I have also been to his website, very impressive I might add, if no sign of him anywhere around Ariel there must be something missing? how positive can we even be with the so called "pressure bump" was the bail out zone? the plane flew for two more hours and had to have more turbulence? how sure are we of the testing the FBI did after the jump? just seems to me someone needs to put something together and try to recreate the whole thing with the same plane and conditions, the best way I see anything being figured out is to do the samething over which I understand would be a costly event but I think it would be well worth the cost if a major network picked up the tab? this all reminds so much of the convicts who escape Alcatraz, many claim that they also survived and yet not one single clue came up other than things found in the bay days and weeks later, this case has also had it share of sightings of the convicts that end up just like this....a dead end. we have many suspects that have been dismissed and alot of circumstantial evidence produced but like the convicts we have no body? I guess the bottom line is who really knows where he jumped? I think if we knew that question we would of found evidence? I am also interested in the "place card" on how it showed up so far away from the drop area? could the card have drifted that far north or is it another clue of where the door was actually opened? just so many different scenario's to look at to try and come to any conclusions. that was the feeling I always had contrary to what you read when people say not a single bill ever showed up. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' No matter what you tell them, they refuse to believe you" Agent Carr FBI

I would like to think he made it but the evidence is weak, If I would have made this jump and wanted to prove to the FBI that I indeed would have made the jump I would have sent the dummy chute back to them instead of the letters sent after the Hijacking if he even sent them? most of these cases show strong circumstantial evidence such as KC's large unexplained amounts of money! but none that come forward give any key information such as the LZ or where the parachute and briefcase went? nothing is ever proven except a good story. How hard or easy would it be in 1971 for those bills to slip through undetected? given the point of how things were done compared to today? If you read the post correctly I do live in Florida and am also intrigued in the case of flight 401 where it happened (Florida) and I also like the case of the 3 convicts who escaped Alcatraz in 62. I don't know how you got that confused but it says it right on your reply? I live about 20 miles from the location of the plane that went down in the Florida Everglades known as flight 401, or as some call it. "Ghost Flight of 401" It's kind of hard to live in Alcatraz today? "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' most walkie-talkies of this time period had a very low range of broadcast, Marla speaks of "expensive" ones that had a range of one mile, this would be on a flat surface plain sight (no obstructions) in order to get one mile. If he landed in a wooded area the limit of range would fall and even worse if in a Mountain range, IMO he would of had to almost land right on Dewy in order for the talkies to work in those conditions. the common CB radio does not exceed 4 watts output while most walkie talkies were in the milliwatt range of that period and again you would need no obstructions in order for them to work good. I have a CB radio and for me to talk any great distance with it I have a Ham LINEAR AMPLIFIER hooked up to it in order to talk long range, my radio is the legal 4 watts but the amp will give me over 1,000 watts allowing a greater distance. walkie-talkies back then were not small either, would of been another added piece to his gear that he jumped with, and if he landed in the right spot for the "one mile" walkie-talkie range they had on a flat line of sight! they were in the mountains so the talkie might not have much range. woods and buildings block the signal as well. yea it was just a thought since most people just say,I guess I'm 5' 8" and they put it on your DL my DL pic is from the late 90's and I have been renewing online so they still have not told me to come in for a new pic or eye test! well how about this question? did the cigarettes disappear about the same time DNA testing came out? just another thought? I did the samething measuring wear my strike plate was and it's at 36" this is a new door so who knows if they were all the same in that time period but it make one wonder? I was 9 when this happened and to be honest I don't remember it until later in school perhaps, I have followed it off and on over the years and became more involved with as the Internet came about and then really dove into this once the story with Marla came out, I am probably like many others seeking some sort of truth and conclusion to all this but it seems it's a never ending story! This story is one of my top stories I have been intrigued with along with flight 401 which is also very close to my home and the ever popular escape from Alcatraz. from that pic? all I see what appears to me is something black,I don't see any part of the shoe itself. that you can make out. the statement I read was as follows "Several days later a mysterious, intimidating man in a dark business suit knocked on her door and asked for her by name. Janet said the man, who did not identify himself as an FBI agent or police officer, told her the letter had been received and ordered her to "shut the fxxx up" about it." she never said anything about a badge? understood, was only making the point that nobody responded, then I read the outlined comments where it was already done, I'm the new guy so I have alot of cathing up to do and realize not every post will be answered. I posted a similar thing several days ago asking if anyone tried to get his height that way plus showed a picture with several issues I had commenting on the left side of the photo. never got any response. well to begin with my reply was in reference to the Marla case, your story from what I have been reading needs serious validation, if you are speaking of Janet who was a eyewitness to the jump,I find that very hard to believe, I live close to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood airport and just went outside and all I can see from each plane that passes over is the Silhouette of each aircraft and there is no way I could tell if something was underneath the aircraft, the ceiling is unlimited right now. I live about 8 miles from the Airport so maybe you guys would know about how high the planes would be from that approach, I'm guessing under 2,000? now granted if I looked up and seen flares coming out of the Aircraft it would be a different story but still the plane was Supposably at 10,000 ft in a storm so I find this story hard to swallow? well if there is any validation to this story it blows everyone's theories right out of the water being that he survived the jump! I agree with that but it still bothers me that they would allow someone like Marla to continue with her story while the investigation is going on, maybe they should do as the FBI does themselves and not supply information until the investigation is over, in other words put a gag order on the people making these confessions until some valid information is confirmed. almost seems as if today's FBI could really careless about the DB Cooper case? seems they would of figured Marla out rather quickly? after reading all of this over several days, I have come to a conclusion that he either made it or he didn't lol "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' No matter what you tell them, they refuse to believe you" Agent Carr FBI

I think they found 8 cigarette butts, I don't think this makes him a "chain smoker" because he was probably nervous causing him to smoke like that? yes that was the show, has anyone known done this jump in same situations as in at nite, windy conditions and rain? now for my thoughts on that night, if indeed it was that cold, there should of been snow and not rain? and the wings would have icing problems? was de-icing on wings in 71? "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' No matter what you tell them, they refuse to believe you" Agent Carr FBI

I realize the jump has been done hundreds if not thousands of times, has anyone really done the jump with the stairs in place and the samething Cooper was wearing along with the money in order to show he did not start a out of control tumble as many have said he would have done? I recall a show years ago that a guy did recreate the jump but said it was crucial to have a 30 second free fall? I can't remember the name of the show. that clip is interesting, what I would like to know is if any difference happened after he jumped like the FBI concluded in recreation using the same plane DB used? maybe someone should contact "mythbusters" and see what they come up with? my name is Dave Brown I live in Ft Laud Fla, I am here seeking answers like most are in trying to find out what happened on November 24, 1971, I have just began reading through all of these threads and trying to bring myself up to speed on what is going on here lol "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.'
