    I wasn't arguing whether "Bowling for Columbine" was factual or not - just saying that it is different to be concerned about "facts" in a documentary vs. "facts" in a Hollywood drama movie.

    I would have thought this as well. Then I saw people's reaction to Bowling For Columbine.... (please, let's keep that movie's merits, or lack thereof, in a Moore thread) The difference here is that "Bowling for Columbine" was supposedly a documentary, so people were reacting to things that were presented as fact which may not have actually been true. "The Day After Tomorrow" is a fictional Hollywood movie, so there is absolutely no reason for them to stick to reality. (It would be pretty boring to make a movie about how global warming ended up having no effect on us ;-)

    So what does a "she" post like??? Oooh - he's in deep trouble now Nah, he's not in any trouble... I was genuinely hoping to hear his explanation of what that was supposed to mean, only because I am sure it would be highly amusing. Somehow I don't think I'll get an answer though...

    Ok, I did that... It gives me mostly websites run by people who support guns and who have an obvious agenda against Michael Moore. Why should I give them any more credibility than I give Moore? Again, can you point us to the site that you are getting your "credible" information from? (And in case you're wondering, I am not an anti-gun person. I tend to lean towards Libertarian views on the subject.)

    I almost went in one on Sunset Strip one night - until I realized they didn't serve liquor (I think they are all BYOB down there). So since we were not prepared we didn't go in. (Gotta have liquor in a strip club!) That would be fun to do though (if we take some booze ;-)... They probably will offer you a job, but you can just tell them "no thanks".

    It's not the sort of video you would see on MTV or VH1 or anything like that... It's one of those weird novelty-type videos that you'd probably only see on the Internet, sort of like "Gay Boyfriend" by the Ukes of Hazzard (http://www.ryantown.com/gayboyfriend/#). I'll be working at the dz this Sat. until 4PM, so we can definitely meet at least (finally)!

    Those pictures of your son are too funny! It would be cute if he said that, but being a kid he would probably say it at the worst possible time and place! I did actually watch "From Dusk Till Dawn" again last night, because I could have sworn that line ("Well, let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet.") was in that movie too... but it was not. Oh well, as many times as I've seen that movie, it has me rolling on the floor every time! (same with "Pulp Fiction") Oh, and using that line at work is a good idea (well, at one of my jobs anyway). They're skydivers, so they expect me to say stuff like that.

    I didn't ask you to treat anything as credible. I just asked if you could point me to a more reliable source for information stating the contrary (like maybe an interview with their bowling teacher or classmates??). As I stated before, I've seen numerous claims on both sides of this "fact", but I haven't seen anything yet that could convince me either way... So I think it's all speculation unless you can find out from someone who was actually there. I never said it did. It seemed obvious to me when watching that movie that Moore had a personal agenda. Whether he lied or not, I can't be sure... but I definitely felt that I was watching some sort of editorial and not a "documentary". (So I think we agree there. )

    Ok, this is driving me crazy... A couple of years ago, someone showed me a music video that was downloaded from the Internet... I can't remember the name of the song, but I think it was something like "Sally in the Stars" or "Cindy in the Sky" (or maybe it was nothing like that???) ... Anyway, it kept switching between shots of two young boys playing Atari Pong (or something similar) and then the same boys watching some hot chicks on TV playing ping pong in little tennis dresses... It was a cool song and a funny video, but I have never been able to find it again. (And the person who showed it to me doesn't remember.) Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? And does anyone know the name of this song or where I can find the video? It's a silly thing, but it's driving me nuts!

    I’ve been wanting to work that one in for quite some time, just never seems quite appropriate, at least with the guys I hang out with. Maybe I could use it with some women at some point! I'm always looking for a good place to use that line too, though I guess it will sound funny coming from me since I'm a chick. I could have sworn they used that same line in "From Dusk Till Dawn", but I was just now searching for it and can't find it... Guess I'll have to bust out that video tonight...

    Just curious... What makes you so sure that they did not go bowling that day? (Were you there?) I have done some checking on this too, and it leaves me feeling that there's a 50/50 chance that they were in bowling class that morning. Yes, there are a lot of websites that claim they were not there, but there are just as many that say they were there (including some major news sites like ABC, CBS, and FoxNews - not that those are necessarily any more reliable than the other sites). Now, I definitely thought Moore's "documentary" was skewed toward his own personal agenda, but I also haven't seen any hard facts (from a reliable source) that would convince me that he was wrong about them being in bowling class that morning. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you know of some more reliable information than what I have been finding then I would be curious to see it...

    I think it would be the coolest thing ever! But I think I better start saving my money now if I'm gonna have $100K to spend on it by 2020! (Or maybe $100K won't seem like much by then anyway.)

    Full Story Here This is pretty cool... The one thing I really, really, REALLY want to do before I die is to go into space, and I was starting to think it wasn't going to be possible in my lifetime... but this is definitely giving me a little more hope!

    Politics... Read as many political articles as you can find... Hell, force yourself to sit and read the threads in Speaker's Corner for three straight hours... Hang pictures of George W. and John Kerry all over your walls and above your bed - this will keep any sexual thoughts from even entering your mind. (Well, maybe just the George W. pics... You're weird enough that you might actually think John K. is sexy! ) Ooh, put some pics of Rush Limbaugh up there as well... that should help repress the ol' sex drive too.
