Is the British Military Trained by the French?
Skyrad replied to Duckwater's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure, then go to the fallback cover story... But go on TV and embarrass your country without even a smack in the head???? When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

I hate to say it and never thought I'd see the day when Royal Marines acted in such a monor but I have to agree with Col Jacobs. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -
Returned from Iran and allowed to sell story
Skyrad replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
Because the waters in which they were captured are historicly disputed territory between Iraq and Iran. I belive that they were captured on the orders of harliners who hoped that if they could get them to admit that those waters are Iranian territory then Iran would have leverage and a bargining chip with which to get them recognised. I don't think Armadinajan was in on this as he was very quite on the whole thing, took a long time to respond and then let them go throwing away such a plan undermining the people within who actioned and approved it and bolstered his international standing in a stroke. (Although thanks to the Syrians he did manage to get back his operatives in Iraq) I think it was also an attempt to radicalise the population by the hardliners who have been loosing ground to the moderates and reformers in Iran over the last few years. We treat captives the same tactical questioning isn't supposed to be a picnic but these service personnel wern't tortured and should have kept their mouths shut. Fucking court martial the lot of them. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Skyrad replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
WTF? First they play TV presenter now they get to make a mint out of it. Whatever happened to the big four and sign nothing? Make no statement? Were they tortured? No (but they were blindfolded and asked questions in a rude manor) Were they threatened with torture? Apparently not. Were they threatened with death? No. They were threatened with going to prison for seven years like the UK Gov would allow that to happen.. So what the FUCK were they doing on TV appologising and telling the world they were in Iranian waters and grovelling to the Iranian President. They should be facing court martial but that won't happen as they have already halped make Iranians make us look stupid enough. I've just watched the documentary again and found it interesting the second time to hear beyond my prejudice towards the group. Alot of their belifes are no different from any other evangelical Christian Church (including the belife that homosexuality is a sin) also they use the term Fag to cover any sexual act outside of wedlock. The following are belifes that I've also heard expressed at regular Christian churchs as well as at the WBC.... 1) Fag doesn't just mean homosexual but any sex act outside of marriage. 2) Adhering to the rules of every mainline religion. 3) Friendship with the world is (agaisnt) God. 4) Dress modestly. 5) In the community but not corrupted by the community. 6) Anti dating. 7) Worship no idols. 8) honor thy parents. Really so bad? If we all lived by those rules maybe the world would be a happier place. An interesting link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6507971.stm Its an interview with Louis Theroux (The interviewer in the documentry about what he made of the WBC) heres a couple of interesting quotes from him... It was an interesting documentry. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

I went to Parochial School and come from a religious family... I have read it.... and the part they use.. the OLD Testament also known as the Jewish Book of Fables in some circles... does justify some pretty screwed up stuff.. I wonder when the Phelps family is going to start picketing their neighbors who wear mixed fabrics.. and stoneing those who eat shrimp and crab etc. There has been a VAST amount of death, suffering and hypocrisy based on people like these idiots interpretations of the "good book" I would say most of the Bible Belt does not get the message of love that Christ bought to all of us... they are more than willing to show the old hatreds though. You sound like a normal Muslim talking about the extremists. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Ok so taking the picketing of soldiers funerals out of the equation (as thats just plain wrong IMHO) maybe we should be living more to the letter of the law. I mean whats the point of having laws if one doesn't abide by the letter of the law? I got a ticket for going 35 mph in a 30mph area if i'd had said as a defence, look I could have been going 55 mph your honor so I was adhering to the spirit of the law it would have been no defence at all. Why then would it be that if we live by the spirit of Gods law that he would be any more leniant? After all a law is a law isn't it? (Before someone starts finding old testament Biblical rulings on slaves of stoning to death I'd just like to point out I'm mearly debating the principle not suggesting that homosexuals be stoned to death here) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Not one of your best polls John. By the very fact they shoot Police its obvious that they ignore gun laws. On the other hand how many Police haven't been shot because there were gun laws in place? There might be thousands of potential cop killers who decided that they wouldn't shoot at the police as it would be breaking the law. Experts: War on Terrorism Has 'Crippled' Al-Qaida
Skyrad replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
So, then was Akarunaway calling this "USA Propoganda" - meaning it is anti-war propaganda or pro-war propaganda? It's hard to keep straight the knee jerk proclamations (in any case, I think Skyrad's thoughts are likely closest to the situation. Al-Q has been crippled and unable to respond, the methods and theories are likely now even more decentralized and that means any nut can just unilaterally cause another attack. More terrorists balances out less resources and organization for each - there will always be nuts, so knocking out the big well funded organizations is better than not doing it, but it doesn't make defense any easier. Kill the bear, now deal with a beehive.) I don't think the bear ever really existed, it was a few bees that flew up a trouser leg and into three buildings. A sting on the balls can feel like a bears bite. All we did is destroy the hive and remove a few bees close to the queen but their places are filled again and the swarm is pissed. Something had to be done but I don't think it was done proportionatly or rationally and could have been handled better. The very small group of UBL's followers have been scattered but they haven't been beaten. More dangerously Al Quaeda have gone from a small group of fighters to a global philosophy. Al Quaeda is now a technique for individuals and small groups of extremists and consequently the world is a more dangerous place for it. Especialy when you couple that to the damage done to the middle east and the instability that the war in Iraq has caused in the region. Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims
Skyrad replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Apparently enough of them are that it intimidates the teachers into remaining silent, so that they don't have to answer challenges. If we bow to such intimidation, it will be the death of our culture. The radical Muslims are using our desire for political-correctness as a weapon against us. I'm also trying to figure out why Iranian muslims are protesting outside the British embassy in Tehran. They're the ones holding British sailors hostage. It seems to me it should be the Brits protesting outside the Iranian embassy in London. But then, a lot of what these radical muslims do doesn't make sense to me... There are Brits protesting outside the Iranian embassy in London. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims
Skyrad replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
It wouldn't. All the Muslims I know or have even heard speaking about this subject activly want the Holocaust to be taught in school. Maybe with some education it may help to reduce the risk of this happening again. God willing. Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims
Skyrad replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
This is such a crock of shit. Muslims aren't offended by being taught about the Holocaust. This crap is decided by white fat middle class left wing wankers who belive in nothing themselves. There was a phone in in London about this subject and every single Muslim that phoned in (countless) were against scrapping it and none of them found it in anyway offensive. Its ythe same shit from the same left wing wankers that try and ban Christmas for the same reasons. All they do is piss off Muslims and Christians who were quite happy before these useless oxygen thives stuck their oar in. Twats. I don't think anyone took the two boats as any real threat. This whole thing has been cooked up I think for reasons of internal Iranian politics between the hardliners and hotheads and the librals who have been making political ground in recent years. Its interesting that the Irainian President has hardly said anything on the incident. He could use this as a rallying point but has not yet done so. It will be interesting to see how he handles the situation. As for the two officers on the box, one looked forced whilst the other looked like he was doing an audition for a weather spot When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. British parties have a philosophy?!?! News to me! Anyhow, Skyrad, I'd say as long as you're on this side of the Atlantic, the deciding question is what you think of the Queen.
