Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise

Murphy tends to show up: 1)Unwelcome 2)When least expected 3) When you're trying to make nice with your adversary. Your post noted. -

You may be on to something. Have a boogie akin to Bike Week at Sturgis. Have an agreement with DZ's across the country not have a competing boogie. As many skydivers converge on MHS then see how much $$$ get pumped in the local economy. Courtesy smiles, no trouble, drink but be very careful, designaterd drivers, courtesy to all Whuffos, answer their question...etc ya get the drift. -
Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
Boomerdog replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In spite of the best hopes and appeals to the angels of our nature, it's prudent to be realistic as you've noted. Others; myself included, have previously stated that this thing ain't over and this has been validated my Ms Gibbs comments post verdict. Too bad Cervantes is not alive to write about this. CQS and their chief protagonist make Don Quixote look like a piker. -

Ya know, it might not be a bad idea to extend an olive branch. maybe she'll get hooked on skydiving and come on over to our side. Stranger shit has happened! In the meantime, thanks to Ryoder for keeping us all posted, the DZO, Staff, and skydivers at MHS for keeping the faith and fighting the good for all of us! -

Why do you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
Boomerdog replied to promise5's topic in The Bonfire
The answer in repsonse to BillyVance is the one I give most people who ask me why I jump out of perfectly good airplanes. I also tell them that there are no perfectly good airplanes as all airplanes tend to break and we have to fix them...preferbly on the ground. But sometimes, I can tell when a friend or a visitor to my home DZ is sincere about wanting to know. And I tell them that ever since watching the first episode of "Ripcord," those thoughts would visit me through out the years but the speed at which such thoughts arrived and left the ol' noodle was very fast. Then one day it all changed and the opportunity arrived in the strangest most unassuming, unexpected way; I never saw it coming as they say. We spend a lot of effort in our respective lives chasing our dreams. What happens and what do you do when your dreams come looking for you? -

Perhaps, because there is no need to address the racial issues (because they are not there) in order to to understand the rage of a bunch white dumbs peckerheads. They are criminals clear and simple so just WTF does race have to do with this?
-
Absolutely! With better aim, they'll be able to reduce the gene pool amongst themselves all by themselves.

Where it all started...right?

What whuffo questions annoy you the most?

Is it scary? They can answer that one themselves as it is obvious they refuse to "go up" for that very reason. -
Stephanopoulos seeks to move past Clinton donations scandal
Boomerdog replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Stephanopoulos and Brian Williams...what a couple of maroons. Nothing like Huntley and Brinkley...those were the days. -
We ought to take bets to see how long it will take. Maybe someone here will I've long enough to win the bet.

Open Carry laws apply equally to everyone, don't they?
Boomerdog replied to funjumper101's topic in Speakers Corner
Pronoun usage shabby on my part so nothing directed at you. Look, people say stupid shit all the time and I just don't care. Implicit in civil liberties is the right to be a jerk but not a violent jerk. -

I did NOT miss the "Even so..." I just don't give a rat's ass. Call me all the name you like...just don't act out in violence. -

NOT taking that bait. You and I might agree that manners and common sense and civility should prevail in our interactions and discourse with one another but there is no constitutional guarantee against being insulted. Rarely a days go by I don't read something or say something that does not insult me. That does not give me the reason to act out and put few small high speed holes into the dumb son of a bitch...in fact, it's a criminal act and my skydiving days will be over for good. I wouldn't like that, I'm enjoying the sport way too much. Let me give a you a current example du jour. Professor Saida Grunby, about to be appointed as an Assistant Professor at Boston University. She has referred to me and White Males like me as a "problem population." Insulting? Very? Hurtful that I take it personal? Not on your life. I'll give Ms Grunby all the room she needs to spew her screed all over kingdom come, I don't really care. But I'm not lost on history and I do recall that about 70-80 years ago, a little Austrian Corporal identified another group of people as a "problem population" was highly successful in murdering six million of them. Herr Hitler wrote about it, talked about it, the world ignored him, and he acted it out. Ms Grundy and her ilk are free to talk some trash but should they decide to act out against the current "problem population" there's a problem. Unlike that problem population of the past, the one of today is armed...armed to the teeth. So at the risk of sounding like an internet commando of which I certainly am not, let me be clear. Call me all the names you like, but come the day someone decides and acts to put me in some railroad car to ship me off to some "re-education camp" is the day I begin hunting those fascist sons of bitches down and leave a trail of dead bodies in my wake. In the meantime, call me all the shit you like...just don't act out because it won't end bad for me! Now returning to quiet and humble...and maybe I'm armed! -

We have open and concealed carry in Virginia. I've seen men and women open carry. At times, I carry concealed and only concealed. I fail to see the utility of open carry. First it tells a potential assailant what you are carrying, second it scares the shit out of a lot of people and third, it's also perceived as flaunting or a deliberate act of "See what I can do, it's legal and there's nothing you can do nah nah nah." Too many You Tube videos of cops confronting open carry idiots. The cops want to flex their muscles and the idiots want to confront with the law or is it the other way around. Whatever, it's STUPID. Conceal, be humble, be quiet. Be nice to everyone, know the law. Speak softly, use large caliber, many rounds! Use as a last resort. -
He needs to do more than that. Say... 1) Lose weight 2) Plastic surgery to change his appearance 3) Change his name 4) Spend as many years as it takes in anger management Mr. Zimmerman is a trouble magnet and a head case with some serious issues.

Oh darn...when did this happen?

I think it was George Bernard Shaw that said, " “England and America are two countries separated by the same language.” What is a Cheeky Nando? I haven't a clue and with all due respect, I'm not going to waste my time, effort, and Yank mind trying to find out but I wish you good luck and blue skies all the same.

Wife and I were thinking about coming out to watch and be part of the fun this year...until the WV State Police upped their demands. Scratch two more.
