I suspect that the terrorists were trained in basic tactics and weapon handling. I agree about the Indian armed forces. 12 Hours after landing on the roof and entering the Jewish building they brought it to a close. They clearly were not trained for this, as one 'black cat commando' (Do me a favour) commented 'no one knew what was going on'...and it was different from his 9 years of fighting Kashmiri millitants in the woods where there were one or two who used shoot and scoot tactics. They were using 40mm grenades inside the jewish building, I saw one 'black cat commando' discharging his H&K with it held at arms length abouve his head like a west African street fighter, fucking pathetic. Then they have the barefaced audacity to declare that they found the 5 hostages dead when they got to them! I'd like to see a full forensic investigation on the bodies of the hostages to determine just how they died. Two press reporters were shot because the outer cordon was in clear line of fire and a stones throw away from the hotel. The terrorists were watching the on going operation on the internet using blackberries. The whole thing was a total cluster fuck and the Indian security forces were shown to be ineffective. A very valuable point when it comes to mis dispensing prescriptions and misunderstanding the patients history and clinical information in hand written notes and 'scripts. I agree. Though this could be very bad for America. If the Indians build up troops at the border or threaten to do so Pakistan will be forced to send troops the border to reinforce its defences. Currently Pakistan has thousands of troops doing their best to close and control their vast long border with Afghanistan to try and stop Taliban from free movement across it to resupply, an d reequip to go and attck US forces there. Allot of posters here seem to think that Pakistan is doing every thing it can to help the Taliban, that is simply not true. The Pakistani Government has lost thousands of troops fighting in the tribal areas against the Taliban and have assisted the US in their ongoing fight. The diversion of several thousand troops to the Indian border would mean that US forces would be under unrestricted Taliban attack from the east and would allow the Taliban to attack the from west and east with unfettered logistical support. Hi Karen As you know I'm a Clinician by background and I've been working as a Consultant in Healthcare Informatics for a large multinational for the past five years. This stuff is my bread and butter I currently Lecture on a Post Grad Healthcare Informatics Course and reguarly give addresses at Healthcare Informatic Confrences (three last month). I was responsible for designing the workflow and testing programme for the London LSP RIS/PACS Program 31 Hospital Trusts across London England to be linked to central dual mirrored Data Centres. I designed the Training program for London LSP and was the Test Manager for London LSP program, designing, writing and implemented test scripts for London LSP Program (part of the UK National Programme http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/) Of course it depends on the set up of the system that you use. It is possible on the solutions that my company produce to set the security setting to only allow the named Physician and their team to be able to access the data. However, this is most often used in private institutions in the area of RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System). I'm currently working on my second National Programme to deliver PACS and RIS as the first part to a full EMR. Part of the issue is the fact that many companies involved in such projects only view security and privacy in terms of do our products comply with HIPAA http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/ without appreciating the workflow of the Clinicians and designing appropriate checks into the workflow design. I have worked in many countries in this role including South Africa, Sweden, Denmark, UK & Gibralter, Ireland, Netherlands, USA. Of all these countries I have found that the worst for this approach is the USA who tend to be almot totally technology focused and assume the workflow to be generic. There has to be a professional responsibility on behalf of the Clinicians also. Appart from time what is the diference from a Dr looking into a patients notes if they want to? (Obviously the checks and balances to preventing ths from happening will be different across various institutions) But if a Health Profesional wants to view a patients notes/records it is not often that difficult. Also with a paper trail there is no guarenteed audit trail unlike on a HIPAA compliant EMR. As you correctly said in your post maybe the information is valuable and maybe not to the case that you are looking after but without seeing the information you'll not know until afet the event when its to late. Of course the aim is to securely deliver the clinical information to the point of delivery across the entire care cycle anytime, anyplace and anywhere. As described by oter posters in this thread Patients already either lie or just tell us what they think we need to know without knowing what that might be anyway I think most patients are only concerned thatwe treat them and get them on their feet again. P.S Good to have you back

14 Dead and 90 injured in attacks on Karachi yesterday yet how many of you heard a thing about it? Why is this ignored by the Western media? Sunday, November 30,2008 KARACHI: Fourteen people were killed and over 90, including four women, sustained injuries while 15 vehicles were torched in separate incidents of violence here on Saturday. Various incidents of stone pelting and aerial firing were also reported. it doesn't make me think that at all the same could have easily been said anytime over that last 50 years from any nuclear nation. I respectfully disagree. In sum, nuclear war between the US & the USSR during the Cold War was averted by each side's belief in/recognition of the Mutual Assured Destruction principle. China was very unlikely to go nuclear against anyone after they first acquired nukes. Israel was always highly unlikely to use their nukes unless their destruction was virtually imminent absent their use. And who the hell was Brazil ever likely to nuke? India/Pakistan aside, that's pretty much it as far as the Nuclear Club over the past few decades goes. I agree with you that it is different. For a start there are way to many hot heads way to close to the button on both side of the border. Hopefully things will never get so bad that either side hit the button. I do think that if ever Pakistan use the bomb it will be in response to an invasion by India and will be used at the border. In this scenario the second bomb would be on Islamabad or Karachi in retaliation by India, most likely Islamabad I would think. Indian press are just whipping up shit. Yesterady they were claiming that the terrorists were Brits, today they're saying that they are all Pakistani. Yet the only Terr taken alive has a Mauritius passport and isn't a Pakistani. There were attacks in Karachi yesterday (That no suprise the western media chose to ignore again) yet Pakistan isn't blaming India. Its time for facts and investigation not finger pointing. Why shouldn't animals be allowed to get married? It would stop Canines from behaving like Dogs and Bitches. Sound like a great idea. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Ten men hitting seven targets at the same time??? Two of which being those massive hotels? Plus hits on the top anti terrorist officials, keeping at bay the Indian special forces for three nights....Ten men???? Whoever they were bloody well trained. I'd be supprised if there really was only ten of them, a day ago the Indian Gov were saying that they had captured nine and killed four...Now all of a sudden they are saying that there were only ten nine are now dead and one captured and injured. My guess that some are either on the loose or on their way to a black prison somewhere unmentionable (or both). I doubt it, there are also reports saying that these men were in the country a month before the attack. Their are rumours (unsupported so far) that they may have been of British origin also. The head of Pakistans ISI is on his way to India to help in the investigation and there have been demmos inside Pakistan denouncing the Terrorists. Pakistan and India have never been so cordial in their relationship as they are at the moment and Pakistan is fighting its own war against Islamist millitants in the north of the country and has suffered recent large terrorist attacks (Mainly ignored in the west) in recent months.
