The FBI now claims the original drop is probably wrong, and further south. so, if that is correct. everyone is gathering around the wrong location, and it's in an easily accessible area. why would Cooper want the stairs down prior to take off? possibly to jump earlier than assumed, and again, if this is correct. hanging around the Merwin lake area is way off. it's only speculation that Cooper intended to jump early, or intended to jump past the 8:12, 13 mark. nothing really is proven either way. if he changed the plan in the air, like asking to drop the altitude, they would have been on his plan. perhaps he did miss his original jump area right off the bat trying to get the stairs down. Ratazcak has no clue where he jumped. they wouldn't have checked the plane before landing. they would of known he was gone. he only gives the time frame to the last known conversation at 8:05, and where the pressure bump was felt. that's hardly a statement of knowing where he jumped.
