  1. Hi everyone, As Christmas approaches some of us will look at giving gifts to charity, with this in mind I am turing to you, I was on an Aer Lingus flight about six months ago. During the flight the attendants made an announcement saying that they were going to collect change for the charity of the month, that charity was the Laura Lynn foundation. I'd never heard of the Laura Lynn foundation but what I heard moved me greatly. The foundation was set up in memory of two daughters of the McKenna family, Laura and Lynn who died tragically within two years of each other. Laura was born with a hole in her heart and died just 4 years old, in her short life she had endured two serious operations, six months in hospital and sadly did not survive her third and final heart repair operation. Lynn was 13 when she was diagnosed as having Leukaemia, it was on the day that little Laura passed away. I gave what little money I had on me but as I left the plane and walked down the steps the story stayed with me, and with it a growing certainty that I had to give more, do more. It struck me as scandalous that there is not even a single children’s hospice in the whole of Ireland. This despite there being over 1,400 children with life limiting and life threatening conditions, such as cerebral palsy, profound brain damage, meningitis, HIV and cancer each year and over 354 children's deaths a year in Ireland. Yet there is nowhere for these children to spend their last days except in a hospital surrounded by busy staff in a clinical environment often with no where for their parents to stay. The LauraLynn Foundation was set up in 2001 to build and run Irelands first children’s hospice. So at seventeen and a half stone and not having run in years I looked about for a significant challenge. I was certain that I would be able to do a Marathon and also wanted to do something extreme that would be a true challenge. I have been training now for seven months, now weight 14.8 Stone and have run three marathons in the last five weeks, in the next ten weeks I will run 480 miles. On the 26th May I will be running the Namibia 24 hour Ultra Marathon; three back to back marathons in 24 hours, self supporting across the Namib desert. The heat will be up to 46 degrees during the day and down to 0 degrees at night. http://www.lauralynnhospice.com/about_us.html If you'd like to sponsor me please follow the link below, You can make a difference to families across Ireland, Please help if you can. http://mycharity.ie/event/jamile/ When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. I choose Israel because (1) they have outlasted the opposition throughout the centuries. (2)They also hold a major trump card. (3)I am an adopted Jew. An adopted Jew? What do you mean? 3. I support diplomacy. No one starts in any negotiation showing their cards and standing in the middle ground. Obama (et al) job is to do those hard yeards to mve them into that posistion to find a resolution. Therefore your options are without value. 7. Actually I live in Ireland. But used to live in the UK. I'd say that the fact that people are not allowed to wander around carrying guns in the UK certainly helps to lower the gun crime rate.. If you really believe that you've proberbly been living there too long. True You can't take what does or does not work in the USA to be a universal truth. DARK makes a very good point. If you put aside your gung ho gun love for a moment and thought about what he said you'd see it actually makes sense. Also gun crime here in Ireland is mainly restricted to gang wars, civillians rarely get hit. Hand ringing "What can we do" shoulder shrugging may be the reason that the USA is in the state its in. I guess you could have cameras everywhere and watch every one give everyone mandatory evolutions but not only will that still not grauntee safety it is a world i would not want to be a part of. What solutions do you have to determine someone might be a threat? How would you know if someone thinks that killing Innocent people is ok or not? Your ideas are great in a fantasy world. As long as there has been man on the planet there has been a minority who chooses to hurt others. If your waiting for a day where no one ever does any thing bad to each other you should move to a Disney movie. There are too many deaths that could have been prevented. 9. Thanks for posting, it was a very dull and overly long video which could have been done in two minutes. That aside, I would agree with what he is saying about gun free zones in the USA. As American society is screwed & riddled with gun nuts and psychos who can easily get hold of fireams and reguarly go 'postal' in such areas then yes, I too would want to be able to carry if I was unfortunate enough to have to live in the USA at the moment. In countries where this sort of mass murder using firearms is still uncommon then we should do everything our power to ensure that those countries do not end up in the tragic situation that the USA finds itself in. 16. I doubt they did nothing, I'm sure that many would have filmed it on their mobile phones. Its a sick state of affairs when society comes to this. (This isn't a dig at the US either as I remember a similar rape of two girls outside Catford McDonalds on a Saturday afternoon over a decade ago in London.) 21. What a load of nonsense. British Police regularly patrol the streets of British towns and cities and have done for years. The only difference is that they have done it in cars. These units are known as trojan units (Yes, very funny...sniger sniger) so whats the big deal of having them utside of cars? Honestly I couldn't care less. The only factor that I see as important is how can these officers be best deployed? On foot? Not sure about that. Having said that anyone who has gone through a British airport will have seen British Police carrying MP5's. You also see them in various places in London on foot. This is a total non story. 22. Belief in the necessity of a violent overthrow of capitalismthe Kaffir through communist Islamic revolution, to be followed by a dictatorship of the proletaria believers as the first stage of moving towards communism, the Umma and the need for a vanguard party to lead the proletariat believers in this effort. Only in the means of violent uprising via a vanguard to lead the 'sleeping' masses into overthrowing the West which controls the 'false' reality of the believers. Take this and mix it in with the teachings of Wahab (et al) invoke the spirit of Saladin and hey presto. (OK thats a very potted summary but I think you can see what I'm getting at). Maybe 'methodology' would have been more appropriate than 'ideology.' When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 23. He's right, the interesting thing is that the 'new' Jihadists of today have adopted the Marxist philosophy that was such an influence on Nasser, one of a violent vanguard leading the revolution, in this case though a Islamist revolution, they have replaced the secular nationalist ideology of Nasserism with that of the Umma. You can see clearly the family roots of the current modern ideology. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
