  1. Just did a software upgrade online and it add in the main menu "Jumpmaster". Information input is exit altitude, opening altitude, landing area location, winds every 1000 ft and then it calculates the "HARP" which I think means high altitude release point. It then makes HARP a waypoint. I contacted Garmin to see if there was any documentation for this feature but they haven't got back to me yet.The guy I talked with said they do that sometimes(adding a feature) and the documentation lags behind.I don't know if it would be included with other Garmin model updates but it might. Haven't had a chance to try it on a jump yet,but it looks interesting. 2. It means that the plane is being flown properly for the conditions. The upwind wing is lowered to counter the drift and the nose is held straight on centerline with the rudder. As the plane looses lift the wheels are aligned with the direction of travel. Its like landing a parachute in a crosswind. If done correctly you will plane out straight ahead vs drifting to the downwind side as you flare. Golden Knights run a military only competition in November. If you not part of a team you can sometimes get on a pick up team.If not there is plenty of coaching happening. If you get to do it be sure to check out the panel in their Otter. You won't see anything like it in an Otter again. http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/goldenknights/Webpage2005_content.html Right hand side middle of the page."Black and Gold Competition" Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

  17. I think the point Dan is trying to make is that if you get it out of the container while your head down the ones with good openings have a better chance of hurting you than one with a staged opening. 20. I have 5 round jumps.I'm 6' and weigh 175.Not sure of the amount of seat travel left but it has to be couple of inches for sure.I don't see why I could not wear an evenly thickback container. I guess what I'm really looking to the rigger community for is guidance, based on their experience in the loft,on what they think are the better designed rigs, and perhaps what to what rigs to stay away from.I'm assuming that the canopy life should be similar to a reserve that hasn't been jumped with the limiting factor being the number of repacks and storage environment, meaning older is not necessarily something to stay away from.
