Here are a couple of videos I did with a mud flap altimeter mount. Its an older bonehead mount that is right at 90 degrees. I put hook velcro on the mount and fuzzy velcro on the back of the camera. Run some shock cord through the bottom of the camera case/ mounting holes for insurance. Didn't notice any harness shift.I keep the bizarre out of it by using a full face

A couple of years ago at the freefall convention, after the 412 incident, they got these yahoos with a Sikorsky helicopter for the helo jumps. As we were getting on the "crew chief" was telling everyone 8 seconds between groups. I guess he heard a bell ring but he wasn't sure where. Anyway we volunteered to be the last group out and pulled pretty high. Be careful. I'd buy a used rig with a 210 main. Jump it for a year and and then start thinking about new gear or down sizing the main. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Buying a first rig...what to ask a seller.
DBCOOPER replied to dbogardus's topic in Gear and Rigging
Your rigger should be able to figure out everything but how many people owned it and how many times the main has been cut away neither which matter. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -

Skys the Limit has a Medevac helicopter on the airport but its just a coincidence, nothing to do with the dropzone. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -

Actually, my main interest is REALLY to find out how many people have made night helicopter jumps... I didn't feel posting the link would be a problem... Does having the link in there bother you? Nope, doesn't bother me a bit. But then again I think calling an asshole an asshole is ok, but thats outside the rules, and when I do that, a greenie will come along and delete or lock it... Looks like reserve side is wearing a belly mount gopro, maybe its an altimeter... I thought it was proper form to wear an openface helmet and clear goggles when doing aff... Isn't main side supposed to be gone by this point? In theory it could have just a easily gone around his neck... Looks like it could have been photochopped... If the rigger was using shoe strings because it was cheaper than closing loops I would agree the wavier could be ruled out. There was no intent to do anything but the correct thing in this case. Skydiving in America exist because of the wavier and we sign them knowing that if something happens it happens. Rememember in America anybody can sue anybody for anything at anytime. I just hope the Judge in this case upholds the wavier. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
