  1. Can you legally fuck in the middle of a shopping mall without being charged with lewdness or lascivious behaviour or something akin? No why? Because it offends people, there are laws in every country which prevent offence its a fact. 2. Hornets are sentient beings, you clearly don't understand the term. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  3. There is nothing "the same way" about that. Absolute bollocks, and in no way worthy of your normal level intelligence and rational thinking. So you would blame the girlfriend in my above example. Got it. I didn't answer you 'example' as it is irrelevant to the argument and a poor analogy. 4. And what does that have to do with anything? It sounds like you're stretching to paint the cartoonist with guilt by association - they must be racist because they're french. Little bit ironic, if I'm honest. no, I'm not saying they were racists, simply arseholes. 5. Yes. I consider "Hustler" magazine to be tasteless crap, but I'll defend Larry Flynt's right to publish it, and the US Supreme Court agrees: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hustler_Magazine,_Inc._v._Falwell Any idiot who thinks every living person on the planet is required not to offend them, else they have the right to use violence, is a menace to society, and belongs behind bars. Of course there should be the right to offend but even the right to offend has its limits under law and rightly so. 6. Of course they are innocent in the same way as a person who throws stones at a hornets nest the consequences of which being the hornets come and sting not only him but also kill others in the vicinity, he wasn't to blame it was the hornets that stung. As I said, unintended consequences are still consequences. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  7. That's bullshit victim blaming of the highest order. Charlie Hebdo din't get anyone killed. It's not their fault, just like if a guy's girlfriend doesn't put out it's not her fault if he gets frustrated and rapes someone. They were undeniably a contributory factor in the death of innocents. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  8. Have a look at their cartoons, not just the ones about Muslims, they were arses towards everyone, there was no purpose other than to offend people. They insulted the Church, Jesus, the Virgin Mary, the English, America, right wingers, the Pope you name it. They were offensive for the sake of giving offence that is all. Should they have the right to offend? To a point, its a classless and ignorant thing to do but there is a legal right to offend (to a point) in France law prevents the publication of racist, xenophobic or anti-Semitic (they have no lumped into that anti zionist). So Muslims are fair game but Jews are not. The main reason for that is a guilty conscience as the vast majority of French people actively collaborated with the Nazis in the deportation and extermination of the Jews in WWII. Even today with these laws in place Frnce remains one of the most racist nations in Europe and Jews are leaving France by the thousand to escape the racist French oppression of followers of the Jewish faith once again. However this time Charlie Hebdo took the piss out of terrorists and not unsurprisingly paid the price. The attack was far from unforeseen following previous attack. Provoking murders for the hell of it is pretty stupid and even unintended consequences are still consequences. 9. Exactly. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  10. Hey if some idiots want to go and provoke terrorists in the full knowledge that those psychos are likely to come and kill them then thats up to them. Lets not pretend that they were heroes of free speech that is just bollocks. They were offensive just to get a rise, they got one. Sadly their shit kicking also got innocent people just trying to live their lives killed when the psychos came looking for them. Actions have consequences. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  11. I've not written anything about the attack up to now but after reflection I come to the following conclusion. 1) The cartoonists should not have been killed, there is no justification for that. 2) Charlie Hebdo is a shit two bit rag with 20K readership in a country of millions. Charlie Hebdo was like a drunk in a bar loud mouthing everyone and anyone for the sake of it. 3) Freedom of speech doesn't exist in France anyway. 4) I've more respect for the dead Muslim Police officer who was killed defending the cartoonists right to defame and insult his culture and religion than the cartoonists who were jumped up gobshites looking to provoke outrage without any aim other than that. 5) Kick a bear in the balls and don't be surprised to find its jaws around your throat. Bottom line is that while offending Muslims was the intention Charlie Hebdo was pretty fucking stupid as they purposely targeted IS and Al Bagdadi (among other psycho terrorists). Thats not big and its not clever it is actually pretty stupid accomplishes nothing and got some innocents killed in the process. Do they have the right to free speech, sure but with free speech comes consequences. Are you free to jump off a building without a rig? Sure but guess what that has consequences too. 6) Based on Stats Five people died on UK roads today and a further 50 injured because of drunk drivers, no one said anything about them. My condolences go to their families. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  12. Maybe...but I have to say Iran has to be on the top of the list of countries I would like to visit. +1 When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  13. Sounds like an idiotic attention whore to me. Thanks Christel I was searching for the right words.. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

  16. And that was the only point I was making. Theres a difference between Islam and Islamists. (The latter being a perverted interpretation) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  17. Yep like the westboro baptist church practice Christianity. I'm fucking sick of those stupid ass motherfuckers, but at least they don't bomb, rape and kill people. true they leave that to the Christian fundamentalists who target abortion clinics. 19. That would be a big mistake. Being a Muslim is a religious belief system not an ethnicity. Most of the recent attacks have been by 'converts' many of whom were black or even white, go down the route of racial profiling and you simply make it easier for those loons bent on murder who don't fit into a stereotype of a Islamist criminal. 20. I agree with everything you said. However I would say regarding: Theres difference between Islam and Islamist inspired terrorism. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  21. Yet another 'Psychotic' who 'converted' to Islam to justify acting out his psychotic tenancies. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  22. All good points but where would you rather this 'psycho convert' was today, Canada or Iraq/ http://news.sky.com/story/1358205/canadian-convert-suspected-in-parliament-attack I accept that something has to be done to turn off the tap (faucet) that is flooding the cause of Jihad with angry young men and women. However even if you turn off the tap you still have a basin full of water to deal with. Like I said, turn those you can and use them to expose others, address issues around marginalisation and belonging. But as well as talking softly Roosevelt was right you also need to be carrying a big stick and not be afraid to use it in a strategic fashion. Some people can't be reasoned with and are a treat to their their fellow nationals. I'm not suggesting sending people to jihad in Syria or Iraq, they are already going. I want to see them stopped either by preventing their radicalisation before they go, by turning them and using them to diffuse other before they go or failing that by removing the threat from them on the battlefield if required. And I say this as a British Muslim. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  23. We should treat the perpetrators as what they are criminals, no use of the word terrorist, simply murderers. Thats what they are calling them terrorists just gives them a veneer of glamour and recognises their cause (whatever it may turn our to be). 24. Yep your on the money there, since when was 'Martin Couture Rouleau' a Muslim name? It isn't of course, just yet another psychopathic mental case looking to use Islam as an excuse to carry out his sick fantasies. 25 years old and a 'convert' sound familiar? Yet another 'convert' psycho. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  25. Yep, the USA nor the UK have a monopoly on the mentally ill. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
