  1. We have two of the Prisms. They're ok, but we also have a Slingshot trainer kite, which (I think) is way more fun to fly. I don't know anything about the Snapshot though.
  2. When I saw that you had replied to me in this thread, I was certain that it was going to have something to do with roundabouts. Guess I was wrong. But yeah, "don't be an asshole" is good advice in any situation. Unfortunately, we all have different defintions of "asshole."
  3. Yeah, we get a lot of people running red lights here too. I can't figure out why - maybe because everyone has a car full of kids and they're talking on their phones while driving. I've learned to be extremely cautious at certain intersections. Luckily they've been putting up cameras at some of the bad intersections, so if you run the light, a ticket is automatically sent to you.
  4. They probably never get around to enforcing it because they're too busy stopping the people who are speeding. The left lane is supposed to be there for passing, not so that people can drive whatever speed limit they want. I get annoyed with people who hog the left lane too, but most people who bitch about it are probably driving over the speed limit anyway, which means they're not following the rules any more than the person going slow in the passing lane.
  5. All the while taking away the rights of the woman. Well, in most cases the woman had the right to not get pregnant in the first place.
  6. Where would you stand if your 15 yr. old daughter presented you with that argument? Whether you have one or not, I don't know. I'm not sure which argument you're referring to. Would I let my 15 year old daughter (if I had one) do any of these things? I would try to raise her to think it's a good idea to wear a seat belt, to not ever have an unwanted pregnancy, to not ever feel the need to work as a prostitute, etc. But if, as an adult, she chooses to do any of these things, I probably couldn't do much about it other than give her my opinion.
  7. I agree with that. Seat belts are not only for protecting oneself.
  8. Do you think it should be legal to kill a human being as long as it hasn't been born yet? Or do you think abortion should be illegal after 20 weeks, except in cases where the mother's life is in danger?
  9. After reading the abortion threads, I'm curious... For those of you who feel that a woman has a right to have an abortion because it's her body and she should be able to do what she wants with it... Do you think that that right applies to other things as well? Should she also be able to have a clone made of herself? Sell her organs? Work as a prostitute? Use recreational drugs? Have herself euthanized? Drive without a seatbelt?
  10. Oh, ok. I guess I don't make much of a connection between "morals" and "religion," so I didn't read it that way. But yeah, for anyone who believes in the ten commandments (for example), it would be logical that "Thou shalt not kill" should apply to unborn babies and criminals alike. Probably. For instance, if I were in a situation where I had to choose between saving my mother's life or a stranger's life, I would certainly choose my mother. I guess that means that I value her life more than the stranger's. And would I be more upset about an unborn baby being killed than I would about a murderer being killed? Probably. But I can't say that I'm really pro-capital punishment.
  11. If someone has a moral issue with killing an unborn baby, why would it be logical that they should also have a moral issue with killing someone who has committed a horrible crime? The two seem completely different to me.
  12. Ah, ok. I thought you were implying that the criminal also had no choice. Sorry, I'm feeling sorta brain dead right now. The fetus doesn't, but the father might, depending on the situation. If I got pregnant and wanted to have an abortion (not that I would), I'm pretty sure I would let my husband take part in that decision. Well, unless it wasn't his. (Just kidding!)
  13. Oh, and what do you mean by this?
  14. Thanks. I bookmarked that because I may order it eventually. Right now I've got too many books and not enough time to read. Hmm, maybe I should be reading right now instead of posting on here.
  15. I don't think that most pro-choice people would consider themselves to be pro-abortion, so your poll options may not work for some.
  16. Apparently you need to read the Vatican's Ten Commandments for drivers:
  17. I feel the same way, to a certain extent. But then I think, if a woman wants to kill her one-week old baby, is that any of my business? I personally don't think that birth is the defining point of when the fetus becomes a person, but I'm really not sure where the line should be drawn. Definitely not a black and white issue. I guess I sit somewhere in the middle between pro-life and pro-choice.
  18. I don't believe you. It's too bad you can't post video here... But you can upload a video to youtube and post a link here.
  19. Why would you need to know this? For a math test.
  20. Have you tried emailing Takamine? (askus@takamine.com)
  21. I don't think he technically broke any rules. It's ok to say that ALL D-licensed skydivers are assholes, as long as he doesn't single anyone out. I thought his post was pretty funny. He's probably saying exactly what a lot of other newcomers have wanted to say but didn't have the nerve. And it was written late on a Saturday night, so I'm wondering how much alcohol was involved.
  22. Here is the storage policy for Kodak Gallery: I've been using it for a few years now, and I never even knew that was the policy. I guess I've made at least one purchase every year though, so it's never come up. I really like their service, but I haven't used any others, so I don't know how it compares.
  23. Sounds good... Have you got a recipe for that?
  24. We're gonna grill some Italian chicken sausages and fresh veggies, with a salad. And some wine.
