This has got to be a troll. No one could be such a dumb fuck as to ask that. no no, hang on, maybe they are going to recreate all the stuff in Crosswind and re-edit etc., and would just like to use the cover artwork. Sorry I didn't mean to cause any confusion just I have never heard of a cutaway being thought without first pealing the velcro. On my second mal, I for some reason, forgot this step. This made for a very hard cutaway. I use one hand on each handle in my ep. On my second attempt to cutaway I punched as hard as I could, in doing this my left hand must have moved as well causing my reserve handle to become dislodged. Luckily the reserve didn't pop and I kept the handle in my hand ( no rsl or aad at at he time). since then I feel "peel" is a very important step in MY eps. "be honest with yourself. 3rd party insurance problem
kevinwhelan replied to meistwer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
QuoteThe benefits at http://www.sportscoverdirect.com/sportsguard/info/benefits.html state that I would have personal liability insurance. Is that the same thing as 3rd party liability insurance ? *** Yea thats the same, it will cover you for any damage etc. that you would be responsible for. Also if you are traveling and want travel insurance to cover skydiving, try etravelinsure.com I got eleven days cover for under 20 euros last year up to 7 million cover including medical flight home. edited to add travel bit "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing -
I read in another of your posts that you have done the FJC but not yet jumped. Please before you do jump have your EPs fixed in your mind. Talk to your instructors and drill your EPs as they instruct. Even if the extra training means you miss the jump again and have to wait another week. Hanging under a spinning mal is not the time to try to reinvent your EPs. BTW I cant think of any situation where not pulling your reserve after a cutaway would help. Can you? Before you land This is one you should discuss with your instructors, they will know you best and you can talk about what YOU are comfortable with "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

The Time to Act Is Now- A great read about Global warming
kevinwhelan replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
A repy to the thread in general Global warming is now widely accepted to have been largly underestimated because of another effect of pollution, namely Global dimming. This is caused by pollution causing clouds to be more reflective. The result of this is that we have not observed the true effects of greenhouse gasses on Global temprature. This came to light when it was observed that the evaporation index did not inrease as would have been expected with the observed increase in temprature. The big problem is that now partical pollution is being reduced, Global Dimming is being reduced, so we are going to get a far larger temprature increase than previously predicted. see this article http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/horizon/dimming_prog_summary.shtml "be honest with yourself. UK peeps - travel insurance...
kevinwhelan replied to Zeemax's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The excess look high at first 65,000 for VHI policy holders 55,000 forBupa holders but 100 euro for non policy holders When I enquired about this it is applied only if it is covered by another insurance otherwise the excess is only 100 euro I don't have VHI or BUPA so I dont know if they cover Skydiving related accidents. Remember this covers all Illness not just accidents "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing -
UK peeps - travel insurance...

Yea I used them , never had to claim though so I don,t know what the service is like. The only odd thing I noticed on the policy was that you are not covered if you have ever been diagnosed with depression "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? Maybe this is the wrong forum for this ,If so sorry! mods please move it anyway my Friend needs to write a short story involving aviation so asked my help, and I'm asking yours Heres the deel A short story about a skydiving trip. The plot is five people in a pilatus porter flying from Capetown to Mombasa. Jumping into small airfields, landing strips and other flat areas along the way. Questions Is the porter a good choice of plane or would fuel for a turbine be a problem? what would be a realistic distance be per day for a pilot to fly? Would it be a fairly streight flight plan or would you avoid flying over any type of terrain? Thanks in advance "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? Could the turn be caused by the outside side of the spining canopy generating more lift because it has a higher airspeed? Just wondering? "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

Here in Ireland they wont take your blood if you tell them you skydive regularly "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

In Slovakia they have a very good system. Whenyou register to jump you get a laminated card with your name ect on it. To manifest you put this card and your jump ticket on a board for the load you want to get on. When you land you remove your card. If a card is still there two loads later the manifest starts pageing the jumper and their friends to find out if there is a problem. "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? I know it must be my arch that is the real problem. I am only 5' 7" and weigh about 150 lbs without my gear. I jump at a small single cesna 182 DZ in Ireland's very bad weather. So we don't get to do a lot of jumps to work on problems like this. When I jump with someone they usually fall away too soon to be able to tell me exactly what is wrong. I was hoping that weights would keep me with them long enough to get some good advice on what I am doing wrong. Or is it a bad Idea to become dependent on weights? "be honest with yourself. I have only done a few floater exits, but what I find different about them is what you see. on a dive exit I tent to just look down, check the spot, watch the previous group etc. On a floating exit I am standing on the step looking along the plane with no real view of what I am about to jump into, This stepping off blind feels strange to me. Also when I am inside the plane I feel in full control of the exit. On the outside there is all ways the risk of slipping and so exiting when i am not exactly ready "be honest with yourself. Thanks for your reply first my suit is very tight fitting so I dont think thats the problem. I havent have had any formal coaching jumps but the guys I jump with say my arch isnt too bad, I know it could be improved but it's not totaly flat I suppose as the last poster said start with 5 lbs and see how it goes. My wing loading is very low so I am happy to add weight on that score, I jump a pd 190 f111 canopy, a little extra weight would actualy help me under canopy "be honest with yourself. Hi I need a bit of advice on weights I fall very slow, average about 105 mph even when trying to go fast my max speed in an arch so far is 121 mph. I have decided to try weights. There is no one at my small DZ who can give any advice so hopefully I can get some here. I would like to average about 120 mph, about a 14% increase in speed, dose this mean I need a 14% increase in weight? I have an exit weight of 175 lbs. 25lbs seems a lot of weight. Or dose it not work like that? "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

SL-ers: How were your first exits?
kevinwhelan replied to Thijs's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
All my static line exits were stable. My only problem was on my first jump, When I hung off the strut the view of the ground just blew me away, I forgot all about jumping and just hung there for about 10 seconds in total amazement, until the instructor came out on the step to bang on my shoulder to remind me what I was there for. So I looked him in the eye and let go. He told me later He knew I would be back by the look on my face as I fell away "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller?
