I'm thinking of changing to softlinks to when I get my new canopy. Now I wonder, will the slider hit my head on its way down, or will the slinks stop it? I know this is a stupid question. Just seen how some people put their sliders behind their neck, and figured they must have slinks.... I probably owe beer for posting this...

Sounds like he would be fun to have around. Probably he did those things with a little humour. Old people aren't allways boring people. Living 60 years in this crazy world have to make you a little wierd anyway. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

dead poodle.... :) best one I've heard for a long time... :) anyway... This man came into a bar and ordered a drink. The bartender, being a bertender, saw that he was down and asked him: - Why so sad? - I had a fight with my wife, and she said she wouldn't speak to me for a month. - Oh, then you should celebrate! That's no reason to be sad. - It was a month ago today... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Most important is that you practice your emergency procedure every day! I had a PC in tow mal on my 38th jump. No RSL but with cypress. Did what I had practised a thousand times. It worked. Since I jump without RSL I don't think it's a dumb idea to jump without one at 40 jumps. However, I believe it's safer to jump with one, since it can save your life if you cutaway low. I assume the rigg has a cypress. I bought a used rig without an RSL. I've decided to not have one installed because I'm a bit sceptic to the RSL system on a vector II. Too much of the RSL is exposed as it goes on the outside of the rigg, attaced with velcro (at least on the vector II's I've seen with RSL's). I'm afraid it could get snagged on something and cause a premature reserve opening. When I buy my next rigg, I'll probably buy one with RSL. There are only 10 types of people in the world. I've done this before, but never with google. The biggest suprise was that I have my name on a solution I submitted to securityfocus a couple of years ago

Do you set your brakes as soon as you land? (Be honest.)
fudd replied to Jessica's topic in Gear and Rigging
I too just put the handles on the velcro. And I take out any twin in the brake lines each time I'm setting the breakes when I pack. Unless I'm in a hurry to catch the next load that is. -
I think it wasn't intentional. Just another badly planned off-dz landing There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Yes, if you had used a zoom you would have gotten closer to the jumper I hope the jumper made it, I think he made it over the edge after the little chow There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

And anotherone, I'm bored today Jumper from this picture Freeflyguy: Nice work on the canopy but you need some more work on the jumper. Also try adjusting the color/brightness/saturation a little on the canopy. It's a little bit to bright. Maybe what I see is that it's a little bit sharper than the background, try to add a little blur on it. Can you make his toes touch the water? That would be cool There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

What do you do when you can't read the windsock properly?
fudd replied to NicoNYC's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
See what the others do. It's allways nice when everybody lands in the same direction. -
Nice...that's on the edge monkeybot There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

You did the right thing. Where I jump, if you have to land out north of the landing area the alternatives to forrest is marshes. It's probably the safeste place to land. Real soft, bet you could hook yourself in pretty hard and walk away. Of course it's wet, but I prefer wet feet over landing in trees anyday. There are only 10 types of people in the world. The jumper is taken from the dz.com galleries, the picture of niagara I found on the web somewhere... Photoshop job 5-10 minutes... The competition is now open for everyone to enter. Create some crazy swooping pics...!

Here, now he's swooping the other way... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Loosing a skyball is dangerous. (at least for everybody who is somewhere below). Anyway, I just thought of this probably not the best idea to connect a skyball to the left hand with a 60cm long nylon string. so that you cannot loose it. Would the fishing line/nylon cord create to much drag for it to be useful. First it seems like a good idea, untill you considder security. What can this device cause of malfunctions when you deploy. What would happend if you have to do your emergency procedure? I'm picturing an emergency release handle on the thing, but not sure if that would be enough. Is it possible to design such a thing a training skyball which is safe? How would it be? I'm not actually going to try this, so please don't flame me with warnings. I'm just kinda bored at work today... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Warning! Unairworthy CYPRES Pictured On eBay (Again)
fudd replied to slotperfect's topic in The Bonfire
Buy it and sue! He sold you something that could have put your life at risk. Must be worth a couple of millions in a courtroom Funny how he claims that if you can just send it back to Airtec for a checkup to get it airworthy again, when they clearly states they considder them irreparable. I believed small meteorites burned up and vaporized in the atmosphere, so I find it hard to believe that this story is true. I would imagine that it would have penetrated her foot. Then again, I'm no expert and could be wrong. The article seems to be less accurate than a poorly written article about skydiving...guess journalists don't have to much knowledge on meteorites either. Would sure like to see an science article about this... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Hi One kilo is 2.2 pounds. (55kg * 2.2) + 25 punds for gear / 150 = 0.97 Thats a decent wing load, and also allows for some lead to keep up with the heavy guys There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Theres loads of fun things to do belly jumping alone. Of course, jumping with others is more fun. When I jump alone i practise body position and maneuvers. Turns, tracking, barrel rolls, bootie fly and other fun things. Haven't started freeflying yet, but I believe rw and belly flying is much more fun than most freefliers realize. This summer I have seen some freefliers joing rw teams at local dropzone contests, and I think they had more fun than ever. However, we of course had to promise not to tell anyone their names so they don't loose their respect among other freefliers... I look forward to start freeflying too...I'm sure it's a lot of fun, and one day i will get myself a wingsuit. It looks so cool, but I need 425 more jumps before I'm allowed to try one . Doesn't really matter, I have a lot of other fun things i wanna do first anyway

A water balloon dropped from 500ft will probably reach about 170-200km/h. It does not sound safe! There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Ok, this is my next canopy. I have placed the order and just can't wait until it arrives... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=1239; There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
