw on adapter at work. It works out well for the couple shots here and there when I need it. How much does it add to the length of the lens? matt

A fisheye can be a lot of fun if you've got the $750ish (Nikor AF from B&H) to spare. Sure makes some cool pix, but not an every day lens. I want to grab a 20 or 24 next... I like keeping the full framing while getting a little bit of distortion/bend. matt

A couple friends in the medical side of things are allergic to not just the latex, but the white powder on the gloves. The bags of rubberbands I've seen have had white powder on them too. matt

Thanks again guys. I can't wait to see what the digital domain holds by the time I'm ready to fly stills/video (400 or 500 jumps from now). That's quite a way off. Just working on AFF now, but the weather hasn't been cooperating here in Buffalo. (can't wait til next season!!) I'll just have to stick to shooting from the ground and at work until then. matt

Tony - Thanks for the info... I've got the roll adapters for my printer too, but what's the advantage (other then printing panoramas) over sheet? Are the rolls cheaper or just more versitile b/c you can cut them to length? matt
-
What kind/model printers do you guys run? I've got an Epson 785 EPX that looks pretty good on 8x10 heavy matte paper

I'm quite new to this site, but most of the "good natured jab(s)" I've seen have some sort of

there are a couple guys I work with that have kids that compete. Not sure for who or where they ended up in competitions, but I've had to shoot parts of a couple competitions here and there. matt

"(My computer was destroyed by lightning and I'm just getting everything going again) Thanks-Tony H." Ouch... Just wondering. Was it in need of power protection or was it direct? My father's DVD player got nuked recently. Probable cause, Lack of surge supressor during lightning storm. Result. He knows what he's getting for Christmas. matt

Thanks quade, I'll check out the link. As far as D-30/D60 where do they fit in with the Nikon D line? I think I'm going to pic up a 16mm non-aspherical. I can't wait to check it out. matt

Quade - Nice pix. Just curious though. What kind of resolution and file format have you been shooting at? And how long is the delay between shots, if there is any, (assuming full batteries and good operating temps)? While I'm at it... what kind of lens do you use most of the time? thanks, matt
