Texas worries about federal troops invading state
Boomerdog replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
A threat? A threat you say? Heavens no! Just a cautionary advisory in decorum and manners in that part of the world...that's all. -
What? Snowden and Amazon have hooked up, albeit, in cyber space? Amazon, whaddya have to say for yourself? Your just so full of surprises!

It could be the other way around. After all, it is Texas. -

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise

Refer to the URL ryoder provided and I'm copying here: http://www.timescall.com/...;-verdict-due-may-22Cool An individual with clear sympathies to CQS responds and this is part of their response; definitely NOT taken out of context: So it's apparent that this is not over if the decision goes against CQS. I'm sure MHS and their legal counsel have already realized this possibility. -

All too often, forgiveness is confused with justice, consequence, punishment etc. It is proper to forgive, but that does not invalidate the consequence. The consequence of this priest's actions is prison and so shall it be. Writing as a Catholic, there's no excuse for this priest's behavior; he needs to go to prison and serve the sentence imposed by the court. ...forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. -
Probably go back much farther than that.

Thanks for covering this and keep us all informed. If the ruling comes back on or by the 22 in favor of MHS, the Memorial Day Boogies across the country will have a bit more to celebrate, appreciate and be thankful for. Again, thanks. -

I truth, I don't have a clue about the past you refer to. All I know is what I read here and in other places. Geographically, I know you and I are far removed from the situation. I'm looking at this with respect to the second order effects a decision against MHS might have on a national scale. -
I hope you're well stocked in flak jackets...you'll be in need shortly. But I do bow in respect of your courage!

Never get in the way when your opponent is digging a hole for themselves. Of course you could politely offer him a bigger shovel! -
Granted, Dershowitz has that long history of self promotion and his comments are overshadowed by that. All that stated, there's a few things that should not be ignored. If in theory and practice justice must be blind and free of as much emotional passion as possible (as Dershowitz aptly contends), Ms Mosby has set herself up. Instead of taking a detached/dispassionate view and speaking from the confines of the press room of the building she occupies, she goes out into the street to engage the masses, the masses who were responsible for the rioting, burning, looting etc. Rightly or wrongly, she's cast her lot and this is not something lost by the Baltimore PD or the Police Union. The implied warning from the Union for her to recuse herself is that if she does not, they'll begin opposition research on her and if they find anything substantive to use against her, will use it and do so unmercifully. Her "client" is not the audience she pandered to last week but the entire people of the State of Maryland as the charges against each will be "State of Maryland v. ...... If a judge grants a change of venue, she also knows her chances of gaining the convictions she's seeking are at real risk. And...these cases have not even gone (as they must) to a Grand Jury who will probably indict to the charges sought. But what if a no bill results particularly on the Murder 2 charge? Someone's gonna be lookin' awfully stupid. I watched, re-watched, and listened as carefully as I could to her news conference. An expert I am certainly not but I could not help but come away with the distinct impression that Mosby has way too much of her ego into this one and she would do well to heed the words of Colin Powell "to not get your ego so close to your position that if your position falls, so goes your ego," and I'd add everything else. Depsite Dershowitz's penchant for press and publicity, he may be right on this one and if Mosby fails to deliver which stands a good possibility given all the factors and moving parts of this case, chalk this one to an epic fail and more riots. As I said previously, she better have the slam dunk goods on these six cops because right now, she's in a place where even angels fear to tread.

If she can read the numbers off that paint scheme as the plane is flying over her house...I think DAPRA (Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency) would be very very interested in talking to her. I think miss Gibbs has a very fast and loose definition of the truth. -
VA Beach, great place and of course the iFly Tunnel is well up and running.

Great advice to self. However, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and to some extent (I could be in error) New Jersey and North Carolina are considered in the "Mid-Atlantic" region. Come to Virginia...it's a "shall issue" carry state on CCW, relatively low crime rate ('cause ya never know who's packin') and we'll do our best to make ya feel welcome. AND we've got some good DZ's here as well.

You gotta REAL bad sense of timing. I mean...I'm up to a 1,500+ body count with Zombie Gun Ship on my I-Pad - I got the 105 going, the 40mm going and the mini gun hosin' Zombies left and right then this message breaks of your response and interrupts all of the mayhem...sheesh! Now...back to hosin' zombies.

Well...you just validated the axiom that Liberals are very good at spending other people's money.
