Londonistan: Radical Islam and the Disintegration of British Society
Skyrad replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
Want to know what Islamic Judaic relations are like in London? Don't believe that twadle. This is what our Cheif Rabbi says... So we have a complex problem. What are we doing within the Jewish community? As I have already told you, we have cultivated many friends, Elaine and myself, with Muslim leaders. We know many of them—all of them, I think. We’ve had all sorts of Muslim leaders to our house. I have appointed a Rabbi specifically in my Cabinet to deal with Jewish-Muslim relations. Five young rabbis under my aegis have been having an ongoing dialogue with five young imams under the auspices of the Home Office. Last year, I brought Akbar Ahmed—do you know Akbar from the American University? And you know of Judea Pearl, the father of the murdered journalist Daniel Pearl, and I brought—and Akbar and Judea came—I didn’t bring them—to England and I made a little television program. I took them together to an Islamic school, the Islamia School, and to a Jewish school to speak to the kids and mix with them. And we put that on BBC Television to show that we can relate, we can be friends and so on. ….There is a little building in London’s East End called 19 Princelet Street, which in the eighteenth century served as a Huguenot chapel. In the late nineteenth century, it was taken over by Russian Jews and turned into a synagogue. Since 1970, it has lain derelict. It has just been reopened as Britain’s first Museum of Immigration. It tells the stories of the Irish and the Jewish immigrants to London. That part of London is very heavily dominated by Bangladeshis. The local Roman Catholic school is approximately 99 percent Bangladeshi Muslims. And they came to see the museum, and they immediately identified with the Irish and with the Jews. And these are six-year-old kids, and they realized their story is our story. And although I wasn’t there when they came, I saw the video of their visit, and it was something that I will never forget. It was the most extraordinary thing. These six-year-old Muslim kids from Bangladesh acted out a Jewish story, which I must say I had never heard before, a story from the shtetl. …..And just before the queen began to speak, a very religious Muslim lady came up to me and said, “Chief Rabbi, I want a word with you.” I did not know what she was going to say. Was she going to hold me personally responsible for the State of Israel? And what she actually said was—and you have a copy there. She said, “Thank you for your book, A Letter in the Scroll. It meant so much to me.” Now, if any of you have read A Letter in the Scroll, you will know it is a book about Jewish pride. It is not about Islam. It is not about Christianity. The Times of London serialized it. Why? I am not quite sure why except the Times, when I said this is a Jewish book, said, “But, after all, you’re our Chief Rabbi,” which is an interesting statement. I mean, that was a non-Jew saying that, and that was an interesting statement. So to think we have no common ground is absolutely wrong. *** http://www.chiefrabbi.org/speeches/washington2005.html When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. I find it hard to consider the murder of 3000 innocent civilians, during peacetime, all killed within a two hour period, in a highly visible and horrific manner is insignificant by any comparison. Statistically speaking the deaths were insignificant in numbers. If we look just at the American deaths that day. There were reportedly 2106. The population of the USA is according to the CIA 301,139,947 301,1399.47 = 1% of the population 30,113= 00.1% of the population 301= 0000.1% of the population 2106= 0000.7% (approx) of the population. Hardly statistically significant. As Stalin said, " A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic." The 9/11 deaths were tragic but they're quite a few short of being a statistic. http://www.september11victims.com/september11victims/wtc_statistics.htm https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html#People When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
