As one poster on You tube said.. Obama is everyman. American, African, Irish, Muslim, Black, White... God knows what else. Fucker makes me feellike a thoroughbred! So the only places in the world where McCain would win are Albania and Macedonia which is hardly suprising as both countries are as racist as hell. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Apparently the crimes were included in the previous figures just not in the serious offenses cat. So if you swung at someone with a knife or broken bottle the crime would not have fallen into the serious crime cat but would have been recorded in the crime figures still. Exactly. The use of the phrase "human emotions" doesn't do this thread justice. Thats why I used the term humn 'like' emotions. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Interesting article Marg. As someone who flys internationally upto seven times a week I see glaring stupidity and easy breach points in the security of many airports. I think all of us has at least one TSA story. Freeatlast and myselp once were escorted through all of the security checks at Newark airport because we had a 'Letter' with a TSA stamp on it. What was this letter of power? Simply a printout of the 'Parachutes are safe to take as carry on' page on the TSA website. You'd think we had Presidential letters of recommendation. Each time we got to a security point the guy escorting us said "Its ok they have a letter!" and waved us through...Pure stupidity. Do Animals have emotions like humans do or are they simply reacting to stimilus? I've always believes that they do but have often come across people that argue that animals just react to stiuli and don't have emotions. Whats your view? I doubt it. Pakistan and India today started trade again across the Kashmir border. First time in 60 years and it had bugger all to do with the US. As for the slight on Muslim countries and Israel you forget that Israel has its own Nukes and peace deals with Eygpt and Jordan and tensions between them and syria are currently pretty low. Q. What would happen? A. Unemployment would rise as the servicemen and women are cut loose by civillians in charge. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

I recently returned with my wife from a trip to Canada. At the border she crossed first, then turned around to look at me as I crossed. As we faced each other, her left, in the US, was very definitely on my right in Canada. Very good Prof, very good. Good thread. I agree with you. To say that Obama is a socialist clearly shows a lack of understanding o what real socialism is. Socialism is pretty much a redundant concept that died at the end of the 1980's. Supposedly Britain has a socialist government... Fat joke. The British Labour Party is as far right as the Conservative Party. Both dominate the centre right of the political spectrum. Obama is further right still. I talked to a lot of communists at Berkeley. Didn't make me a communist, nor does them being so make their advice worthless. We're not in the 50s. Or in a jail in Hanoi being brainwashed. The FACT of the matter is that overseas donations are ILLEGAL. McCain has a listing of all his donors available, Obama does not. McCain has returned questionable donations, Obama has not. For the rest of the post - I give nary a DAMN what the rest of the world's opinon is - the rest of the world doesn't elect the President - we (the American people) do, and the President's first priority is to the USA and not some world-wide popularity contest. Bottom line is you're only one country, and one with a precarious economic position at that. Also one which produces not much and is dependent on the rest of the world using your services supplying your goods and using your ever deflating currency. Without the rest of the world the US is screwed. Therefore whats best for the USA is to have the good will of the rest of the world. So like it or not what we think of your President has a direct effect on how well your country will do. Because the landslide is already happening. This endorsement, plus the $150 million flowing to Obama in September, more than half of it from NEW donors. As they say, "follow the money". 'Follow the money' like the $800k he gave ACORN, or 'follow the money' like the donations from 'Edrty Eddty' ($250) and 'Es Esh' ($250)? Or maybe the donations from 'Good Will' ($17,375) or 'Doodad Pro' ($19,500) - well over the maximum allowable of $4600 between the primary and general election. Or, perhaps the approximately $39 MILLION dollars that have come in from overseas sources? Yeah, let's follow THAT money!! The very fact that $39 M has been invested in Obama just to keep the Republican party out of the White House by overseas donors says alot about how little the rest of the world wants to work with a McCain Presidency. That alone is a good reason to vote Democrat. The US needs the good will of the rest of the world not to mention their buying power.
