  1. I don't know. I only have anecdotal evidence to answer that question. But it sounds like a good topic for someone's dissertation.
  2. Much more likely to step in pony poop than atheist poop. Well, except that most ponies likely are atheists.
  3. Interesting that latex catsuits are not at the top of the list of sexy looks for women. There must be something abnormal about you.
  4. I was expecting something more like this from you: (I originally typed out "sexpecting." Oops.)
  5. You mean that movie with the guy from "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" in it? I saw enough to see that Ted has now acquired some nice clothes, a hot girlfriend, and some awesome moves.
  6. You say "robo-revolution" as if it's a bad thing. Who knows, maybe we'll find out that self-aware machines are capable of creating better humans. While simultaneously doing away with our rodent problems.
  7. Carnivorous clocks and coffee tables. This stuff is cool: http://www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2011/02/07/133432897/meat-eating-furniture?sc=fb&cc=fp (Though I did not watch the coffee table video.)
  8. Maybe they're not real impressed with being called "whuffos." I think this is just part of life in general, nothing directly to do with skydiving. As our interests change, we often make new friends and become distant from old friends. We tend to spend time with people who have interests in common with us. The close friends who are like family will still be there even if we see them less often.
  9. Concerned, respected, and informed. It just seems to me that a lot of people give unsolicited advice based on assumptions rather than asking questions first.
  10. Yes, I listen. Doesn't mean I'll use their advice, but I listen. The majority of advice I hear is both unsolicited and uninformed, and therefore rarely useful. I am a lot more likely to use the advice if it is both solicited and (more importantly) informed.
  11. Alcoholism often results in behavior that does pose a threat to others, such as drunk driving and other violent behavior. But I suppose it is the actual dangerous behavior that should preclude one from owning a gun, rather than the alcoholism itself. I would hate to think that a law-abiding alcoholic (or anyone else with mental health issues) would avoid seeking professional treatment due to a lack of privacy and a potential of having his rights taken away. Yes, I think this is one of the main problems.
  12. I would be very curious to see what this psych test would involve.
  13. Yes, but see, most of us are less concerned with accuracy and more concerned with how hot Jeremy Renner was in that role. Or.... maybe that was just me. Actually, I really did enjoy that movie, being blissfully ignorant of whatever inaccuracies it may have had.
  14. Sorry to go on a tangent here, but.... I always find it weird when couples know how many times per week they have sex, though many do. Is it some sort of regularly scheduled thing, like going to the gym?
  15. Hey, maybe this idea wasn't too far-fetched: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110129/ap_on_hi_te/us_sober_cars;_ylt=AhdEmZkJSR6RHmCbdq8fidZH2ocA;_ylu=X3oDMTNpbmQ2NWlnBGFzc2V0Ay9zL2FwLzIwMTEwMTI5L2FwX29uX2hpX3RlL3VzX3NvYmVyX2NhcnMEY2NvZGUDZ21wcmFuZG9tcgRjcG9zAzEwBHBvcwMxMARzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3JpZXMEc2xrA2luZnV0dXJlY2Fycw--
  16. I still do a lot of writing in an actual notebook, usually in cursive. And I occasionally write an actual letter in cursive too. But then I'm kinda old. As for how important it is for youngsters to learn cursive.... I don't know; I guess they can just trust us old folks to translate old documents for them.
  17. I've noticed this to be a pretty common behavior for people in general, regardless of political affiliation.
  18. I'm thinking there has to be more to blame for these deaths than simply texting-while-walking. If they were pedestrian/vehicle collisions, then either the pedestrian or the vehicle was crossing the street/intersection illegally. If people are jaywalking while texting, are they already being ticketed for the jaywalking?
  19. OK, I had to click on this thread since that is one of my favorite movies ever.
  20. There might be a tiny (or not so tiny) difference between simulated rapes and actual rapes.
  21. Well I know that my beliefs are different from yours and that they suggest we stay far apart, but hey, I'm eccentric! Where in the "middle" can I meet you? I don't think I can answer your question without getting this thread moved to SC.
  22. Hey now! I'm on this site, and I have no issues. No issues at all. I think when getting involved with someone else, the question is not "Does this person have issues?" The question is "Are this person's issues compatible with my issues?" And, of course, "beautiful" and "messed up" are both highly subjective.
  23. Despite what society throws out there, the person who is "chasing that look" has made a choice to do so. So, if that person has a problem, then I think the problem begins within that person. The world is full of advertisements and other people's expectations. But, to a large extent, we have control over how much we choose to let those things affect us.
  24. I finally saw this. Thought it was pretty good. (4 out of 5 stars ;) I watched it alone, when I was feeling sort of down, and it was the perfect thing for my moment too. I, too, really liked the use of color/tone (whatever you would call it?) to make the viewer feel a part of the emotion he was feeling.
