They can be done more freefly friendly. Many people have used them for freeflying for many jumps. However, it was not designed for freeflying. Covers and flaps will open, and sooner or later it will probably bite ya. I had a vector II that was modified a bit, but I didn't use it to freefly. IMHO it's not worth the risk. Lisa, your long post was really good, and in my opinion the first real serious post in this thread. I made one post earlier in this thread, but it was an angry post. Angry because I am sick of people feeding the evil anti-smoke agenda. Here is a longer and more well formed post. We always hear all the reasons we should quit smoking. It's bad for your health. It smells bad. It's expensive. There are a lot of good reasons to quit smoking. All smokers have already heard all these facts. Not a single one of them is good enough however to make a smoker quit. They aren't even good enough combined! If the were, then surely all smokers would have quit by now. Wouldn't they? We must not look for the reasons why we should quit smoking. We must look at the reasons why we smoke. Reasons can be: - It taste so good after a meal. - It relieves stress - It is social - It goes hand in hand with a beer The list can go on and on. Looking at the reasons we usually list when we try to explain why we smoke we can deduct that smoking gives us something. It gives us something that our life will be without if we quit. It feels like it is enriching our life. Smokers enjoy something non-smokers never will. Or….? Think about every situation you smoke, and why. Be honest. The only thing we really get out of a smoke is to satisfy the hunger for nicotine. Lisa is right! It’s a fucking addiction. The only thing the different situations and reasons give us is an excuse to satisfy our nicotine hunger. Not conscious, but sub-conscious. If you agree with me so far, you might agree that what we achieve by smoking is to satisfy the addiction so that we don’t feel the need for a smoke anymore. Maybe we even smoke another one straight away, so that it will take more time until we need one again. The only thing we accomplish by smoking is to get to the state we were before we started smoking. Try this for a motivation. By not smoking we will achieve the wonderful effect of having had a smoke permanently, without ever having to smoke again! (and without all the side effects of smoking.) Doesn’t sound to bad eh? Now, if it just hadn’t been so hard. Unfortunately we are bombarded with information all the time that quitting is really hard, and most probably we will fail. As smokers we are very receptive for this propaganda, and we let it brainwash us. It justifies why we can’t stop. Since we can’t stop we get a little nervous and stressed when someone warns us about the cancer risk. Now what must we do to relieve that stress??? What about a smoke? The physical abstinences of quitting smoking is minimal. The psychological part is just to unlearn what we have been told all our life that smoking does. The symptoms can feel is: - A kind of hunger feeling that can more or less easily be ignored. - Sleeping disorders - Perspiration None of them serious. Once you fully understand the reasons why you smoke and that it is easy to break free it’s not just easy. It’s enjoyable! The freedom to not need a smoke is wonderful.
