  1. That sounds interesting - would probably look like she is covered in pink latex. Can I vote for a video of a girl playing in green paint? Ah, the ole green goblin. You should have seen the nacho cheese sauce. (Jalapenos - bad idea. Well, maybe not for a bdsm-related video.)
  2. I just saw this on AMC's website: http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/2009/06/season-2-episode-titles-video.php (about the pink bear) I can't watch it though, because I'm still not caught up on the episodes.

  4. If you click on "Settings" in the top menu, and then "Privacy Settings," then "Profile," you can change who sees what. If you want to block just one person, click on "Customize" in the drop-down menus. But if you change it so that she can't see your status updates, she will no longer be able to see any of the old ones either, so she might ask you what happened to them.
  5. Except when the mother and unborn baby person are murdered. How do you square that one? No one here has yet to answer to this!!! I think that the laws regarding fetal homicide specifically exclude abortion and several other things. And yeah, I guess it's a grey area (when these laws do practically grant the fetus personhood in specific instances), but there is an obvious difference between when a woman chooses to terminate her pregnancy and when someone else forces her to terminate her pregnancy. I know that a lot of pro-choice people are against the fetal homicide laws because they are afraid that it is a step toward making abortion illegal, and it's probably a legitimate fear. But personally, I think those laws are a good idea as long as they are not used to outlaw abortion. Perhaps it is somewhat of a double standard, but I don't know of a good way around that.
  6. I don't think that we have any way to let them make that decision, one way or the other. But in the hypothetical scenario where they _could_ have a decision, where do we draw the line? Should my eggs have a decision about whether they get a chance at being fertilized or not? Or is it some point beyond fertilization that they get a decision about whether to become a person? And if so, what is that point? But of course I'm only stating the obvious, and what the abortion debate is all about. And I doubt there will ever be a consensus on the answer, so the best that we can hope for is a decent compromise.
  7. OK, Mike. Yes, nominating her is EXACTLY like nominating a former leader of the KKK as a SC Justice. That quote of hers CLEARLY shows that she is just as racist as Mr. Duke. But seriously... I can see how that comment and some of her actions might be interpreted as racist (and should certainly be considered by the committee), but blowing it out of proportion as Limbaugh did only makes him look silly.
  8. Did Limbaugh seriously compare her to David Duke??? If so, holy crap, I want some of those pills that he's on. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_sotomayor_supreme_court
  9. I don't consider sexual abuse to be any less of an offense than "violent" abuse is. I'm not even so sure about neglect, but perhaps (depends on the circumstances, I suppose).
  10. The original version had nekkidness in it.
  11. I believe that Planned Parenthood already provides free birth control to low-income women - at least at some of their locations. But yeah, I doubt they get many donations from pro-life people.
  12. Do you have a link to any info about this? I did a quick search but couldn't find anything.
  13. Yes, and now the killer will go to prison for murder, and it will probably have no effect on the number of abortions performed in this country. And he has probably traumatized a whole church full of people who had nothing to do with the doctor's practice.
  14. I can assure you she looks nothing like John Goodman in person.
  15. Same thing that would happen now if they weren't married at all. If you want the legal device we currently call "marriage" you get a civil union. If you're only interested in the religious ceremony, you'd get married in church. If you want both, you do both. Yeah, I guess if they didn't have the legal civil union then it would be similar (legally) to people who currently have common law marriages. It makes no difference to me whether my relationship is considered a "marriage" or a "civil union." The terminology is probably THE least important aspect of it. I just don't see any point in the major hassle it would be to convert all of the legal marriages to civil unions. And I don't think that use of the word "marriage" is the main problem anyway (seeing as a lot of the states have also banned same-sex civil unions).
  16. I was thinking about this thread, and trying to find some statistics about polyamorous relationships - whether they actually end at a higher rate than monogamous relationships, as many people seem to think they do. Anyhow I couldn't find any good stats, but I thought this paragraph was interesting (from a paper on therapy for polyamorous clients): http://www.numenor.org/~gdw/psychologist/bipolycounseling.html It's not really relevant to this thread, since it sounds like your friend is talking about more of a one-time thing. But I was just curious, because every time this sort of topic comes up, a lot of people claim that non-monogamous relationships rarely work. And since I haven't had that same perception, I was just wondering if there is any way to tell whose perception is correct. (Probably not - not enough data on the subject?)
  17. OK. And the appeals that have been made have been done in accordance with all laws. Nothing special about that. Anyhow, the "special rights" thing is just silly. No one is seeking special rights, only equal rights. I'm glad to hear that you think that. (And I'm sure you realize that most of the other states have already done what has been done in California, or at least something similar, and in some cases worse.)
  18. Actually, I don't think that the people who are against same-sex marriage should have had the special right to create a ballot proposition that would allow a majority vote to take away rights from a minority group. And I think that all of this will eventually end up at the SCOTUS, where the Court will hopefully strike down the states' marriage amendments as being unconstitutional. Then everyone will have the same rights regarding legal marriage (to marry another consenting adult of his/her choice), which is what I want. (Actually, it would be better if this could happen without ending up at the SCOTUS, but it doesn't seem like it will.)
  19. ? I use my credit card for a lot of things, because it is more convenient than using cash. It has absolutely nothing to do with being pretentious.
  20. I guess I have been oblivious to the fact that any particular credit card meant anything. So, what did the platinum card mean when you had one?
  21. OK, I guess I was just misunderstanding you. Could you explain what you meant by this: ?
  22. No offense, but I've found your posts in this thread to be somewhat confusing and contradictory, so it hasn't been very clear what it is that you're trying to say. You've made several comments about how people can choose who they love, so I'm not surprised that people would infer from that that you think gays choose to be gay. If you read what I wrote, and not what others have claimed i wrote, you would see my position has been the same all through this thread. I was referring to what _you_ have written. Your position has been very convoluted.
  23. Hey. Don't gang up on me with Keely. This aint a 3some. Is this one of those "don't" really means "do" things that girls sometimes pull?

  25. Wow, I'm surprised you haven't experienced that yet. How old are you???
