Heading out on Thursday to spend nine days canoeing and hiking, on and around the Rio Grande River, in west Texas. Big Bend Ranch State Park, and Big Bend National Park. And the new law, signed by Obama, allowing gun carry in National Parks goes into effect Feb. 22nd. So I'll no longer have to carry my gun in my car unloaded and out of reach. (Have to keep things on topic here, don't we?) Attached: Aerial view of the landscape. The river can be hard to see in there, but it runs from the top left corner diagonally downward to the red star on the right, over the small town of Lajitas. The U.S. is above the river, and Mexico below. I'd like to give christelsabine a long special post. Looks fantastic, you'll have to post some pictues when you get back. Have a nice time... England: TV Star Warned Over Waving Knife At Intruders

Barely. And only because a jury of citizens had enough common sense to do the right thing. However, the government failed to show that same common sense. The police should not have charged the homeowner with a crime in the first place. The prosecutor should not have pursued a case against him. And the court system should not have let the attackers off so easy. So the government failed on three counts. And the citizens succeeded on one count. Well John thats the failsafe, thats how the system works. -

Not really. At close range it's great, but no shotgun is of any real use beyond about 100yds. That's just the nature of the cartridge. One skilled soldier with a .30cal rifle (M14) could easily take out a large group armed with these shotguns, as long as he could engage them beyond 100yds. Mag capacity and rate of fire are much greater than for other shotguns, but (especially for military situations) shotguns are of limited utility. What they are good for, they are great for, but they aren't good in a lot of places. Actually this weapon has a round that can reachout to 175Yards When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Funny, I watched that episode only yesterday. A great bit of kit but it really has no place in the civillian world, I agree this should be a restricted firearm and just as importantly some of the ammo shown on that episode should also be not availble to civvies. There are places in the world where there could be a steady stream of guns being decommissioned for 50 years and there'd still always be plenty of guns. Sort of the "two-ledger" system of materiel. Is N. Ireland one of those places? Not really, firarms are controled over here and have been for a long time. That said, I have no doubt that should a signifcant terrorist group want to get them in to the country they would have a large amount of sucess. The smuggling problem in to the Republic of Ireland is a big one and their is little cahnce of being caught unless its an intelligence led operation. Yes and there always will be. In fact there has been some escalation in the last couple of years. Disident republicans have murdered soldiers, policemen and civilians in the last couple of years and several large bomb plots ahve been stopped, several smaller bombs have gone off some with lethal consequences. Great news in Ireland as even more guns have been decomissioned. Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/labour/7050044/Labour-invents-33-new-crimes-every-month.html Actually I know this isn't going to make me popular but I do agree that the Nanny state is running riot. Labour has introduced a ludicruos amount of laws many of which were not needed or were already covered by other laws already. If you're visiting London this summer you might seriously think about leaving your video camera at home (especially if you're a bit on the dark side) http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/video/2009/dec/15/police-terrorism PCSO's are NOT Police officers When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
