Well, I will be flying in the tunnel tonight with my dude and some other friends (in celebration of our anniversary and my friend Purusha's birthday - both on 4/20)... I guess that counts as partying.

I don't see any problem with that, other than that it might be a hassle for the pharmacies. If you have a cold then all you have to do is go to the counter, ask for cold medicine, and present your ID. The only income loss I think they will have is from people who are using it for illegitimate reasons, so if they are unhappy to no longer be making money from meth labs or Nyquil addicts.... who cares? At least they didn't just simply BAN pseudoephedrine... Edited to say: Ok, I didn't even read the full story before replying, but: So actually they can still make money from Nyquil addicts. The liquids and gel capsules seem to work best for colds anyway (IMHO), so this just doesn't seem like a problem at all...

I was sort of thinking of doing that too... mostly because my Aussie husband has never dyed Easter eggs before... We'll see, I probably won't get around to it because I'm too lazy - much easier to just sit around and eat chocolate eggs.

And a few other intelligent women on this board disagree with you. Ok well, actually I will agree that it IS discrimination according to the dictionary definition (as are MANY acceptable things going on in this world)... I just don't agree that it's a bad thing. (The word "discriminate" does not always imply a negative action.) I do think it's good that you started this discussion though... because it is definitely a subject worth thinking about... and because you brought it up I have given it a lot of thought... but my opinion still stands that this dz is not doing anything morally wrong.

Hmm, interesting... Well, I tried to quickly find out why it's called Easter, but of course on the web I find many conflicting opinions... though a lot of sites suggest it was originally a Pagan holiday, named after Eostre, the goddess of fertility (or some variation of that idea)... Is this what you are referring to, or do you know a different story? I'm glad you pointed this out. I think this Easter I'll spend some more time reading up on the history of it. Maybe I'll enjoy it more knowing what it's really about.

Yeah, maybe if these guys would post meaningful thread titles...... I was just reading about this on the news and thought "Wow, I can't believe no one has posted this on dz.com yet"... but I came here and did a search and found that two people had already posted it - both threads I had seen earlier but didn't click on because the titles meant nothing to me. Oh well, my loss... Anyhow (now that I'm done whining ;), that is really cool news! -

It looks to me like Howard broke the law ("airing references to sexual and excretory functions between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m." on public radio) and now he is being punished for it. Now, I actually like Howard way more than I like George W., but I just can't agree that this is a "witch hunt against him by the Bush administration". If he doesn't like that particular law, then he should be doing something to try and change it rather than blatantly and publicly breaking the law and then crying when he gets into trouble for it. I don't want to see the "religious right" win the "cultural war" any more than he does, but I don't agree with the way he's handling this particular issue. Now if he was getting dropped simply for making negative statements about Bush (and had done nothing to break the law), that would be a different story...

Yeah, those gourds look like they're about the right size. Send me some seeds! Then I'll have a whole bunch of them and I can require all men who visit my house to wear one.
